P.O.V. [Name]

I sighed as I looked at the two in front of us. "I see . . . well that does sound like a problem," King said looking at us.

"I can only imagine how Flare must feel," Nazca said looking at the ground. I knew what she meant when she said this. I feel the same way and I can only image how Blaze must feel.

"So what do you think can we trust him?" Blaze asked looking at King. When he asked this King sighed and looked at him.

"Shimo's not the type to lie, he never really care for deceiving others or trying to control them. Chances are it will just be him and Kūsō," He said looking at us. Well if nothing else I finally learned the name of Shimo's partner.

"So any advice for beating him?" I asked looking at King.

"You're best bet is your swords," he said looking at me.

"But when you were lost you said-" I began only for the white haired male in front of me to cut me off.

"What I said before still stands, you two are novices when it comes to using your swords. However I also know you two are the main reason he's doing this. Why else do you think he would have chosen Flare. He wanted to use someone you both had a deep connection to," King said looking at me. When he said this I sighed and looked at him.

"What does that have to do with us using our swords?" I asked looking at him a little confused.

"Well it's more than obvious that you two are the ones he's after," He said looking at us. When he said this I tensed up slightly and realized that he was right. Even when he invaded the city he picked us out to fight. He didn't seem to care about Aoi, Sayaka, or even the head of Star Shade and he was just a few feet away from him.

"So he'll go after us?" I asked looking at him.

"Hmm . . . it's hard to say really. Shimo's a bit unpredictable. I can honestly see this fight one of two ways. Shimo could try to get it over with quickly and head straight for the two of you, then again maybe he wants you to suffer before you die so he may just attack Aoi, and Sayaka first," King said looking at us.

"So our swords are the best chance we have huh?" I asked looking at him.

"Yeah, just try to be careful, as you've figured out your bodies haven't adjusted to the power of yours swords yet. So you'll have to pick when to attack and when to wait," King said looking at us. King then stood up and looked at me. "Well we better go, we don't have long until we need to meet him right?" He asked looking at us.

"No we don't have that much time," Blaze said looking at King. When he said this I nodded and we began to walk out of the building. When we left I looked at King as we began to walk down the quiet streets.

"We're supposed to meet Aoi and Sayaka at the northern exist," I said looking at him. When I said this he nodded and we continued to walk. When we finally reached the two I noticed that Sayaka had several more guns than usual as well as a gun that was bit bigger than the rest.

"Are you ready?" Sayaka asked looking at us.

"Yeah," Blaze said looking at the two in front of him. When he said this we began to walk through the woods and towards the place that we had first fought Shimo. As we did I couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

As we got closer I cold feel the air getting colder and saw some frost on some of the tree's and grass. When we arrived I saw Shimo looking at us with a smile. "It's about time you all showed up. I was actually started to get worried that you all got cold feet," He said looking at us.

I began to look around for Kūsō only to find that he wasn't here. Shimo then looked at us and smiled. "He's here he just has an illusion around himself so he can't be seen. No human can see through an illusion cast by him. However . . ." Shimo said as he turned his attention to King. "I'm guessing that you might be able to see him," Shimo said looking at King.

"Yeah, I can see him," King said as he looked at Shimo. If that's the case then King might be the only person who can defeat Kūsō.

"Well if that's the case then why don't you and Nazca take Kūsō while the rest of us handle Shimo," Blaze said looking at King. A scythe appeared in front of King when he said this and King nodded.

"Sounds good, after all I'd like to get back him for forcing me into my lost state," King said as he looked into a space that appeared to be nothing. 

"Then I hope you don't mind taking your fight somewhere else. I'd rather the two of you not disturb my fight," Shimo said as he looked to his side. I then heard a few footsteps and King looked at Nazca and she nodded.

King then began to walk with her into another direction. "Blaze, King told me something interesting about our swords. So if we want to win this we'll have to finish it quickly," I said looking at him.

He seemed a little confused hearing this but nodded. "Alright, then," He said looking at me. He then drew his blade and I copied his action. Shimo smiled seeing this and then sighed.

"I almost forgot," Shimo said as he snapped his fingers. When he did I saw several spikes made of ice appear and start to rotate around Flare. "Don't try anything or I'll kill her," Shimo said looking at me.

I could tell that Blaze was upset by this and we looked at him. The first of us to attack was Sayaka shooting several bullets at him. Shimo moved seeing this and the bullets exploded when they hit the ground.

Seems like she got some new ruins for her guns. Blaze then dashed forwards and I followed after him. Shimo then brought up his hand and stopped Blaze's attack. I moved behind the male and attempted to attack him. When I did he summoned a sword made of ice and stopped my attack.

I then heard something above us and looked to see Aoi falling down. Shimo then grabbed Blaze and threw him up so that he hit Aoi. A shot then hit his face and exploded. He seemed a bit annoyed by this but let I've form a new part of his face and he looked at me.

"Tell me, why do you pursue me?" He asked looking at me. I was a bit shocked to hear this and he looked at me. "That's right don't think I haven't notice you and your friend seem to hate me," Shimo said as he pushed me away. "Is it because I killed your friend? Perhaps I killed someone close to you or do you hate me simply because I'm a demon?" He asked looking at me.

I gritted my teeth remembering what he had did. How he had come to our town and destroyed it without warning. "I see," he said looking at me. "If you live after this battle have King tell you demon law number 872," he said looking at me. I was a bit confused hearing this and he looked at me. "Well I don't want to tell you if you're about to die. So like I said if you live have him tell you demon law number 872," he said looking at me.

He then rushed forward and I raised the Masamune to stop him. When I did he looked at me and held up his arm. It then turned into a spike of ice and sent it towards me. I moved out of the way but he managed to cut my side.

I then heard Sayaka fire a few more shots however Shimo created a wall of ice and stopped the attack. The ice shattered after the explosion and Blaze came through the dust and slashed at Shimo. When he did Shimo raised his hand stopped the attack.

I then moved forward and blaze managed to cut down and cut Shimo across the chest. When he I cut the male from behind and he coughed up a large amount of blood. Several shards of ice then shot out from his body and we were sent back.

Shimo's body then started to fade away. However he covered his wounds in ice and the fading slowed down. He then placed his hands on the ground the ground became covered in ice and several small bumps appeared.

I jumped seeing this and looked to see that the others had as well. Several spikes rose from the ground when we did and I sighed. However my relief was short lived as we began to fall down towards the spikes.

I then heard shooting and turned to see that Sayaka was shorting spits for us to land on. Just before I hit the ground the ice exploded and I looked at her to see her sigh. She then emptied the clip to her gun and start to put a new one in.

I then looked at Shimo and he appeared to be a little out of breath. Not that I can blame him the Masamune is finally starting to have an effect on me. I then turned to look at Blaze and saw that he was also a little out of breath.

This can't be happening, I can't stop yet. Not until I make that bastard pay for everything he's done! I then felt an incredible pain in my chest however it oddly enough didn't feel physical. I looked at Shimo, he must have done something to my body the question is what.

Aoi then moved forward and started to attack the male. It was obvious that he was having trouble keeping up with her. I'm honestly not the surprised he's struggling. Even when we spar she usually ends up playing her skills down so that she doesn't hurt us.

In terms of skills she's easily stronger than all of us hell I'd be willing to be that she's on par with King. Aoi then tried to sweep his feet however he jumped in the air. She looked at me when he did and hit the male with her blade sending him towards me.

I then understood why she had looked at me. I then moved forward stabbed the male through the chest. When I did his ice disappeared and his body started to fade away. He then looked down and chuckled slightly. I pulled my blade out and looked at him.

I watched as Shimo's body slowly began to fade away. "Damn it, I never thought I'd be defeated by someone as pathetic as you. A novice who got lucky and found the Masamune," he said with a sad smile. He then looked at me and smiled. "I save you some time and tell you about what I was talking about earlier. About demon law number 872," He said looking at me. "Demon law number 872, any demon who wishes to become a member of the royal guard must not have any plans for revenge. Tell me do you know why we made this law?" He asked looking at me. I nodded hearing and he chuckled slightly. "No of course you don't you humans are never smart enough to comprehend such things. Tell me what would you do if I told you I had a daughter?" He asked looking at me. I tensed up hearing this and looked at him. He smiled seeing this and looked at me. "You told me that the reason the two of you hate me is because I destroyed your home and killed your loved ones. Now tell me if you kill me my daughter would grow to hate you correct? So if she killed you would her actions be justified like yours are? Then what would happen after that? Your kids, friends, and family would grow to hate her and would hunt her down just as she hunted you down and just as you hunted me down. Hatred will create more hatred, we made this law so that no demon would seek revenge and try to justify their actions by saying it was for the good of the kingdom because then they would hate the kingdom. I'm telling you this because the Masamune loathes the side of someone who is consumed in hatred and if you continue down your current path it will consume and destroy your soul," Shimo said looking at me, he then coughed up a small amount of blood and looked at me.

"Don't worry I don't have a kid or a mate so it would seem as if you lucked out this time. However I wouldn't become to confident after all I'm a royal guard and I can and will be easily replaced. So this war will not be easier for you to win if anything it's only going to be harder for you because now I'm sure you have the Kingdom's attention," He said as he faded away I sighed hearing this and looked at the blade I had used to defeat him.

Part of me was glad that he was finally gone however what he said had me a little worried. That the Masamune would consume and destroy my soul. I wonder if that's why I felt that pain earlier while I was fighting him. I then put the blade away and then suddenly felt a massive pressure and saw what appeared to be a black pillar in the distance.

"That must be where King is, let's go," Aoi said as she started to run towards the direction we saw the pillar. I sighed and started to run after her. When we got there I saw Nazca holding King's unconscious body.

P.O.V. Kuso

I turned to see King chasing after me as well as that tamer of his. I could see that he was staring in my direction but not at me. He must be using my magic signature to locate me instead of trying to locate me by seeing through my illusions. I don't think the female can see me however it may be best if I try to avoid her. I'm still not sure what she's capable of.

Looks like I'll have to drop my illusion if I want to get away from King. I let my illusion fade and started to speed up. As I did I also started to conceal my magic signature. I continued to run until I stopped hearing King's footsteps.

I then hid behind a tree and waited for King to pass. I waited for a few seconds and didn't hear anything. Did I really managed to loose him? I then felt a magic signature spike behind me and moved forward. A scythe then cut the tree I was hiding behind and I turned to see King staring at me.

Seems like I'll have to use my illusions to have any chance of winning this fight. I then moved as he once again swung at me however as I moved I created an Illusion and it appear as if he cut his tamer. It clearly worked as he caught the illusion that fell.

While he was caught off guard I surrounded him in an illusion that way he could only hear and feel what I wanted him to. I then heard footsteps and turned to see the red haired female looking at us.

P.O.V. Nazca

I was out of breath when I finally managed to catch up to the two however when I did I noticed that King was holding what appeared to be an injured version of me in his arms. "King it's not real!" I said as I called out to him.

"It's no use he's caught in one of my illusions again," Kūsō said looking at me. I glared at the male hearing this and heard some coughing. I then turned to see that the illusion of me that Kūsō had created had coughed up a small amount of blood.

"Why?" She asked looking up at him.

"Nazca I-I'm so sorry I didn't mean to I swear I just," He began looking at the illusion of me. I then moved forward and brought the male close to me. I needed to let him know that what he was seeing wasn't real.

"King it's alright, I'm okay," I said looking at him however I didn't receive any response. After a few seconds had passed King then looked up and like when he was lost the white of his eyes had become a solid black color.

However unlike his lost state his eyes weren't red, they were still their usual purple color. King then stood up and I saw the symbol from our binding emblem glow. When it did strange markings appeared on King's body.

He then held out his hand and a ring appeared above it. A ring of the same color and shape then appeared around Kūsō. I watched as he arms were suddenly brought close to his body as if he was being restrained.

"Death pillar," King said looking at the male. A large black pillar of magic then rose from the ground. When it finally faded I didn't see Kūsō and the markings faded from King's body.

I then watched as he slowly fell,I moved forward seeing this and caught him before he hit the ground. I then placed his head on my lap and sighed, it's nice to know that he cares about me so much. I just wish he hadn't gone so overboard with it.

P.O.V. Inkosi

I watched as the ring appeared around Kūsō and then a pillar of pure magic consumed him. I couldn't believe what I just saw I had no idea that King had such a large magical pool. . . No it had to be his Royal Markings, I've already seen what they can do first hand.

Hmm . . . I wonder, I then released a slight wave of magic. I didn't feel anything and I felt a smile slowly cover my face. Amazing truly amazing! King you didn't just destroy his body you completely obliterated his soul.

Seeing this kind of power, its not wonder the Royal class are so greatly respected. I then turned my attention to the female that I as in Kūsō's illusion. I'm not sure who she is but unless I want to meet the same fate as Kūsō I should try avoiding her.

I then heard a few footsteps and sighed. Seems like the other slayers have found their way here. It doesn't matter I should probably get back to the demon realm. King I look forward to the day that our scythes once again clash.
