Ch. 4: Two Demons in School

Dismissal.

"Little Miss, what are you planning to do now?" Zan asked me, approaching to my seat. He always do this so suddenly. He always makes the initiative.

"I'm going to confront Senna face-to-face."

"I don't understand why she would pick on a human like you."

Ah, that's right. He just reached the scene where she transformed to her semi-demonic form. He didn't reach it when I summoned my spear or even when it suddenly disappeared from my hands.

"Heh. Maybe because she also needs my heart. She collects the hearts of those rich and famous, doesn't she?" I stood up from my seat, taking my bag with me.

"Hmm that's right. It's good that you survived this long. All of them have not. They only had one encounter of Senna and they were never seen again."

"You say that so casually like it's none of your business. Think about what she might do to Palatino if she still continues her antics." I clenched my teeth, walking towards the exit. I want to go to the Royalties room now and confront her, I want to end this once and for all.

"So you're doing this not because of your own safety but because of Palatino?" He paused.

Even though he paused, I kept on walking until I eventually reached a distance where I couldn't talk that loud to someone so casually.

I told him to come using hand gestures. Not before long, he did follow up to me.

"Hey, Palatino is a stupid kind guy. I don't want to leave him alone with that smart evil demon. I guess this is what they call 'affection', doesn't it?"

"You and Palatino share the same feelings. So I guess you could say that you're now friends. And since the two of you are friends, we're also friends."

"Friends, huh..." I stared at the ground.

Without making an additional sound, I kept walking towards the direction of the Royalties room.

I remembered about Cervi once he mentioned 'friends.' What are friends to begin with? *Sigh*... Some words are really hard to understand. Oh well, if they say they're my friends, then they are my friends. Of course, I wouldn't forget about what Patricia told me before. Humans are also capable of manipulation and deception, this means they can lie if they're saying they're your friends... But this guy have been saving me all the time even if I don't tell him. I guess I'll trust this guy and his brother for now...

As my thoughts spiraled in my mind, I didn't notice the door of the Royalties room sooner until Zan pulled me by the collar.

"We're here, Little Miss."

I took a deep breath to prepare myself but I realized something's different. "Hey, why are you here with me?!" I asked Zan, confused and panicking.

"Calm yourself, Little Miss. I'm here to save you if you're in trouble. You saw it with your own two eyes that you were almost killed by that spear-bomb, right? I can't let that happen again!"

"I can handle it myself, thank you very much! So shut up and wait here until you hear a thumping sound or until you're about to go home!"

I entered the room, slamming the door to his face. I heard a faint thump on the other side. I guess he sat down.

"Senna, I know you're here somewhere. Show yourself, you coward!"

I looked around the room...and then felt her presence. So as I turned around to look, she was behind me all the time, threatening me with a bread knife to the neck.

"Make one sound and I swear, I'll kill you right here, right now!" Her voice sounded coarse and afraid.

I immediately countered her, twisting her arm and dropping her to the ground. She dropped the knife in the process. I trapped her, holding her arms tight to ensure she's not going to escape.

"Have you seriously forgotten..." She coughed. "That I'm still a demon?" A wide grin appeared on her face.

She then overpowered me. Our positions turned around. Now she's on the top and I'm at the bottom. She then summoned her staff-bomb, threatening me that she'll throw it outside...where Zan is!!

"Go on, try to fight me. It's either him or you. Of course as a demon, you're selfish as ever, not caring about what others felt, right? Let's go back to being friends, alright?"

"No.... Never. You betrayed me, you left me alone, you stabbed me at the back! Why would I ever fall in the same trick as that again?!" I screamed, pouncing at her, strangling her.

Even in this situation, I still see her smiling... Why?

"Why? Why are you still smiling?" I asked, surprised.

"Because I haven't seen that angry face of yours since forever. When was the last time? Oh yeah, when I betrayed you, left you alone, backstabbed you. Yes, that same angry face... Ahh, how nostalgic."

"Shut your face, shut your face right now!" I strangled her tighter.

I heard the bomb ticking louder, it's almost time to end...

As the timer reached 3, Zan entered the room. Senna's aim is good, targeting him perfectly. I have to act fast or else...

"Hey C, I heard a thump, actually a lot of them and I was wondering if--"

I immediately ran to him, grabbing the bread knife and slashing the staff before it even gets to us.

As the staff gets slashed in the middle, I saw chunks of flesh and blood splattered everywhere.

"H-huh? Th-this..."

"Since you slashed it, it will explode faster."

"Zan, run!" I told him.

"But--"

"RUN. NOW!" I shouted, pointing at the door.

He was still hesitating. But it didn't take long to decide for himself.

He pulled me by the arm and as the timer states "0:00", he hugged me tightly, his back facing the explosion. This time, I didn't look at the explosion directly. I shut my eyes close for a moment... And when I opened them again, my eyes flashed red, searching for where Senna might be.

I saw her in another room. A secret room perhaps? If so, I shall find out where the door is.

I deactivated my demonic eyes complete with demonic vision after the explosion ended.

"Little Miss, are you ok? You gotta be more careful with your decisions." Zan broke the hug.

"Zan... Shouldn't you be going by now?" I raised an eyebrow at him. I was surprised to see him still present here at this time.

"Oh shoot, I forgot!" He slammed his head. "Hey Palatino!" And with that, he dashed off outside, calling for Palatino to come.

As he shuts the door, I walked around, looking for a secret door. One was particularly standing out so I opened it. It was jackpot.

I walked inside, the eerie halls closing in. The darkness creeps closer. The silence became unbreakable. Even my footsteps can't be heard.

And once when I entered another door.... Where the hell am I?

I was in a place that looks like a science lab. Full of chemicals, poisons, and all other stuffs that I don't understand.

I continued walking until I hear a clanking sound. I immediately hid somewhere to avoid myself being seen.

"Gah! What the hell is this thing?! Is this what humans called 'medicine'? I'm keeping myself intact with this disgusting-flavored medicine, I hope this is worth it!" I heard Senna's voice echoing around, breaking the eerie silence that haunts this secret vault.

So this is the secret room where Senna is usually hiding. Yes, it seems that her body is gradually turning into human with her consent. So this time, her body cannot heal fast and so, she takes human medicine to heal her wounds.

"Heh. That's what you get, you worthless scumbag!" I smirked, leaning myself on the shelf where I was hiding.

"Huh? Celeste? I didn't sense you come in." She was surprised to see me, dropping the spoon she was holding.

"You know what, Senna, this earth isn't big enough for the both of us. One of us should return to the Underground or die in the hands of the other." I bravely told her.

"Say all you want Celeste but let me just ask you this: you really think that you can trust that comedian guy as your friend?" I flinched at her words. "I mean yeah, he saved you for like a couple of times but after that, would you really think that you can trust him?" She slowly walks towards me, sentence after sentence, growing my doubt with Zan. "Think about it. He offended you the first time you met, he encountered friends which also betrayed and backstabbed him and he still has friends that can betray and backstab him, he only cares about you because you care about his brother. Don't you think that's unfair? Because your feelings with him are genuine, his is a 'meh.'" She stops walking when she reached me, whispering to my ear as she said "how can you be so innocent around the humans? Don't you know their capability? Stop it with this act of friendship towards the humans, you don't need them."

I turned around, summoning my spear and pinning it against her. "That's where you're wrong." I told her. "I'm nice to people just like my mother did. Humans are actually really nice once you get to know them. Their capabilities vary too. And that act of friendship...isn't like ours."

Senna was about to move, trying to counter me but I put red chains on her limbs to stop her from moving.

"Now I understand your situation. You were experimenting and then something has gone wrong. Your experiment was a disaster. And for today's match, you lose..... Friend." Satisfied with my own last words to her, I stabbed her through the-- hearts?

"You really think I can let myself be killed by an amateur like you?" She broke the chains with all her might and summoned her staff, immediately hitting me away with it, sending me flying to the wall. "I stuff their hearts to protect mine. So, even if I'm a human, my heart will still be safe, making me immortal."

"Nope, that's not how humans work. Want me to demonstrate how they can be killed? First off, stab their hearts with a spear that has poison in it. The poison will soon be spreading around the whole body, even affecting the other hearts. Didn't think this through, did you?"

"What?" She asked. Perfect timing that the poison started sinking in. She started coughing a lot of blood, her demonic powers started draining out from her....until her own life started draining out from her. I can slightly sense her presence. A few more minutes, and even her demon presence would be drained. "N-no.... Wait... This is all wrong..." She tried her best choking those words out. "My experiments...all go to waste?"

I couldn't feel her presence anymore. I couldn't feel her breath, her blood flowing anymore. I couldn't sense any life left in here. She is now dead...6 years old.

Time goes by so fast in earth. I'm just 13 years old in Hell but in here, I'm 130 biologically. And she's just 60 years old. Even at that age for humans, that's still too young to die...

Tuesday.

"Zan!" I called out, running to him.

"What's up, C? How are you and Senna?" He asked, turning around to see me.

"I'll show you something regarding that Royalties room. I may ask you about how it is founded and more informations about it."

"I know someone who knows all about the school. Come with me." He smiled, offering his hand out to me.

I refused his offer but just walked beside him.

"So, where is this full of information student?" I asked, looking around the school, examining even the walls and floors.

"Over here." Zan pointed at a room, an office maybe.

I walked to the office or room and saw a boss guy sitting on a rotating chair.

"Little Miss, meet Delon, the informations guy that every school needs."

"Ah, Celeste Auden, the daughter of Patricia and Johnny Auden, or are they really?" He raised an eyebrow, making me flinch. "I know your little secret."

"What is he talking about, Little Miss?" Zan confusingly asked me.

"How much do you know?" I glared at him.

"Oh everything. Your family background, your personal life, and also...your identity." He smirked.

"Are you asking for a death sentence?!" I clenched my teeth, taking the bread knife from the Royalties room.

"Calm down, I'm not going to tell anybody about it, if that's what you're thinking. Just follow everything I say and your secrets will be safe." He stood up from his chair and started approaching me slowly.

"Woah there, kiddo. Don't you think blackmailing is bad?" Zan quickly ran in front of me, facing Delon as he outstretched his palm to him, signaling him to stop.

"Why are you protecting her when there's no danger? If she wants to cut a deal, she'll cut it. What do you say, Celeste?" He stretched his arms out for a handshake.

I quickly glanced at Zan, who's wearing a worried face. I looked back to Delon's hand, shaking it. "That's a deal. Where and when do we start?"

"We start at dismissal, in the Royalties room. See you there, Auden."

"Gladly." I responded. "Let's go Zan, we'll miss the bell."

As I close the door behind me as we exit, I asked Zan "why do you have contact with that guy?"

"I ask him about the informations regarding Palatino."

"You're such an overprotective brother."

"Oh, not only as a brother. I'm downright overprotective to everyone I'm close with, including you." He casually commented.

"I see... Yeah, I kind of noticed that..." I merely commented, my expression maintaining its unfazed self.

"Aren't you like, happy or glad that you're one of the people I'm close with?"

"...... Answer me honestly." I demanded. "You're just close with me because of Palatino, isn't that right?"

"Well, mostly, yeah."

"So if I haven't had any contact with Palatino, you wouldn't feel the same?"

"That....depends..." He glances on the side to hide his face.

"Well aren't you just wasting all your breath being with me. We're not even friends because of our relationship with each other, it's because of your relationship with your brother!"

He was silent for a few moments, staring at the ground like he's guilty. "Actually, to be honest..." His mouth started moving slowly. "I want to know if you're trustworthy. If you are, then I'll have no problems with you hanging out with my bro or even with me. And now I know that you are, I don't mind being your genuine friend. Palatino also seems happy being with you. This is not part of the deal anymore, remember that. The deal is over."

I squinted my eye unnoticeably, still going back and forth whether or not I trust this guy. I mean, he also seems trustworthy and all, he even experimented on myself to see the results! I guess he was afraid, afraid of what the possible dangers to his brother and himself might come, afraid of being betrayed... Those are not the actions of someone who's a betrayer. I trust this guy, I trust Zan.

I smiled at him, turning around then immediately faced the original direction I was facing.

"Hey, was that a real smile?" He asked, sounding like he's also happy.

"I don't know." I joked.

"Heh." He merely uttered.

Dismissal.

"You're very serious about this, Little Miss."

"Of course. If I want informations, I'll do any means necessary."

"Don't trust him."

"Don't worry. I don't." I smiled.

In the Royalties room.

"Oh, so you did come." Delon smirked.

"Of course. We had a deal, remember? Now, where should we start?" I crossed my arms impatiently.

"You're a demon, aren't you? You committed 3 murders, didn't you?"

"At least I can resist my demonic instincts for a month! I'm not committing any murders by then."

"But still, do you think that's enough?"

"I'm not here to hear my story from someone else. I'm here to ask you questions first before going to the real deal."

"Sure. What are they?"

"When was this room founded?"

"The same time Senna transferred." He quickly answered.

"So she is the president starting by then?"

"Correct."

"Then how about the secret room within this room?"

"Oh I haven't heard about that. Can you show me to where it is?"

Without saying a word, I lead him to where he wants.

"Ah, the Secret Lab that she's talking about. It's good to be here..." He relaxingly stated, enjoying the lab wholly.

"Tell me where this came from." I reminded him, following the paths he's taking.

"Senna also built this. Impressive, huh? Because she's also a demon."

"I know that."

"But since she's dead, there are only 2 demons in this school now."

"What?! There's another one?! Who is it? Who is it?!!!" I grabbed his collar, threatening to harm him if he doesn't speak sooner.

"That's top secret, Auden. But there is this one information that that's not too much of a secret: the most famous but not rich student in this school hates you. She will attempt to bully you, hurt you, make fun of you, until you will eventually give up." His grin doesn't wear off.

I eventually let him go. "What's her name?"

"Veronica Star."

"So I just got to avoid her at all costs, right?"

"That's impossible. You can't fight or avoid her. Zante can always help you, don't worry. Don't underestimate him, he's more powerful than you think."

"I see..."

"My turn." His grin grew wider than ever, turning it into a creepy smile. "I want to experiment on a demon's body for so long. Actually, I was about to do it on Senna but you killed her so you're the next victim. So go on, sit down on this chair." He presented a rather uncomfortable chair. "This is part of the deal, no?"

"H-hey, wait, don't you think that's too much? I'm just asking within your capability, that's beyond mine!"

"You cut the deal Auden, you cut the deal." He took a ray gun, don't know what it's exactly called, and began shooting at me.

I kept dodging it in this human form. While I'm completely helpless, he keeps laughing maniacally, as maniacally as a demon. No, not just a demon. Like a...Demon King.... Abaddon... F-Father.... B-but...he doesn't laugh like that... I never seen him laugh like that...

"What's wrong? Why don't you transform already? Or else you'll end up being wounded." He taunted.

And like waiting for its cue, the ray hit my shoulder, blood came gushing out.

"Go on already, transform to your demonic self!" He demanded.

I held my wounded shoulder in pain, glaring at him.

"Why do you want me to transform so bad?"

"Experiment." He simply answered, trying to hit me again.

I was about to run or jump again to avoid his attack, but I was surprised to see my feet being stitched on the floor. I don't know how this came to be, I'm really curious on how he did it. But for now, that information's gotta wait. I have to escape this fast or else I'll end up being blown into million pieces before I say my last words.

I merely clenched my teeth as I aggressively accepted my soon to be death....but in the last second, a guy suddenly popped out of nowhere, twirling a bread knife to counter the ray.

"Huh? Why are you here? Why are you foiling my plans?!!!" He angrily asks the hooded guy in front of me-- Zan.

"Lighten yourself up, kid. I already told you that blackmailing is bad but this is too extreme, don't ya think?" He confidentially answered, playing the knife around his arms.

I flopped to the floor, feeling helpless. The thump made the two draw attention to me.

"What happened to you, Celeste?!!" Zan panicked. I'm not really sure but I think I saw a small glint of blue in his left eye as he spoke.

"Ugh, I'm stuck to the floor!" I lazily answered.

"No, not that. But what happened to your shoulder?! It's bleeding!" Captain Obvious stated.

"Tell me something I don't know." I blankly told him. "Isn't it obvious? That guy shot me with that gun that shoots who knows what. Maybe rays or something, I don't know."

"Can you stand up?"

"I can but I can't walk. Besides, I'm too tired to try any-- LOOK OUT!" I quickly pointed at the ray gun as it shoots another ray, almost hitting Zan.

Zan notices it as soon as I point at it, but I realized that the speed is not enough for him to dodge it.

I then created a forcefield to protect him instead, reflecting the ray, going back to the gun. The gun was destroyed by the ray but Delon threw the gyn before it did.

He smirked triumphantly and clapped slowly as he walks to Zan.

"My, my, so this is a threat to you. You don't care about yourself, but with someone else, you're suddenly fine with this." He examines the forcefield...and then suddenly breaking it!

"What the--" I wasn't able to finish my sentence as the shattered forcefield was too much for any words to describe what just happened.

"You begin questioning my capabilities, aren't you? Do you remember anyone who can weaken or cancel out someone else's powers?"

"Power Negation... Wait, no...." My thoughts spiraled in my mind as a lot of questions entered. I was able to mumble out his name... "Lucifer..."

"What's wrong with you people?!!!!" Zan snapped in the background. But we both ignored him.

"You.... You're the other demon in this school..."

"Tell me something I don't know. Oh wait, you can't. I know every little thing. After all, I'm not being called as someone who knows it all for nothing." He smirked.

"But how...how did you stitch my feet to the floor without me noticing it?"

"I didn't. In fact, it was yourself that triggered that trap, not me. Maybe you yourself is immune to pain so you didn't notice until you decided to run away." He cleverly explained.

"Wait, if you know that trap, you know this place! You knew this all along yet you tricked me to showing it to you so that you could only let me transform! You planned this all along, did you?! You were bugging me to transform in the first place!!" I hissed at him, still not transforming to my demonic form.

"Oh, how stubborn you are. I wonder why that is. Maybe I can quit the subtle acts and let's get right to the point." He immediately grabbed the confused Zan and pointed a small gun at his head. "Transform or I'll shoot." He glared at me.

I sighed, surprising both Lucifer and Zan. "Go on, shoot him. I don't even care anymore." I motion him to just go ahead.

Lucifer was too surprised to even continue but I used my telekinesis to shoot Zan immediately ending it all.

"H-huh? Why did you--?" His confused face made me giggle a bit.

"Despite being able to cancel out other's powers, I wonder why you didn't use that power to good use and cancel out mine. Were you too distracted by how laid-back I am?" I teased, smirking widely.

"Wh-why...?" His overall expression makes me want to burst in laughter! He's like missing an information or something.

"Check the gun." I whispered, using my telekinesis to levitate Zan away from him.

He was obviously surprised to see the gun that is used for letting people forget. Amnesia Ray Gun...

"You're not the only one who knows everything." I smirked. "But I have two questions for you, so if you know everything, you'll answer it non-hesitantly, right?"

"Y-yeah..." His self-esteem seems to be lowered.

"Ok, 1.) why did you reveal yourself so soon? and; 2.) why did you suddenly attack me?"

"I... I lost, didn't I? Well.... I guess I'll have to answer honestly. I have no tricks left in my sleeves so...." He heaved a heavy sigh, dropping the gun. "First of all, I'll answer your second question. You heard about Veronica Star right? I just told you about her. She ordered me to attack you, knowing that I know a lot of informations about students, including you. She figured that I can blackmail you in some way, attacking you if I have any chance to. I accepted this because she'll let me have some of her wealth but you know I don't care about that. I just care about the fact that she'll do whatever I say for one week... But seeing you suffer by my hands isn't really worth it. I revealed to you that I'm a demon in the most subtle way I can because I was guilty... Now, I have no access to enslave her. You go on ahead, Celeste. Leave me alone here. I'll be fine."

"I had a nice chat with you, Lucifer." I weakly smiled. "But I'm taking this with me." I took off his small hat that's barely visible and took out the camera hidden in it. "I knew there was something about how you wanted me to transform so bad. That's why I didn't want to transform. Are you going to show this to Veronica and she'll post it somewhere, blackmailing or humiliating me? Sorry about that but you'll have to find another master and a demon to play with. My secret's too big of a deal to carelessly just show off to anybody." Then I crushed the camera, and all other cameras he's hiding until he has nothing left.

With that as my parting speech, I walked out of the Secret Lab, carrying Zan. I left Lucifer alone, just like he told me to.

I dropped him to the Royalties room, where I sat beside his unconscious body.

"By the way, with all your questions answered, how about I ask you this: why didn't you destroy the Secret Lab, despite that Senna is using this to torture people and healing yourself in every attack you inflict on her?" Lucifer said in the distance. I didn't look at him.

"Personal reasons." I merely answered. It surprised me that he didn't pry in any further. He was satisfied with my simple answer.

"I understand. Call me if you want to know about the informations you need. This time, I won't deceive you." I hear his footsteps echoing in the silent room, walking further away until he exited by the door.

While still waiting for Zan to wake up, I glanced at my wound on my shoulder, and it immediately healed, without any traces of blood left. But even though my skin regenerated and clean, I can still feel the pain throbbing.

I stared at Zan for a few more seconds, like 15, and I was secretly glad that he woke up.

"Little Miss....?" He slowly opened his eyes. Seeing my worried face, he jolted to sit up, again, I saw that glint of blue in his left eye. "Why am I here? Did I fall asleep here? I don't remember falling asleep here!" He panicked.

"Calm down, Comedian. Maybe you just didn't remember falling asleep here. I tried to wake you up but you couldn't. Delon already left because our deal is done so I volunteered to look after you when you awake."

"Heh, thanks. That's really thoughtful of you..." He glanced on the side. I can see his embarrassment as he blushed a light pink.

"Oh, not really. I felt like I was forced to do it because I owe you for saving my life twice."

"Welp, you can say that I'm.... Zantastic!" He smiled widely, nudging me on my wounded shoulder.

Even though my expression didn't change because of that bad pun, my expression changed due to the pain. Humans are so fragile, geez! I flinched to the pain, surprising Zan.

"What's wrong?" He sounded genuinely worried.

"Uhh, it's nothing. Don't worry about it. Anyway, let's go back." I said, standing up. He followed.

"Are you sure? Did Delon do anything to you?"

"Nah, it's fine, don't worry. You should be going now right? I'll be going as well."

The uneasiness Zan felt didn't wear off that easily. He became suspicious of me, of my actions. I can't do anything about it. This is my most idiotic obvious lie yet...

But I didn't read too much into it. I'm glad he's not really prying any further more informations right now, or else I'm in trouble.

For today, I resigned, going back to the Auden residence.

I had a day, that's for sure.

Every night, I visit Cervi as a promise....

"Cervi." I called out.

"Celeste, I have great news!!" He excitedly said.

"Woah there, calm down." I chuckled. "What's this great news?"

"I'm getting adopted!!"

My eyes widened, my jaw dropped-- no wait, my whole body dropped and widened. I was very surprised at this news.

"Does this mean....?"

"Yes! Isn't it great!?" His sparkling eyes and widened grin told my mouth to shut up and pretend to be happy for him.

"Uhh y-yeah... B-but... Where are you by then?"

"Oh..." He bowed his head in realization. "I... I'll....be here, before my adoption... So be here...in the morning."

"Morning? Can that be adjusted to afternoon or night instead?"

"Oh yeah, you have school right? Well, I'm not really sure. They said that I'll be adopted by morning so..."

"Tch." I clenched my teeth. "Fine! I'll be here by morning!"

"Thank you, Celeste."

I wonder if I'll regret this...

Wednesday.

"Excuse me but please move away. You're in our way." A woman said, assuming that it's Cervi's foster mother.

"No." I blatantly responded.

"Celeste! You really did came!-- wait, what about your classes?"

"You know her?"

"Shut up." I interrupted. "So, where are you taking him?"

"To our h--"

"Can I go?" I immediately asked permission.

"Can she, mom?" Cervi acted excited again.

"Ugh. Bless your face, I can't say no to that." She averted her attention, but also accepting my permission it seems.

So I hopped on the same vehicle as them.

I waited for a few minutes before we dropped by my school.

"What's the meaning of this?" I raised an eyebrow, crossing my arms.

"Sorry, but first, I'll let Cervi enroll here."

"Are you kidding me?! Can you even enroll a child when the classes already started?!!" I asked her

"Of course." She non-hesitantly answered. She reached out for her wallet and presented stacks of cash in her hands.

"Whatever you say." I rolled my eyes. "Well, I think you don't need me anymore. I'm going to school now."

"Hey, wait, leaving so soon?" Cervi tried stopping me.

"Don't worry, this school is my school. Call me when you need me. I'll be at the classroom to the far right in the 3rd floor." Then, I continued on walking until I reached my classroom.

I opened the door to my classroom like it's in my house and entered without any respect. There was a brief silence, and everybody stares at me like I'm some kind of bad guy.

"Why are you late?" Ms. Sabin asked me, glaring.

"Important personal matters. Nothing you can know about."

"Oh? And why is that?" She smirked, waiting for me to get in trouble.

I see Veronica staring at me too, imitating Ms. Sabin's expressions towards me.

"Why do you pry informations from me? Can't you respect privacy?"

"Maybe you just stayed home and cried because of what happened yesterday." Veronica butted in.

Hmm... Oh, maybe she was talking about Lucifer! And he didn't tell her the truth because she would probably kill him, or just erase his face of being popular.

"What? Why would I cry? Am I missing a scene here where I'll have to cry?"

"Stop acting dumb! You know that Delon attacked you!" Veronica snapped.

"What? He didn't attack me at all. How would you know that he attacked me?"

"Ggh!! C-cause, cause...."

"You can't say that you were following me nor that you were watching me because you told everyone a lie and humiliated yourself. You're too easy." I sighed.

As soon as I sighed, Cervi meekly knocked on the door and excused himself as he walked in.

"C-can I talk to C-Celeste?" He shyly asked.

"Ok. What's your name dear? What's your relationship with Celeste? What did Celeste do earlier? Why is she late? Why--"

"Calm down. He's just asking for me and nothing else. You're scaring him, you know that?" I said, walking towards Cervi. "What do you want?" I asked him.

"I want you to eat with us later. Meet us in Dead Meat at 4:30 pm. Dead Meat is located--"

"Maybe my driver knows where it is." I interrupted.

"Ok. See you later, Celeste!" He smiled brightly, waving as he leaves. I slightly waved back.

I silently walked back to my seat.

"Who was that?"

"Cervi." I quickly answered.

"No I mean, what's his relationship with you?"

"Friend."

Ms. Sabin squinted at me in suspicion but I ignored it... Like how she ignored the fact that I was late after Cervi barged in the classroom... Humans are so boring...

Dismissal.

Walking around the hallways as usual, planning to hang out with Cervi as he invited. Thoughts circled through my mind as I walk.

"Hey Little Miss." Zan popped out of nowhere.

"Zan!" I exclaimed. Too much thoughts went in my mind that my mouth shuts its own, stopping any words to come out of my mouth.

"You were walking too fast without any notice to your surroundings. In a hurry to meet up with your friend?"

"Heh. Maybe."

As soon as I answered that, someone suddenly tugged my blouse, then my whole body! I was too overpowered by this power. I guess this is Lucifer's antics again.

Zan was about to chase after me but someone traps him with their hands... I was...taken away.

And before I knew it, I'm in this Information room.

"Lucifer, what do you want?!" I quickly got back to my feet as I confront his rotating chair.

"I want you to--" before even continuing his own sentence, he came up to me and cancelled out every bit of my power, even as a human. "Fight with me."

"Huh?"

"And because I helped Veronica, as much as she believes, as much as she hates to listen to your 'lie', I told her to keep Zan away from you as I drag you to this room."

That explains everything...

"Why would you want to fight me all of a sudden?"

"We are two demons here in this school. There's only room for one."
