Chapter 18: Legendary blades
P.O.V. [Name]
I was walking down the streets with Blaze. As we were walking I could see how excited Blaze was to finally have an advantage over Shimo, and his partner. "I can't wait to meet Shimo again, since next time we'll have something to help us with fighting," Blaze said looking at me.
I smiled hearing this and looked at him. "I wonder what it is exactly that's going to help us," I said looking at him.
"Who cares, if it can be used then I plan on using it on him," Blaze said with a smile. I haven't seen him this excited for something in a while. When we reached the building I saw the elderly male looking at us.
"Oh, Head master, you're here," I said looking at him. When I said this he nodded and looked at the two of us.
"Yes, I've been waiting for the two of you," He said looking at us. When he said this he turned around and began to walk into the building. When he did we followed behind him. As we were walking Blaze looked at the male in front of us and sighed.
"So what is this that's gonna help us with Shimo?" Blaze asked looking at the male in front of us. When he asked this the elderly male sighed and looked at us.
"I chose the two of you because I had heard that the two of you had come to Star Shade on the same boat. As you know we get new arrivals every month so it's hard to remember everyone. However it's hard to forget the team of students that faced a royal guard and managed to tame an SS level demon," The elderly male said as we began to walk down a long hall without any doors.
"Well the taming part was Nazca, she's the third member of our team," I said looking at the elderly male in front of us.
"I see, I assumed as much when I saw your friend. I had heard the tamer was a female. Either way we're here," The elderly male said as he stopped in front of the door. "This is my office inside is something that will help the two of you," The elderly male said looking at us.
"So why have we stopped?" Blaze asked looking at the male in front of us.
"I want to ask the two of you something. Do you know what it was like before the war. Before Humans and Demons were always trying to kill each other?" He asked looking at us.
"I can't say that I do," Blaze said looking at the ground.
"It's nothing to be ashamed of, I can't imagine that many people do know what it was like before the war. After all that was more that seven hundred years ago," The elderly male said looking at us.
"Would you mind telling us?" I asked looking at the male in front of us.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt anything," The elderly male said looking at us. "Demons and Humans were the best of friends before the war then again we weren't at each others throats either. It was case by case we helped each other at times and during others we fought. Some lived peacefully together and others even managed to find love," The elderly male said looking at us.
When he said this I was surprised and looked at the male. "Then how did the war start?" I asked looking at him.
"The war started because of a small clan that existed in the demon realm. They were the reapers and the difference between us existed in our souls. They could take ours but we could not take theirs. Humans came to fear this clan and one night humans invaded the clan and killed almost all of the reapers. The demons of course didn't like that the humans killed one of their most powerful and respected clans. The demons wanted to retaliate and thus the war began," The male said looking at us.
"So . . . we started the war?" Blaze asked looking at the male in front of him.
"Well technically the demons started the war but humans were the cause of the war," He said looking at the two of us.
"Wait you said almost all of them, how many survived?" I asked looking at the male in front of me.
"It was a pregnant female, the reason that she survived the attack was because she was at the castle of the demon king. So she wasn't present during the attack and she gave birth to a male and died in the process. The only known survivor of the Reaper clan is a demon by the name of Inkosi," The male said looking at us.
When he said this I looked at Blaze. I wonder if Inkosi is the reason that Blaze is still alive? The male then looked at us and sighed. He then turned around and walked into the room we followed behind him and saw two swords on his desk. "These swords were the reason that I managed to defeat as many demons as I did. I wielded them in battle with my best friend. The moment he died I decided to retire the swords until they were need again," he said looking at us.
"They are two of the twelve sacred weapons. These two blades are considered legendary among those that are familiar with them. The Masamune and the Muramasa, a blade of light that helps vanquish evil wherever it hides and a blade of darkness that can turn any lower level as well as most moderate level demons into dust with a single touch. The two amplify each other when they're close and even more so when wielded by those with a close connection. That's why I believe the two of you should wield them," He said looking at us.
When he said this we walked towards them and each picked up a blade. When we did he looked at us and smiled. "You know you two remind me of myself and Umngane when we were your age," the elderly male said more to himself than anyone else.
Before I could ask what he meant I heard some footsteps behind me. They were light and distant but there's no doubt that there were footsteps. Blaze must have heard them to because he turned towards the direction that they were coming from. When he did this I also looked and saw something unexpected.
A young female who had short purple hair and red eyes. She looked to be seven or eight was walking towards us. "Papa? Who are these people?" The female asked looking past us.
"Oh these two are just a few of my students. I asked them so I could give them something," The elderly male said looking at the female. The female continued to walk until she was past us and looked at the elderly male.
When she did the elderly male leaned down and rubbed her head. "Go back to bed, I'll be there to read you a bedtime story shortly," the elderly male said looking at them. The young female nodded and began to slowly walk away running her eyes. When she did the elderly male looked at us.
"You have a daughter that young?" Blaze asked looking at the male in front of him. I mentally sighed in disappointment hearing Blaze ask this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious as well. Shemo looks to be in his eighties and yet he has a daughter who look like she's only seven or eight.
"Yes it's a bit of a complex story but a short one. She's half demon so she naturally ages slower than myself," Shemo said looking at us. I was a little shocked to hear this.
"Yes, her mother was a demon that I met a long time ago. Her mother is the only reason I know any of what I do about what life was like before the war," Shemo said looking at us. He then sighed and looked at us. "Anyway you two must go, Amelia gets a little upset when I don't read her stories. Just promise not to use those two swords I have you against anyone that's not an enemy. Not even against each other when sparing. They should only be used for emergencies," Shemo said looking at us. When he said this we nodded and began to walk out.
P.O.V. ?????
I watched as the two males from before walked out of the building with the Masamune and the Muramasa. I can't tell who has which but no I'll have to watch out for the two of them. Those two could be trouble if they learn how to use them.
I then turned my attention to a window where I saw an elderly male and young female. The head of Star Shade Academy, I smiled seeing him. Soon old man, soon it will be time for me to strike and time for your miserable life to come to an end.
I then stood up and began to walk away. "I can't wait to see if the rumors surrounding you are true," I said as I walked out of Star Shade city.
A/N: Before we go I'd like to give a special thanks to BachelorRen for letting me use his OC in my story.
