You had gone back to work and, created a routine for yourself. You started eating lunch with your demon friends/family enjoying their company at times more than your co-workers. Your co-workers were too nosy for your liking and, wanted to know how you afforded to live in a fancy building, wanting to know how much money you make, your other jobs, and the work. It was too much for you especially since you knew the questions were coming from a place of malice instead of genuine care. You would use your lunch breaks to escape and, talk to Avery as well to see how they were holding up with the Rengoku family. You had told them about the other demons you adopted and, the unadoptable ones. They were excited for you for getting more demons and, they were looking forward to adopting another one. 

"Are you texting Avery?" You turned to Muichiro who had no problem invading your personal space but, you didn't care. He was adorable even though his brother seemed to have an aneurysm every time. You handed him the phone and, let him read some of your messages. He hummed handing the phone back to you. "I like Avery, they are nice." You nodded your head in agreement. They were really sweet and nice.  You were currently in your second apartment with the Tokito and Tsugikini twins. You guys definitely got along a lot better. Muichiro and Yoriichi had habits of laying all over you while you watched their brothers panic thinking something bad is going to happen even though you never would hurt them.

"Ah man, it's almost time to go back to work." You loved your job but, you disliked some of your coworkers. They tried to sabotage you but, whatever. "I'll see you guys later, okay?" You gave them all head pats heading back to your other apartment to say see you later to them as well. You went back to work already praying for the day to be over. It finally was over with you heading straight home but, at the last minute, you turned around glaring down the annoying Karen of a worker. What the hell did she want? 

"Oh, Y/N! How are you? I didn't expect you to turn around like that?" You blinked at her. You can almost feel her key in your ignition with how close she was.

"Why are you following me? What do you want?" Your eye twitched because you really didn't like her. Her disposition made her a very unlikeable person.

"Oh, I'm coming over." You blinked at the audacity. The audacity? If you didn't give a shit about your job you would punch her straight in the throat or nose but, you digress. 

"No, you're not. I don't care where you go but, you are not coming to my building or apartment." You turned around thinking she got the hint but, clearly, she didn't.

"I just can't fathom how you can live there. How can you afford to live there? You must be doing something else and, I am going to find out." You turned to her with a maniacal grin making her pause for a second. She should have paused a long time ago.

"You being broke is not my problem, you being an entitled little bitch is also not my issue, anything that pertains to me is none of your damn business. Go wherever the fuck you want to go and, stay the hell away from me." With that said you continued on to your building glad to see that she disappeared down the street on the phone probably playing the victim. They always do that when they're clearly in the wrong. You made it to your apartment not wanting to be upset but, you were still a little sour.

"You smell upset Y/N." You turned to Hinatsuru with a tired look. You weren't going to have them thinking you were upset with them. They never did anything wrong. 

"I am upset because this really annoying lady keeps asking me a whole bunch of personal questions. If she keeps doing this, I'm building up proof of her harassment so I can get a restraining order against her. A restraining order just means she cannot come into my vicinity or where I live or else she will get arrested and be sent to prison. It's extreme but, she keeps pestering me. I told her off right before I walked in outside the building so, hopefully, she will get the message." You highly doubted that she would get the message because she was very persistent. You went to your room to change and wash up. When you came back out you were not expecting to see cupcakes. You turned to the girls to see them smiling sheepishly.

"We had made these earlier for you and, I am glad that we did! You seem to need something to lift your spirits and, I am glad that we can help you." Makio shyly pushed the plate of cupcakes to you as you quickly snatched one up and, ate it. It was heaven on your tongue as you grabbed another one and, slowly ate this one. You wanted to savor it. 

"This was something that I definitely needed in order to feel better. All of you did really well with making me happy. It means a lot to me." You went to all of them hugging the women and, waiting for Tengen to initiate what he wanted and, you were happy when he hugged you as well. Sometimes he didn't want hugs and, other times he did. It seemed that this moment was one of those hugging moments. 

"You can relax if you want to Y/N! We can get our own food, clean, and everything else. Take time to relax." You smiled at how thoughtful they were. You were so glad that they chose to trust you and, that you saved them from those awful people. You thought about it and, maybe you should go see how the others are doing. You had gotten them clothes, books, games, and a little decor that they said they liked when you asked them. Make their space a little livelier. Daki and Gyutaro got the same treatment and, it seemed as if Daki loved you even more and, Gyutaro put more trust in you. You were going to earn his trust eventually. You were a patient woman.

"I think I'm going to see how the others are doing. If you want to see them just come over." They nodded at you as you went to go see how they were doing. They got used to you and, you were more proud of Yuichiro and Michikatsu than anything. They were being good older brothers by protecting their younger brothers from someone that they deemed a threat. You also figured out that they were separated quite often and, this was the first time they were put together. You were glad to have made that choice to take them all.  

"Are you okay?" You turned to Michikatsu who turned half his eyes to you and, the other three were watching the others. You found out that he is the oldest out of all of them and, he was quite protective of them. You would make sure that none of them would be separated again. You promised even if it killed you. They deserved to be together and be happy.

"I'm just a little miffed by a lady I work with. She is such a displeasure to be around at all times. She is very nosy and earlier she tried following me here because she didn't know how I can afford to live here and, what do I do to keep this place. It made me angry and, I told her off. It left me a little upset about the encounter but, nothing to ruin my whole mood and day. She is not worth it." You realized after talking that he had moved over and, now you guys were touching from the shoulder all the way down to your toes. You said nothing not wanting to scare him away. You were waiting for this kind of contact with him. You do not rush any of them because they don't deserve to be rushed but, you were giddy about him wanting to be closer.

"That lady...sounds dangerous...be careful please." He talked slowly and methodically but, you wouldn't change anything about him. You thought it made him unique. You turned at a shadow and, saw Yoriichi sliding down to sit next to you as close as Michikatsu was. Now, you were squished between the older demon twins. It was so warm and comfy. You loved the trust they were showing you. It was so wholesome and, gave you butterflies. You loved earning their trust. They already had yours so to earn theirs was a treat worth celebrating. Even if the celebration is only in your head. 

"I promise to be careful. If she doesn't stop I would get a restraining order against her. I'll call HR which is human resources and, hopefully, get her fired or at least re-located. I want her to leave me alone and not lose her livelihood. If I have to be the one to make her lose everything, I will though." You took a breath resting your head back with your eyes closed. A minute later you felt simultaneous weight placed on your head on either side. You opened your eyes to see the Tsugikini twins leaning against you and, you were too scared to move. This was a dream come true for you and, you wanted this to last. You relaxed your shoulders watching as they buried themselves deeper into your sides. 

"Hug?" You looked forward and saw Mucihiro standing in front of you with a small smile and arms reaching out. You knew the Tsugikini brothers heard him but, they weren't bothered. They all had a soft spot for Muichiro including you.

"Of course, darling, come here." You opened your arms and he very carefully got himself comfortable on your chest and, he wrapped his arms around you snuggling into you. You had a feeling that you were going to end up taking a nap, so that is exactly what you did. A nap wouldn't hurt anyone.

That nap absolutely wrecked your back and, you were regretting sleeping on the floor but, you didn't regret being with them. It was an intimacy you were not expecting to achieve this quickly but, it was positively received. You loved it. It made you feel as if what you were doing was the right thing because wouldn't you want your demons to trust you? Why wouldn't you want them to trust you as much as you trust them? You had gone back to your personal apartment after making sure the twins were okay by themselves.

"You had a nice nap with the quads today?" Tengen liked to refer to them as quads instead of two separate sets of twins. Either way, it didn't matter but, you still found it amusing. 

"I appreciated the nap greatly, however, my back didn't appreciate it." That earned a snort from Tengen who was making dinner for himself and the women. "Hey Tengen, if you don't mind me asking how did you meet your wives? Did you meet them all at once? Or individually?" You were curious but, if it was a touchy subject then you would leave it alone. It was quiet for a few before he started talking softly. It was the softest you have ever heard his voice since the day you rescued him from that house of horrors.

"I met all of them at the same time. We came from the same slaughterhouse and, we all were set to be slaughtered in roughly six months so we just bonded. We made a promise to each other that we would look after each other until our time came. They were the first ones who taught me what love was." That was a sad and unfortunate reality for a lot of demons. Most humans treat them like shit or show them a twisted form of love that is instilled into them just like it was done to Doma. You really hoped those demons become adoptable. 

"That's a bittersweet story but, I am truly glad that you guys weren't killed. I would have missed learning to love all over again." He gave you a look that you weren't sure how to decipher so you decided to elaborate. "I love you guys. You, Makio, Suma, Hinatsuru, Gyutaro, Daki, Kyojuro, Senjuro, Ruka, Shinjuro, Michikatsu, Yoriichi, Yuichiro and Muichiro. You do not have to love me back if you wish not to. None of you. I am not forcing you. I am simply stating how I feel." It was silent before you were tackled from behind. It was Suma and Daki. 

"I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU Y/N! I LOVE YOU!" It was Suma who was screeching this as she held you in a death grip. Daki had climbed in front of you to look at you in the face. 

"I love you too Y/N! You love my brother too, I can tell. No one has ever treated my brother the same way they treat me. That just makes me love you even more!" She hugged you tightly mushing her face onto yours as you sat there flabbergasted but, giddy at the same time. You were so happy right now that it felt as if your heart was going to burst. 

"...You love me." You looked at Daki and Suma who were watching in earnest as a couple of tears fell. You didn't expect their strong genuine reaction to bring you to tears. You were so happy. "I am so honored." You smiled at them giggling as they tackled you in a hug. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Hinatsuru, Makio, Gyutaro, and Tengen watching you three. If you didn't know any better you would say that they were smiling. You couldn't wait to earn their love as well.

This chapter is so much shorter than my other ones and I do apologize for doing that. I promise though that my next chapter will be my normal chapter length! Thank you guys so much for the positive feedback on this story, it motivates me so much to keep writing!
