Chapter 10: Hidden power
P.O.V. Inkosi
I walked into the room where I knew the demon King would be. I looked at him and as soon as he saw me his eyes narrowed and he sent his servants away.
"What do you want Inkosi?" he asked looking at me.
"Well my lord, I have recently accepted the challenge of your second born. The demon you named King. However I have noticed that he has grown stronger since the last time I met him. So I was hoping to obtain some information about him," I said looking at him.
He looked at me for a second and stood up from the chair he was sitting in. "Follow me," He said looking at me. I smiled seeing this and followed the male out of the room.
We then entered another room and he shut the door behind us. "So what was it you were hoping to find out?" He asked looking at me.
"Basic information, magic, fighting style, weaknesses, as well as anything else you think I may or may not need to know while fighting him," I said looking at him.
"Well his magic is the most common among the royal class. He of course can control the darkness however his mastery over the magic makes him rather dangerous. He follows the traditional demon style of fighting. Attacking often, using his magic while fighting, and guarding when needed, however as far as weaknesses go I've never seen him display any," He said looking at me.
I smiled hearing this and looked at him. "Thank you, the information you have provided me is helpful," I said looking at him. I then bowed and was about to leave until he turned around.
"There's something else I think you should know," He said looking at me. I then turned around and looked at him a little curious.
"Well then by all means please tell me what you think I should know," I said looking at him.
"As you know his place as heir to the throne was cast aside the moment his brother was born. That's because Gorou has a rare magic even by royal standards. However there's a reason King was considered the prized jewel of the demon kingdom until his brother was born," He said looking at me.
"Now why might that be?" I asked looking at him.
"It's because I believe he inherited something else," He said looking at me.
"Inherited something else? You mean like a secondary magic?" I asked looking at the older male in front of me.
"No I think King may have inherited something more powerful than a secondary magic. I think he may have inherited royal markings," He said looking at me. My eyes widened for a moment before they returned back to normal.
"Royal markings? I somehow doubt he's inherited that. After all it's the rarest trait found in any demon and the reason it's so rare is because only demon of the royal class can inherit it," I said looking at him.
Although if he's right and King has inherited royal markings that makes his soul much more valuable to me. The power I could gain from him certainly would be worth the risk. If not I still have a royal class demon I can add to the collection.
The male shrugged and looked at me. "I know it's an impossible thought however if he has inherited royal markings that complicates things just a bit for me. Is there anything else you'd like to know?" He asked looking at me.
I then thought about it for a second and nodded. "Yes his scythe, it caught my attention the other day when he summoned it. I'd like to know more about it," I said looking at him.
"Oh well it's made of cursed metal. As you know it's quite deadly against humans, against demons like us, he might as well be attacking us with a regular scythe," he said looking at me. I nodded hearing this and walked away.
If it's made out of cursed metal then that explains how he was able to summon it. I have all the information I need about King to win our fight now I all need to do is wait for the next full moon.
P.O.V. King
I sighed as I looked at the red haired female in front of me. I've been waiting for a while for her to go to sleep. Now that she finally is asleep I can leave. When I walked out of the room I saw [Name] staring at me.
"Where are you going?" He asked looking at me.
"I felt a magical signature that caught my attention. I want to see who it belongs to," I said walking past him. When I said this he nodded and I walked outside. I then began to walk towards the edge of the town.
When I reached the edge I walked through the field and started to walk through the woods. I can only hope that Shimo doesn't feel my magical signature or that for some reason he left the island. However I find that to be very unlikely.
As I walked through the woods I saw that there were a few flowers dying. I started to follow this and saw Inkosi looking at me. "I hope you're ready King," he said as he summoned his scythe.
I summoned my own scythe in response and looked at him. He smiled seeing this and I readied myself. "King I hope you're not expecting to win," he said looking at me. When he said this he readied himself and he looked at me.
"Care to do the honors?" He said looking at me.
"Three . . . Two . . . One . . . Begin," I said looking at him and we dashed at each other.
