As promised, Haganezuka made you a sword within a couple of weeks, which was extremely pretty. It was detailed, had intricate designs, and had a nice weight. When he brought it to you he was uncharacteristically shy and had brought you to his room to give it to you.
"I didn't want the others interrupting or stealing your attention." He was quite possessive of your time as well but, you didn't have it in you to reprimand him. That would mean you would have to reprimand just about everyone in this castle but, you definitely weren't about to do that.
"You have my undivided...attention." You trailed off as you took in the details of the sword. It was golden and engraved was your name surrounded by vines and flowers on the handle. When reflected in the light it showed a rainbow and depending on the angle, a specific color would show more. It was raw, talent.
"What do you think about it?" He was nervous shuffling side to side but, his eyes never left your face. He needed to see your reaction.
"It's the most thoughtful and intricate, and intimate gift I have ever been given." You looked up at him giving him a tender smile. "Thank you so much. You have amazing talent. I never want to see it go to waste. It makes you happy." He stood there frozen staring at you not sure how to react but, his body did. With no warning, he brought you up in a crushing hug off the ground and pressed you fully against him. He loosed a bit enough for you to hug back before his ferocity returned full force.
"...You really like it?" His voice was low and soft. This was a tender moment the two of you were having and you didn't want to interrupt it or ruin the peace by being loud.
"I love it and I am going to mount it to the wall in my room so when I wake up it will be one of the first things I see." The two of you stood in his room just hugging in comforting silence until he slowly pulled away and took a couple of steps back to give you space. You observed him for a bit before stepping back into his personal space and placing a tender kiss on his cheek. "I like this Haganezuka just a tad bit better than the crazed one. Even though I still like that one." You winked and left him to his own devices to go do exactly what you said you were. Once in your room, you already had mounts so you placed the sword in one of the empty sections, and stepped back to observe it. It was perfect.
"Y/N-Chan?" You turned to the door to see Tengen and his three wives at your door smiling at you. You smiled back walking to them to see what they wanted. "Um, we wanted to go to town but, don't want to go by ourselves..." You smiled at them going back to grab your keys and guiding them out the doorway.
"We can go. We can take the SUV since the UV rays are high today and I don't want you getting burned. Did you guys put on sunscreen anyway?" You had found a specialty store that sold sunscreen specifically for demons and you bought a pallet worth that all of them used only when they were outside for prolonged periods of time. Mostly the kids and your biological siblings used it but, on occasion, the rest of your family would use some.
"Do you think we can buy something?" It was Hiantsuru who asked and you nodded quickly. She never liked to ask to buy something but, on the rare times, she did you would agree immediately. You say yes to all of them if you're being honest. The five of you talked even as you got in the SUV and drove into town, where they had all the tents and markets. You noticed they gravitated towards this area that was only demons and you suspected it made them more comfortable to not be stared at by humans. Demons can be just as judgmental though. Not on your watch.
"Oh My God, we are here!" That was Suma and you smiled at her enthusiasm. You were right about her being Tengen's first wife, they were endearing and fed off of each other's energy which rubbed off on the other two. It was sweet.
"You guys be careful. Stay in each other's sight even if you're not in mine. I won't be far." You watched as they scattered but, still remained close to each other looking over their shoulders for each other and for you as well. You were looking for some new sweaters and stretchy pants but, not quite leggings. You were looking at some colorful sweaters since you had a lot of neutrals as it is when you felt something land on your head. You grabbed it noticing it was a basket before hearing a frantic voice behind you.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" The basket was taken out of your hands and you looked to see a woman demon about your height smiling at you apologetically. "My husband was playing around and it went flying!" You smiled at her in forgiveness but, something about her seems familiar.
"It's fine! It didn't even hurt..." You tilted your head a little bit at her. "I feel like I know you from somewhere, have we met before?" She gave you a confused look taking in your features.
"I don't think so. Maybe my husband you recognize? Kyogo!" You froze all the way up but, smoothed your face and body out just as quickly. It was just a coincidence. More than one person can have the same name.
"Yes, my love?" You turned around at a baritone and took a step back to stand next to the familiar mystery woman to stare at her husband. He eerily looked like Genya and Sanemi. Nah, Nah that couldn't be. The siblings always brought up their parents but, this was too much of a coincidence.
"This young lady right here said that she feels that she knows me but, I thought that she might know you." That's when he looked at you up and down before smiling sheepishly.
"I'm sorry, I don't know if we met before. Maybe at one point? I've come across a lot of people." You decided to just go for it and turned to the woman.
"Your name wouldn't happen to be Shizu?" She blinked taking a step back from you subconsciously towards her husband.
"...How do you know my name?" You took a quick glance to see that Tengen, Makio, Hinatsuru, and Suma were all together at one stand paying for something with their backs turned to you.
"The two of you wouldn't happen to have children, would you?" That's when you saw the defenses fly up and a snarl takes over Kyogo's face.
"Not anymore. Why? Why are you asking so many questions? What the hell do you want?" He was getting defensive and you figured they must think they were dead. Shizu looks like she's on the verge of tears. You were going to bulldozer on.
"Sanemi. Genya. Shuya. Hiroshi. Koto. Teiko. Sumi." Shizu started crying, and Kyogo looked like he wanted to punch you. Sanemi and Genya looked exactly like him. "Are very much alive and live with me." That's when the others came by you and noticed the two demons in front of you. Tengen stood in front of you protectively just in case eyeing Kyogo up and down.
"What's going on Y/N? Who are they?" You smiled at them your eyes never leaving the two parents who looked angry and distraught.
"These are the Shinazugawa parents." Tengen's jaw dropped turning back and forth to you and them.
"You guys should come with us. Sanemi and his siblings think you guys are dead. Please come with us." It didn't take much convincing for them to follow you and you didn't think twice about it. You'll come and shop another time or even later in the day. The whole ride was silent, the scent and looks of anxiousness all over their frames. The only noise you got out of them was when you pulled up to the castle and they looked on in awe.
"This is yours? How can a human have so much? Do your parents mind you bringing more of us?" You let out a giggle and waited for all of them to get out of the SUV before turning around to face them.
"Who said I was fully human?" You let your demon features show and they were surprised as well. "Now come, we got a family to reunite." That's when their nerves came back full throttle as you all went inside. Tengen and his wives took a different route as you took one towards the dining hall with the parents following you.
"I am so scared." You turned around walking backward knowing the way like the back of your hand.
"You have every right to be nervous. It's going to be one hell of a shocker for all of you and it'll take time but, you won't be rejected. That's the only thing I can reassure you 100 percent about." You turned back around to make a left towards the dining area.
"It's lunchtime and all of them like to eat together in this hall. Oh, and you're in luck because today is Thursday and for lunch, on Thursdays, all of your children like to be alone together so no interruptions." You made it to the doors and before you entered you turned to the parents with a smile "Let me greet them first and then when I say come in, you two come in, okay?" They nodded and you did it so they can steel their nerves.
"SAAANEEMMIIIII!!" They all jumped up at your yell of his name and the rest of the siblings squealed happily at the sight of you.
"Y/N!" Sanemi stayed at the table watching as all his siblings glomped you to the floor fully aware that the parents are waiting and can hear and see all of this going down. You greeted all of them with hugs and kisses letting them swamp and cuddle you. Once they were done that's when Sanemi came and picked you up off the floor in a hug. He's definitely gotten both stockier and taller, after getting proper nutrients and care he grew a few inches and his body built out more which you liked. You loved seeing him get healthy finally.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were out shopping with Tengen and his wives." He tilted his head at you even though he was subtly smelling the air. He knew there were two unknown demons at the door but, he wouldn't push yet. Y/N probably came to introduce them.
"Well, I was but, I got side-tracked and brought over what I think will be some welcome company." You ushered him to set you down but, he didn't let go until you kissed his cheek. Once you gave him payment he grinned down at you.
"So, who is this welcomed company?" You grinned skipping to the door a bit.
"You guys can come in." Slowly the door of the dining hall opened and you can hear a pin drop. Shizu broke down right there falling to her knees with a wail.
"MY BABIES! MY BABIES ARE ALIVE! MY BABIES! MY NEMI! MY GENGEN! MY BEAUTIFUL BABIES!" Time was frozen but, the little ones seemed to have snapped out of it stiffly walking before full-blown sprinting to their mom and tackling her while screaming and crying. You were by the door watching Genya and Sanemi stare at their mother before turning to their father as if he wasn't real.
"...You're not real." Genya was crying already but, it was Sanemi who said this. Both were shaking as Kyogo took tentative steps towards them reaching out to rest a hand each on their cheeks.
"Yes...I am." That started the waterworks on Sanemi who sobbed gripping onto his father for dear life right along with Genya. Kyogo fell to his knees and bent forward holding his boys tightly while sobbing about how much he missed them, how he thought they were dead. They were a train wreck now so you quietly left the dining hall, closing the door behind you as quietly as possible. They were going to be fine now. It will take a while but, now they are together and you doubt anything is going to separate them again.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been a couple of weeks since the Shinazugawa family was now complete. You had in fact gone back shopping that day to pick up the sweaters and pants you wanted along with some jewelry so that made you happy. Also, Shizu and Kyogo met everyone else and decided that the best thing for them to do was to move into the castle with your permission as well as your parents, and, honestly, you don't know why they would think you'll say no. Their lease was up at their old place anyway so, it worked out. Now, you get to see them bond with their children and catch up with just everything. You were currently in the kitchen when a voice came from behind you.
"I never got a chance to thank you." You jumped three feet with a yelp not knowing anyone was behind you. You turned around clutching your chest to see a very apologetic Kyogo. "That was not the way I was trying to say thank you." The both of you chuckled at that.
"It's fine. I'm glad I followed my gut. Shizu looks like your daughters but, then when I saw you, I instantly saw Sanemi and Genya. They are spitting images of you." The two of you talked for a while over food about mundane things, life, working, and how you got everyone just the work. It was a nice heart-to-heart.
"How did you find out you can both change into a demon and a human." That seemed to have intrigued him the most. You giggled at that.
"I was already slowly turning with better eyesight, better hearing, and super strength but, what brought it out completely was two ex-coworkers of mine who hate demons and see them worse than dirt were so obsessed with me and came over here with a mob of people threatening everyone. I wanted to kill them but, then who would protect my family? They all feel safe and comfortable here, and going places with me and in groups only in this city. Being used for everything derogatory under the sun made them fearful and hateful of humans. I don't blame them so I need to stay free and alive to make sure they stay safe." Kyogo looked at you then. He really looked at you before a small genuine smile graced his face.
"You have the most beautiful soul I have ever seen in anyone. Neither human nor demon has a heart of Gold like you." He went up to you rubbing your head and face affectionately as a father would to his daughter. "Don't ever change." He left you in the kitchen to ponder your thoughts. You thought about everything that has happened in the last almost three years. It's just about three years since you first were looking for a demon to have as a companion. Now, here you were with a whole family in a castle. Happy. They all were happy. You did well. You can pat yourself on your back because most people can not openly admit or say they did half of what you did. You never wanted anything back or in return. You simply wanted them to be happy.
"It's time I start focusing on myself. It's okay for me to catch a break." Clarissa had told you that the center is taking a break from adoption since they had too many demons to foster and try to make adoptable. They were taking a three-month break so you didn't have to worry about that. You finished your food and drink and decided to retire to your room early. Usually, someone would be in there already wanting to sleep together with you or you would wake up to someone in your room. It never bothered you, you found it quite endearing really.
"Y/N! It's my turn to spend the night with you!" As you exited the dining room you were bombarded by Akaza from behind. You giggled but, were slightly confused why he said that.
"Not that I don't love when you're with me but, what do you mean by my turn." He had picked you up and was carrying you over his shoulder
"Oh, I and the others made a schedule of when we get to spend time with you and tonight is my night. Of course, the children don't count they have free reign, it's just for us older ones we do it." That was thoughtful and made a lot of sense. You were just a tad bit surprised by how organized they were but, you had no complaints.
"So, you don't mind spending time with little old me." You giggled even though he hummed.
"Of course, I don't mind. In case you haven't realized all of us really like and love you. If it wasn't for you, who knows where we would be? Most likely dead or wishing we were dead. You saved all of us in more ways than one. Just like a lot of us love you in more ways than one." That was something you didn't feel like touching right now so you stayed quiet as Akaza filled the air with chatter as he made his way to your room. Once there he closed the door gently behind him and tossed you onto the bed with a laugh.
"Let me use the bathroom first then we can cuddle, I'll be right out." All of your toiletries were in the bathroom so after 20 minutes or so you came out in pajamas and went straight into your bed patting the spot next to you. He jumped right in pulling you close to him for hugs and snuggles. Now, this was your favorite part at night. Either going to sleep cuddling someone or waking up to being cuddled. You will take either or really.
"Goodnight Y/N, love you, sweet dreams." He pulled you insanely closer.
"Love you too Kaza." The both of you fell into the land of sleep holding onto each other.

Okay so here's the plan for the rest of the story. I'm going to introduce the rest of the demons I want to introduce in this story, focus on her love life and create a happily ever after because this book deserves to stay sweet and wholesome in its entirety. Thank you, guys, so much for taking the time to read, comment and love my story. It means a lot to me.
