Pete goes back to Andy's place because Andy will know what Pete needs. Andy seems to always have the best advice for Pete and Pete could really use some of that right now.

"What's up, Pete?" Andy asks, plopping down on the couch beside Pete.

"I have a big problem."

"Bigger than kissing an angel?"

"Way bigger. I think I've just sealed his fate."

Andy's face turns to confusion. "The angel? How?"

"He'll be banished to Limbo and forget about me."

"Wow, um, okay so, only God can do that right?"

Pete's interest is suddenly peaked by Andy's question. Andy has a thought brewing in that wonderful brain of his, Pete can feel it in his horns. "Yeah."

Andy's silent for a moment then says, "Yeah, I don't know where I was going with that. I'm at a loss here, Pete."

Ah, son of a bitch, I really thought something good was going on there. Pete sighs, "Yeah, me too. I don't know what to do. I've tried talking to him but he's a hard guy to persuade."

Andy shrugs. "I don't know what to tell you, man. I can't help you with this one. You don't have any, y'know, demon friends?"

Pete shakes his head. "I'm alone on this one."

"Patrick, you're my friend and all but I have to advise against seeing that demon." Joe says to him as an honest-to-God friend, literally.

"Unless the next words out of your mouth is something helpful, keep it shut." Patrick snaps.

Joe sighs. "Sit down, Patrick, it's story time."

Patrick sits down on the fluffiest cloud in sight and crosses his arms, frustrated. "Don't tell me anything that has to do with demons being bad, please. I've heard enough of that."

"No, Patrick, it's not like that. Do you know what happens when an angel and a demon fall in love?"

Patrick shakes his head.

"Have you ever heard anyone say 'Chaos is an angel who fell in love with a demon'?"

Patrick shakes his head again.

"Well, they say that the oceans would flood the land and the magma in the earth's core will erupt to the surface and nothing can stop it except for the death of either the angel or the demon. But, it doesn't make any sense because angels and demons are already dead. They can be condemned maybe, but not dead."

"Okay, so, what does that mean?"

"The whole 'angel/demon love' thing is a load of balonie, it has nothing to do with angels or demons loving each other, it just deals with love in general. Do you know why the rebellion really happened in the first place?"

"Not really," Patrick says.

"God and Lucifer used to be a thing."

Patrick's brow furrows and he purses his lips. "A thing?"

"Yeah," Joe says. "They used to bump uglies."

Patrick's eyebrows shoot up. He was not expecting that.

"So, Lucifer used to be one of the most beautiful angels in Heaven and God had taken a liking to him. He was loyal, he listened, the whole nine yards. After about two hundred years, God had pretty much put all of his heart into running Heaven and keeping the other angels in line. He ended up ignoring Lucifer more often than not and Lucifer finally had enough of that. He ends up sleeping around with other angels, no longer caring what God thought of him and when God did find out he was boiling over with rage and hurt. God might have let his attention drift to running Heaven but he always loved Lucifer, he was everything to him. Heartbroken, God shuts Lucifer out completely. Lucifer blamed God for making him sleep around, if God had just gave him some of his attention everything would've been fine. Lucifer became enraged. He talked some of the angels into helping him 'overthrow' God so Lucifer could rule, but that wasn't really the case. He wanted to dethrone God so that he would pay more attention to him, he didn't really want Heaven for himself, he just wanted God to love him like he did in the beginning. But God saw it as a threat and quickly banished him along with the other angels. Basically, Hell and the demons were created out of heartbreak and Lucifer personifies his emotions into his demons."

Okay, Patrick really wasn't expecting that. Everything Patrick knows about Heaven and Hell's history was a lie. A big one.

If Lucifer personifies his feelings into his demons then that must mean that one group of demons carry his anger, another has his guilt, his heart break, his sadness, and even his love. Patrick assumes that Pete is one of the demons that carries Lucifer's love, the love he used to have for God; strong, heavy, and meaningful. Lucifer wanted to get rid of every emotion in his body because they were all attached to God. Loving Pete is forbidden only because God and Lucifer said so. And, man, Patrick feels a million times lighter.

"Oh my-Joe," Patrick jumps up from the cloud he'd been sitting on.

"I think you mean 'oh my God'." Joe barely gets the words out of his mouth before Patrick his hugging him with all his might and smiling like an idiot.

"Seriously, Joe, you have no idea how happy I am because of you. That was a big help, really. I am so glad you exist."

Joe can't help but laugh as Patrick vibrates with excitement and happiness. "Anything for my best friend. Now, go snag yourself a demon."
