I sighed as I looked at the book that I had been given today. I needed to do a little studying before I went out into the woods. The teacher wanted us to have our own familiar by next week.

I haven't got one yet so I thought that I would go out today and try to get one. However before I do I want to some studying to make sure my first familiar is one that I can depend on.

I smiled seeing this and walked out of the house. I then started to walk through the woods and looked around. I didn't see anyone at first however I then felt like I was being watched.

I turned around and saw a small bird sitting in the tree. However this bird's eyes were red and it's feathers were strange being dark red at the base and turning yellow as they went further out.

I would assume that this is a phoenix. From what I've read they're a good place to start. They can heal and provide some good defensive support because of their fire.

I smiled and held my hands towards it. When I did a symbol appeared on my hand and I smiled. However the bird looked at me and suddenly spit a fireball at me.

I jumped back and it's entire body lit on fire and it screeched at me. It then started to fly towards me and I started to run from it. I should have guessed it wouldn't have been this easy.

As I ran I noticed that it suddenly stopped following me and just looked at me. I looked at it and it once again screeched and spit a fireball at me before flying away.

I then looked at where I was running and grew curious about what was here. Usually demons only stay away from one location when a more powerful demon is there.

I then started to walk towards the area that it had left and saw someone on the ground. He looked weak and close to death. He had white hair and purple eyes.

Wait purple eyes? Is he the demon that [Name] and Blaze were talking about? They said that the demon that they attacked was an ice demon. I then looked around and saw no sighs of him being an ice demon.

I then looked at the male. He's incredibly close to death but if he is the demon that [Name] and Blaze were talking about then he'd be better off dead.

I then held out my hand and a mark appeared. Which means he's definitely a demon. I'm not sure what he's doing here but if he is the demon that Blaze and [Name] were talking about then I should probably go get them.

Then again there's a chance that he's not the demon that they were talking about. In which case if I don't mark him then not only am I leaving him to die but I'm also passing up a more than reliable familiar.

I looked at him and thought about it for a second. I then made my decision and went back to the dorm. I have something in mind for him. If I just mark him with a regular emblem then his wounds won't heal.

I need to get the book I was given today so that I know what I'm doing. I would assume the binding emblem is my best bet but I don't know how exactly it works.

When I got to the dorm I walked in and saw [Name] and Blaze talking to each other. "Yeah, because of it's slow start up and major recoil on the person using it the DX-mark7 is meant to only be used for emergencies," [Name] said looking at Blaze.

"Oh, okay that makes sense. Hey [Name] you think we should find a blacksmith?" Blaze asked looking at [Name] as I started to look for my book.

"No why?" [Name] asked looking at Blaze.

"I'm not sure if your swords specail or anything but I think you could do better than a traditional sword. Plus I've been wanting to get my spear enchanted with wind ruins for a while now," he said looking at [Name].

"Why wind ruins?" [Name] asked looking at Blaze.

"It'd make it lighter and help it move faster when I throw it," Blaze said as I found the book I was looking for.

"Cool, I guess if nothing else I could enchant this sword. Who knows maybe upgrading would be nice," [Name] said as I walked through the door and once again started to walk towards the woods.

I then opened the book that I had gotten and opened the book to where the markings were. I then saw the binding emblem. I started to read and saw why the teacher suggested that we never use it on a familiar.

The binding emblem should only be used on a familiar that someone can trust. The moment that the two can are both marked their lives are connected. The moment one dies so does the other.

The moment that it is placed both tamer and familiar are fully healed and receive a mark. However only the tamer can summon the familiar by drawing some blood over the emblem.

I then looked at the male that was by a lake and I sighed. I then started to read over what I had to do in order to make the emblem appear. I placed my hand on top of his and a symbol appeared above both our hands.

I then sighed and thought about what I was about to do for a second. He probably won't trust me right away so that's something I'm going to have to work on.

I then sighed and continued. When I did a mark appeared on my hand as well as his. The males wounds then healed and his breathing became much easier.

I smiled seeing this and looked at my hand then looked at his. The emblems on our hand matched which means that the binding worked. Well I'm just glad to see that I have my first familiar and that he's not going to die soon.
