"Andy, where the hell are you? I'm in desperate need of a hug. Or five."
Andy is Pete's mortal friend. Pete was accidentally conjured through a Ouija Board about two years ago when Andy and some of his friends had gotten drunk one night. They thought it was a load of bullshit but bought one and messed around with it anyway and when Andy's friends left, he was stuck with a demon in his apartment. But they got along quite well and Andy still thinks that Pete's too...kindhearted he guesses, to be a demon.
Andy emerges from one of the hallways and finds Pete leaning against the wall in the living room, too weak to hold himself up properly. "Dude, what happened?"
"I got my ass kicked for kissing an angel," Pete explains, nearly falling over when his hand slips from the wall but he switches to his shoulder for support. "Apparently it's taboo." But Pete already knew that.
Andy sits Pete down on the couch and turns on some cartoons, knowing that Pete had a weakness for colorful animations. "That's harsh, man. You hungry?"
"You know I don't eat."
"Doesn't mean that you can't." Andy knows that if there is ever a chance for Pete to eat something, Pete would jump on the opportunity in a heartbeat. He also knows that Pete enjoys coffee and most junk food. So he goes to get the chocolate Ding Dongs from the cupboard, that he keeps strictly for Pete's visits, (ha, ding dongs) and hands the entire box to Pete.
"Well if kissing an angel is taboo, then maybe there's a good reason for it." Andy takes a seat beside Pete on the couch, watching as Pete grabs a cake out of the box.
"Besides the trust issues, I can't think of one. No one ever bothered to tell me."
"Would it make a difference?"
Pete shrugs and says, "Probably not." then rips the plastic open and takes a bite of the cake. Andy eventually goes to get a wet cloth to clean off the dried blood from Pete's face and a clean shirt for him to wear. Pete quickly changes into the shirt and wipes off his face, but its still swollen. He'd have to wait for that to go away on it's own. He doesn't want Patrick to see him like that.
"I think you should go for it." Andy says suddenly and Pete snaps his eyes away from the TV and stares at Andy for a moment.
"Seriously? You think I should?" Pete takes another bite of the cake.
"Yeah. I know you, Pete, you would go for it whether you had my opinion or not."
"Hell yeah I would, but it's important to know that you want me to pursue this as much as I do." Pete's practically vibrating where he sits. He's so grateful to have such a great friend.
"Whatever will make you happy, man."
Pete and Andy fall into a comfortable silence, the only sounds in the room being the cartoon-y noises from the TV and plastic being ripped open.

Patrick sat upon the building and watched the sunrise. It was a little chilly today and so Patrick wrapped himself with his wings to block the cold wind, his knees pulled to his chest behind his feathers.
He hasn't seen Pete in a few days, not since they flew together. Patrick was wondering what might've happened to him, mainly just thinking that Pete didn't want to meet up with him anymore. He wasn't going to pretend that the thought didn't hurt him, but it also wasn't going to keep him from watching the sunrise or sunset.
Then suddenly he feels arms wrap around him, over top of his wings and a warm body pressing into his back.
"Miss me?" Pete rests his head on Patrick's shoulder and breathes in his angelic scent. Patrick can't help the smile that grew onto his face. He doesn't ask where he's been because he doesn't care, he's just glad Pete's here now.
"Nope." Patrick says simply but Pete knows he's lying.
"It's okay, I missed you too." Pete smiles then takes a seat on the ledge beside Patrick.
Pete looks out at the sunrise, the colors were amazing and Pete could see why Patrick liked watching it so much. He leans over and rests his head on Patrick's wing, the feathers tickling the side of his face. Patrick looks over at him and smiles then goes back to watch the sunrise.
They gaze in silence, comfortable. Patrick sees Pete shiver when a breeze rolls by and has him sit up for a second, then wraps his wing around Pete to warm him up. Pete scoots closer then lays on Patrick's shoulder and Patrick tilts his head, resting it on Pete's.
When the sun reaches it's full peak in the sky, Patrick looks at Pete who's still looking over the city. He notices a wound across the bridge of Pete's nose and some discoloration around his left eye.
Patrick unwraps his wing from around Pete and makes him sit up straight so he could get a better look. "Pete, what happened to you?"
Dammit. Pete was hoping Patrick would dismiss it or just not see it. "Nothing." Pete lies, not looking Patrick in the eye.
"Pete." Patrick says firmly. Pete finally brings himself to look at Patrick and his eyes are full of worry. His stomach flips and his heart pounds. Damn, Patrick, what are you doing to me?
"The other demons know about us." He says finally, feeling regret in his gut for not telling Patrick sooner. "It doesn't look as bad as it did a few days ago."
Hurt floods through Patrick's heart now that he knows why he hadn't seen Pete. He was punished, beaten for being with Patrick, but Pete came back anyway. He came back to see Patrick despite the fact that he was punished for doing just that.
Patrick puts his arms around Pete's neck and pulls him closer, embracing him firmly and whispering, "And you still came here."
Pete holds onto Patrick, grabbing the fabric of Patrick's shirt between his fingers. "Yeah." He says quietly. "I-I really like you, Patrick." He nearly chokes on his own words, his heart practically pounding against his rib cage.
Patrick responds by tightening his hold on Pete and Pete grasps at Patrick's shirt. He almost breaks down when he hears Patrick say, "I like you too, Pete."
