???? POV~

He was calling me again. This human didn't know how to take a break. I never wanted to be a demon, and I never wanted to be the slave of such an evil and abusive human. But I can't do anything about it while he has my headphones. They allow me to take on a human shape and unlock my full power as well as listen to any song I want. But that damn human stole them.

I sighed and spread my wings wide. Time to see what that jerk wants this time...

Seto POV~

Annie plodded through the town gate, whinnying to alert me that we had arrived. I swung down and gave her a carrot.

Good job, girl. Now we just have to find an inn with a good stable.

I told her, stroking her forehead as she ate.

Hey, as long as I'm fed and I get a good night's sleep I'm happy. Annie replied, tossing her head. I smiled and gave her another carrot.

When I turned around, I realized that the streets were dead. There was no one to be seen, and I could imagine tumbleweeds blowing across the square. I muttered a heat sensing spell, and to my surprise, it revealed that the town was half empty, and whatever residents it had were cowering out of sight. The closest person to me was hiding in a barrel. I ended the spell and approached the barrel, pulling off its top to reveal a man. He saw me and jumped, pulling away in fear.

"Excuse me for asking, but what happened here?" I said.

"You aren't with him?" The man asked.

"Who is 'him'?" I replied, and the man nodded, instantly relaxing. He climbed out of the barrel and turned around.

"GUYS, IT'S SAFE TO COME OUT! HE'S JUST A TRAVELER!" The man called and the few residents the town contained came out of hiding. "Well, because you asked, this town has been plagued for two years now by the necromancer Narloff. He used to be a rancid coot who lived in the mountains, but one day he came into town with a creature, and demanded we pay him all of our money. We refused and ever since then he's been taking people from the village and try are never seen again. The only way to keep him from taking more people is to pay him, and he takes someone whenever he wants to raise the amount of money we are giving him. He's a nasty one, and whenever we try to take him out his creature stops us. Now then, I'm Billy Bob Jones, and who are you?" Billy Bob finished his tale and held out his hand.

I shook it and replied, "I'm Seto Sorcerer. Is there a stable where I can put Annie while I'm gone? I can pay you." I pointed at Annie, who was standing where I had left her.

"Yea, I'm the inn keeper and I've got a nice clean stable for her. I can also give you a room, if you'd like." Billy Bob said.

"No, just Annie please. How much is it for one night?" I asked him.

"Two bronze, four if you also want her to have food and water." He replied instantly. I passed him the coins and he led me and Annie to the stable, where I quickly unsaddled her and brushed her down.

"So Billy Bob, where on the mountain does this Necromancer live? I want to avoid him at all costs." I said casually.

"You can see his big old house from here. It's on a cliff about halfway up the mountain." Billy Bob replied, pointing it out for me.

Suddenly, a scream pierced the air, and we ran outside to see a woman being carried off by some sort of dragon demon. I couldn't see much of him, other than his black and purple wings and tail. But what I did notice was that he was carrying the woman very gently, and as I watched he swung her up onto his back and flew up the mountain, taking his time, until I could not see them anymore.

Billy Bob had collapsed on the ground next to me, and he was sobbing quietly. "H-he t-took Rose... my poor daughter Rose..."

"It's ok. I'll get her back." I said, patting him on the back. Time to meet a necromancer.

Well, now that that's done I can finally be content. Aka time to start the next chapter...
