Reborn AU

A boy with dark messy hair wearing a mask walked through the busy streets. Cars were honking, and he kept bumping into people. He was having a pretty tough day, and all he wanted was some peace and quiet.

He finally found a quiet park then let out a sigh. The trees were filled with cherry blossoms, and the ground was also covered with the pink flowers.

He noticed a tall girl with flawless long pink and green hair standing underneath the trees. He thought it was beautiful. She was beautiful. 

She suddenly looked at him then gave him a smile.

"Oh hellooo! Can you help me?" she asked, running towards him. "I'm kinda lost... I'm supposed to go to a cafe to find my friend, but I got distracted by some sushi shop, and then I started wandering around then I found this place- OOOOH AREN'T THESE FLOWERS JUST BEAUTIFUL?"

The boy just stared at her. How is she so energetic? Is she always this excited about everything? How is she smiling and talking so much to a mere stranger she just met?

"You must not be around here much. Which cafe are you talking about? I can help you," he offered hesitantly.

She showed him the cafe on her phone. "Oh. It's really not far from here, it's just a street away," he said then guided her through the streets, finally arriving at the cafe.

"Thank you so much for your help," she said gratefully. "I'm Mitsuri Kanjiro, what's yours?"

"Obanai Iguro."

"Thank you, Iguro-San," she said, smiling as bright as ever now.

He felt his face getting warmer, and quickly adjusted the mask he was wearing to cover his blush. He stared at her to find her staring back at him. It felt as if time had stopped, and he and she were the only ones left in the world.

It was as if they've known each other for their whole lives.

"I'll get going now! I hope to see you again, Iguro-San!" Mitsuri beamed.

"W-Wait," he said, grabbing arm. "I-I-I saw this new action movie about demon slayers... d-do you maybe want to watch it together sometime?"

Now she was blushing. "O-Okay! Yes! L-Let's watch it!" she exclaimed.

They exchanged numbers then both went back into a blushing mess.

"I guess I'll see you soon then," she said.

"Yeah... I'll see you soon," he said softly. She blushed once more then waved goodbye and walked into the cafe.

Obanai felt himself smiling. The rough day he was having today suddenly turned so much brighter.

Mitsuri: I'm so so so so so sorry that I'm late! I'll make it up to you!! I got distracted by a lot of food shops, but thankfully a nice handsome man helped me out! He is sooo cute!! I think he even asked me out just now!!
