20. Woops...

"How long is this still going to take?" Iu asked impatiently.

"Be patient and I am just as hungry as you." I said rubbing the sticks together. Eventually a thin column of smoke rose, but by then my hands were swore and blistered. When the ferns caught on fire, I quickly put it in the small pyre I built earlier. I watched breathlessly as spark became fire and eventually engulf the whole thing.

"Alright let's cook some fish!" I said as the 3 of us sat crossed legged around the fire.

"Can you pass me the stick Iris?" I signaled my hand, as Iris stared at me blankly. Then slowly, and ever carefully, she passes me a stick.

"Good girl!" I patted her head, and as usual, her expression remained blank.

"Iu can you pass me the fis-" my sentence was cut short, as a fish slammed squarely into my face.

"Thanks...useless demon." I replied as I peeled the fish off my face and impaled it with my stick.

"You're welcome psycho." Iu said with a tone so sarcastic, it dripped with sincerity. Then without wasting anymore time, I began to cook my fish over the fire. I personally never liked fish, yet when I caught its scent, I found myself drooling all over the place...So without further thoughts, I began to bite down on its meat. Even though it was like half raw, the thing still tasted like heaven...Well since I never experienced heaven I will just say it's the best thing I ever tasted.

"You got to try this ladies..." my sentence trailed of, as I watch Iu stuffed her mouth with fish after fish, while Iris nibbled at her fish like a mouse.

"Slow down Iu! You are going to choke yourself to death!" I protested as Iu gulped down another fish.

Sparing me a look Iu said, "You're trying to distract me so you can save yourself more fish, greedy psycho." She went back to devouring fish.

"You're useless at everything, besides eating fish." I said as I return to my fish as well. And by the time I was done, I was so full, I felt if I got up my stomach would empty itself of all its contents.

"I am..." I burped, "full for once."

"Don't talk to me..." Iu said, as she fell back. With her stomach looking so large, it looked as if it might just explode any second.

"I suppose a little rest will be..." a drop of water landed on my forehead.

"Please don't be..." before I could finish my sentence, a dozen more drops of water fell on my face.

"Rain..." my voice trailed off.

"You are a genie of disaster."

"Argue later, high ground now." I said as we came to a silent agreement. We began to run towards our destination, and what started with a few droplets became pouring rain in matter of seconds. By the time our destination was in sight, we were soaked through. Turns out our destination was a cave with a rockslide covering the entrance.

"It's a cave." I said trying to catch my breath.

The only problem was that the only path to the cave had been partially covered by the rockslide and was unstable looking.

"Your decision." Iu said.

"...Alright then, let's not waste time." I said, as I ran up the path like there was no tomorrow. And about half way up, I felt the rock beneath my foot move, and it wasn't just the rock beneath me that moved, it was the entire ground. Next thing I knew, I was freefalling on my back with half the mountain collapsing on top of me...
