You had to come to terms with the fact that you can in fact turn into a demon which was unheard of because once you're a demon that was it. There was no changing or going back but, when you reverted back to a human you had more questions than answers. You had talked to Avery and Julicia about your new discovery and they thankfully took it easier than you thought. They kind of expected it to happen but, they were just surprised that it took this long for any changes to actually take place. A soft voice calling for you brought you out of your musings.
"Mama?" You opened your arms and got an armful of Daki. She always did this any chance she got and you never corrected her about calling you mama so you stayed mama. "...I think you make a pretty demon." You looked down at her with a gentle smile as she looked up with an honest sweet look "You are beautiful mama! I love your eyes the most, they're so expressive. Now people won't question so much if you're my mama!" Your smile almost faltered at that but you squeezed her tighter to you.
"Regardless of how I look, I will always be your mama no matter what anyone tries to say." The two of you sat talking for a while before Senjuro, Rui, and Nezuko called her to go and play. You watched her thinking to yourself. It made sense to have heightened sight, heightened hearing, strength, healing ability, and the ability to make growling noises. Your nails were sharp but, all you had to do was cut them even though they grew back fast.
"Now you know how we feel." You turned to see Muzan with a small smile just standing there observing you. You gave a small smile back.
"I just can't believe it took this long for anything to happen...I used to be so jealous growing up that I was different from my siblings, and my dad. My mom and I had a lot of people assuming things, they assumed my mom committed adultery or that I was adopted. A whole bunch of nonsense. I want to be petty and shove it in their faces but, they're not important. We always knew the truth regardless of what other people said." He was silent throughout but, you missed the look on his face. He was looking at you in a whole different light.
"Y/N-CHAN!" The two of you turned to see Doma with Kotoha right next to him jogging towards you and you were already prepared for the body-slamming into you and then getting swung around. Once your world stopped spinning you saw Kotoha smiling brightly at the two of you. "I missed you Y/N! How are you? I see you're talking to Muzan-Sama." Doma still hasn't let you go and you got used to it. He loved you, you were the first person, the first, human he loved and Kotoha is the first demon he fell in love with. They were cute together.
"We weren't talking about much." Now it was the four of you together and all of you talking and conversing. It was nice. The three of them finally left after a while to do whatever it was that they wanted to do in the castle and leaving you to your own devices. Not for long though. You never had to worry about being alone for too long, you always had someone with you at all times of the day and night.
"Y/N, would you like to have tea with Kanae and me?" You turned to the gentle giant Gyo who was waiting patiently with a smile for your answer. You responded by giving him your hand.
"Lead the way, my love." He always had a smile when he was around you and you loved it. You loved how sweet even the roughest demons were once they felt safe and secure. It was a beautiful thing that you were willing to go through loopholes to keep. Once you got with Kanae you saw she was with Sanemi and none of you minded him being there. He was rather tame when he was with Kanae or his siblings. Tea time was great you had peppermint tea and you liked the coolness and mint flavor.
"What teas are your favorite? I can pick some up for you as well as a bunch of others we can try." The four of you discussed teas, coffees, other drinks, foods, snacks, and the works. It was a nice time, a nice conversation.
----------------------------------------------------------------
"I understand why you were scared of telling me the things that were happening to your body, but I would have known some way to help you." You were kicking your feet looking everywhere but, at your dad. You felt like a little girl who got caught doing something she wasn't supposed to do. Only your parents can make you feel like that without having to really do much.
"I didn't want to worry you or anyone else. The only one who found out was Kanae because she wanted to know why I was always going to the bathroom and was worried that I was sick and hiding something." She had every right to worry. That was her big sister's instinct. You looked up at your dad when he sighed and willingly went into his arms when he opened them up for you.
"You have a heart made of Gold, and a soul a Saint is jealous of. My sweet baby girl." You loved when your dad was affectionate. You were lucky. You knew there were a lot of girls and women unfortunately that don't know the true love of a real father so you cherish every single moment you can have with him. You're lucky that a demon lives longer and is more durable than a human so you get to enjoy him just that much longer.
"I love you too, papa." You spent a little longer with your dad before both of you went off to do something else. He probably was going to do some work while you were going to check your phone to see if they're any demons you need to go and get. You had a lot of money and can fight so you will always get the demons that you want. As you were scrolling you got a notification from Clarissa who you felt you can trust knowing that you were a demon. She wasn't exactly human herself and she was playing a dangerous game working in that city.
"Good news I don't know what you told Gyokko and the quads but in the last three weeks, they all have become adoptable. We also got a family called Ubuyashiki. It's the mom, dad, and their five children. I already know you want them so come and get them."
You smiled at that message and with a quick text to your dad to tell everyone you'll be back you left the castle heading straight to the adoption center. You didn't want to take up much time and you're sure Clarissa already explained to them what you are and that you're in fact a really good human. It didn't take long for you to get to the center where it was only Clarissa and there were no cameras in the area where they were kept so you felt it was safe enough. You turned to her with a look and she gave you a confused look back.
"I know you're not quite a human but, don't worry neither am I." You smiled making your eyes slit like a demon before returning back to a human face happy to see that she was surprised but, not all that surprised. She blinked and her brown eyes turned green and she smirked showing off her sharp teeth.
"Didn't think you were a demon." You smiled again at her snickering a bit.
"Surprise?" The two of you giggled as she gestured for you to go and get them. You were happy to see their rooms were already opened and the first one you got to was Gyokko who was already standing having heard and smelled you. You looked him up and down full blown grinning in his face. "It's nice to see you got your shit together Gyokko." He smirked nastily at you.
"I'm going to mop the floor with your ass." You laughed liking this demon already. He reminded you of Akaza and Sanemi combined.
"Got to catch me first pretty boy." You went to the other room to see the four brothers already dressed and to your utter astonishment, Sekido didn't look like he wanted to eat you. You blinked looking at his other brothers who had the same blank looks. No smiles but, they weren't angry or upset. It was more wariness and trepidation.
"You're going to keep staring at us or what?" Sekido definitely was an angry one but, you liked him. Since there were no cameras you showed your demon side and left it on even as the four followed you out followed by Gyokko. You looked behind you at them and saw they recognized each other but, chose not to say anything. More than likely uncomfortable being around you.
"There's another family here I am getting so be patient." You left them standing there to go see the family and holy shit they had quintuplets. The father was blind in one eye with hideous purple veins covering the left side of his face, his wife was beautiful and all of his children had the same vivid purple eyes their parents had. They all had the same shoulder-length haircut as well. "This the first time I've seen quintuplets, you guys are really a beautiful family." You didn't bother hiding your demon side needing and wanting them to trust you enough to leave this place. Even though you knew they would have followed regardless because that's what's been instilled into them.
"....So are you." Your smile went from large to small and genuine at the brave boy who complimented you. The only boy too.
"You're handsome yourself like your dad and your sisters are beautiful like their mom. Now come on. I think you guys are going to like where you're going." You blinked fixing your eyes back to humans watching as they all got up in synch to follow you. You made Gyokko and the four brothers walk in front of you not wanting them to bother the sweet family. Gyokko mushed you and then sped-walk in front of the brothers. Not one to take a hit like that you ran up behind him and slapped him on his lower back. Hard. He jumped straight up hissing at you.
"You asshole!" You laughed from the gut ushering him into the van with both of the flabbergasted families piling in right behind him. That had to be a strange occurrence for them because humans and demons never get along. At least here they're not supposed to and well you're not fully a human. The ride was mostly silent with you and Gyokko bantering back and forth. You're not sure what made Gyokko feel safe enough to act this way with you but, you were glad that he did in fact feel safe. The ride back was nice and you can feel the surprise coming off them in waves when you arrived at the castle. You were used to it. As expected you had demons waiting for you and you were surprised by their shock.
"GYOKKO! YOU WERE ABLE TO GET GYOKKO??" You turned to Akaza and Doma who seemed stunned to see the fish man was standing there as he snarled at them.
"What? You thought some human fucking killed me." Both nodded at him
"YES, YOU FUCKER!" Your mouth dropped at how they both said it in sync and started bickering with Gyokko. It looks like you had nothing to worry about when it came to him. When the brothers came out you saw Akaza and Doma blink in quiet shock but, nevertheless engaged in quiet conversation with the four brothers. You ignored the way Sekido and Aizetsu, you figured it out back at the center, were staring at you.
"...My children." You turned at an unheard voice and were surprised to see the father of the Ubuyashiki family embracing Giyu and Kyojuro who were outside and had fallen to their knees clutching onto him for dear life. Wow, you don't know if it's a sixth sense you have or just pure luck but, every single demon you bring into your life and family's life they knew someone. You were so glad. It was nice knowing that they will always have someone there for them. You love to see it. You gestured for all of them to go inside for the time being though.
"I'm glad that you guys are not alone but, I think you guys need to clean yourselves, get situated in your rooms, and eat." You turned to Gyokko who the whole time was staring at you as you guided all of them to where the rooms are at. "Yes, Gyokko I didn't stutter. Find yourself a room that is not taken, clean yourself, and then come and get some food in the main dining hall. Afterward, you are free to do as you please. Catch up with people or stay to yourself and come to terms with the fact that this is how you're going to spend the rest of your life. Well, as long as you want to stay here I supposed but, that's a long way ahead." You went to leave but, stopped at the feel of his hand on your arm stopping you in your tracks.
"...You really are a strange human, you know that right?" You smiled shrugging at him.
"To be fair I am not fully human as you saw at the center. Once you're settled I'll introduce you to everyone. Everyone here is a family to me. Including you now." This time he allowed you to walk away and find out the names of the Ubuyashiki family who now felt comfortable telling you. The dad is Kagaya, the mom is Amane and their five children are Hinaki, Nichika, Kuina, Kanata and the boy's name is Kiriya. Very pretty and unique names. You were glad that they weren't separated. You had a feeling that their children will get along with the other children here. They had their own playroom that you would consider a giant one-floor house but, you digress. They will never get bored here. Always have something to say, something to do, and someone to talk to.
"You're not an ordinary human Y/N." You turned in surprise to Amane who had used your name, which made you happy. You didn't expect them to be so comfortable so fast but, you assumed that the environment made them feel much more at ease.
"Well, I am not fully human so that plays a big part." You let your demonic features out letting them get a good look at you. You had no shame and nothing to hide. You didn't have to hide when home and at work, not even in this city. It's whenever you went back to your old city which was a hot spot for abused demons and fights rings that you had to hide your true self. "So, yes, overall I am not ordinary." You talked a little bit more with her before her family and she disappeared down the halls to find a room or rooms and Gyokko went in the opposite direction bickering back and forth with Akaza and Doma. You thought you were alone until you heard a voice behind you.
"You're not a liar like I thought you were." You turned to look at Sekido his face still neutral with his brothers right behind him. You thought you were going to have to worry about him walking with his bird feet but, he seemed to be fine with them.
"Lying never helped anyone. No matter how bad or negative the situation is and no matter how bitter the outcome could be, the truth prevails. Temporary lies work if it's to make sure your life remains safe. My life is not in danger therefore there was no need to lie." He hummed, a low sound before speaking
"How are you so sure that your life was not in danger?" You smiled softly at Sekido tapping your nose a bit.
"You were worried for your brothers' safety, their lives mattering more than anything in this world to you. Your aggression is both your nature and a scare tactic to keep you safe. Your heart knew I was not a danger but, your brain didn't and it still doesn't. I will prove it to you." They all stared at you with too many emotions passing their eyes before finally leaving the hallways to go find rooms. You were finally left alone with your thoughts to reflect on everything you did in the past year and some change. So much has happened and you had no idea how much can change in one year. Your family quadrupled in size, you became a demon yourself, moved into a castle, have a new job, and you're happy. Of course, you would be happier with a lover or lovers but, for now, you were happy. Maybe now was a good time for you to finally focus on your love life.
