As the woman lets me in her house, I was amazed at the house. It looks simple but nonetheless, easy to live in, I suppose. I mean, all the basic stuffs for living are here. This should be enough, right? And besides, I'm still a demon in a form of a human so I guess it's alright. I just want a cushion to sleep in for the night.

"Ok. For tonight, this will be your new home. I'll work for something tomorrow. Do you want to eat something?"

"What do humans eat?" That thought entered my mind. I'm not particularly starving but I just want to know what humans eat.

"What are there to eat?"

"We have apples, bananas, fruits. Do you want to taste them?"

Apples, bananas, fruits. Ok. Humans don't eat souls, got it. There's no souls in sight.

"No. I'm still full." I lied.

"Suit yourself then. Oh, and we have a bed too. You should sleep there. Hehe."

We walked through the hall and I saw a big red figure and a long yellow-- wait, isn't that what we release? Eew, so humans eat these things?! I'll never eat that long yellow thingy ever again! Yuck! These humans have no taste. Literally! Ugh, I'll just have to kill a suffering human and eat their soul as food. But, because of this condition, maybe I'll just have to eat one soul until the light sinks.

"Sleep tight." The woman told me.

"Ok." I smiled.

And with that, she turned the artificial light off and left me in bed. I see there is another exit here, not just by the entrance. I don't know what structures these are. It's just very unfamiliar with me!

I flew away the small exit and looked for a suffering soul to eat... Aha! There's one! A businessman whose family are dead! This guy doesn't even want to work anymore! Hahaha!!! Too bad his day will have to get worse.

"Hey there old chum. How ya doing?" I cheerfully asked the businessman.

"Huh? Who are you?" He asked as he raised his head up high. I can see dark circles around his eyes. I heard that it's a sign that humans don't get enough sleep. But demons don't sleep so I don't really know. Haha!

"I'm your guardian angel! I'm here to tell you that even though your family's dead, you still have hope for a future!" I put up a facade as hard as I can. Just kidding, it was easy. We deceive all the time!

"Really? How so?" His eyes sparkled.

"You will become a great businessman, even if you don't think so. Just believe in yourself and everything will be just fine!"

At one split-second, I saw that man's eyes filled with joy and excitement. His body is full of hope.

"Just kidding. You will always be a worthless piece of trash bag." I put on my serious face and ate his whole body in one chomp. There's awful a lot of blood but I think it's more fun if human officials will see this and will not suspect a 13-year demon. Hahaha!!!

Much better. My hunger has indeed been satisfied. Now, I need to go back before anything else happens.

I flew back to that woman's house as invisible and cleaned myself to remove the blood. That soul was really satisfying, I have to say.

Before the light reappeared, I have successfully cleaned everything up before the woman awakes.

"Good morning! I have news for you." She happily said. She approached me slowly. "I will bring you to the orphanage." Her face seems like she mustered up all of her courage just to tell me this sentence.

"Before you do, can you teach me some things?" I completely ignored that courage, being selfish as I am. "What is that? That thing, disposal?"

"Yes, a garbage disposal."

"How about the falling water from heaven?"

"That's rain."

"That entrance?"

"Door."

"The natural light that sinks and reappears?"

"Sun. And, if it sinks, the new light is called moon. After the moon sinks, the sun will reappear. That is called the day. When the moon sinks and the sun will reappear and vice versa."

"A day, huh... It's like a year but shorter?"

"Oh, I'm surprised that you know about the years but not the days. But you're correct. I'm happy for you. Let's get you ready for the orphanage."

"What's an orphanage?" I tilted my head.

"It's like a house for homeless and parentless children." She explained. Her expression seems like she's sorry...about something. Is she leaving me?

"Is that supposed to mean that you're leaving me?" I asked curiously.

Hesitantly, she bowed.

"Why?.... I thought you told me that you will not!!! Was that all a lie?!" I shouted at top of my lungs.

"I...I just want to keep you safe so I...I will leave you to a safer place."

"Heh... So that's how it is, huh. Let me tell you about the truth in this world." I looked at her with upturned eyes, crossing my arms like I'm some kind of delinquent. "In this world, it's never safe. So what? Do you want me to also leave you to a safer place? Much safer than this cruel world? You know that there's heaven up there right? If you're being good, I can leave you to that safe place."

With that kind of speech, she was left speechless.

"I-it's a different topic... Just let me do this...for your own sake."

I don't have anything to say back so I kept my mouth shut. I just accepted her offer to let myself live in some other house for the homeless. I was sent here homeless after all.

We rode vehicles just to go in this orphanage.

"I'm sorry but please bring her in. I can't take care of her because no one can if I'm at work and I'm just poor, I can't afford a babysitter! So please....take care of her." She begged, kneeling down with visible tears flooding her eyes.

"I understand. We will take care of her thoroughly." Another woman said. I think she's also living in this orphanage.

She turned to me with a smile. "What's your name dear?"

"Celeste." I plainly answered.

"What a lovely name your mother made for you! Right?" She turned to the woman as if that's my mother!

"Ah, no, I'm not--"

"This woman? My mother? Don't joke with me! Don't compare my mother to this old hag!!" The two women were surprised. I guess they saw how sharp my teeth were when I shouted at them. After all, I have to keep my human shape in bay or else they'll discover that I'm not really a human.

"That's not nice, Celeste. Celeste is a pretty name even. Don't waste it like that." The orphanage woman told me nicely. Her voice is very soft and gentle.

"Shut your mouth like you know how my name is made, you good-for-nothing piece of trash!" I pointed at her. "You're just working here because you think that worthless god is gonna help save you and these children! You're too dependent on him!" I boldly announced the offensive truth.

"Celeste... Why won't you have a snack? Maybe your stomach is empty." She keeps her nice facade. Ugh, give it up already orphanage woman!

I frantically shook my head.

"Would you like a banana?" She asks, taking a banana from a wooden basket.

I tried my very best to keep my distance unsuspicious, as well as my expression. If she knows that this is my sole weakness, she'll take advantage of me and will train me as her slave!

"I'm not hungry." I tried really hard to keep up my straight face.

"Ok." She took the banana away. "Hmm... Maybe play with those children over there. I hope you could get along!"

I walked towards this playing field and looked for other humans. I'm new here so I'll not be surprised if everyone got along with each other far longer than I have.

"Hey there, what's your name? Mine's Cervi!" Cervi stretched his arm out.

"M-mine's Celeste..." I stared at Cervi's arm, not knowing what to do.

"Go on, don't be shy. Don't leave me hanging!"

Hanging? Is this kid tied up in a rope or something? What is he talking about when he talks about hanging?

"Hey, it's called a handshake. You put your hands to mine and--" as he was explaining, he was also demonstrating it to himself. As he said the word "and", he grabbed my arm but I aggressively shook it with ease.

"Stay back! If you touch me, I'll rip your intestines out!!" I instinctually prepared myself for a fight.

"Woah, I'm not going to harm you. I'm just teaching you how to greet someone properly. Saying your name won't deepen your friendship with someone. Go on, try to shake my hand. They're not dirty, I promise."

"Sh-shake hands? Like, you touch each other's hands?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah." His grin reached from ear to ear as his eyes sparkled. "Here, I'll shake your hand instead."

As he approached me with his hands, I backed away with a disgusted expression.

"I-I'd rather not to. What if you're planning something?!"

"Don't worry. I'm not." He assured me with his voice.

I read his mind. He doesn't have any motives against me. I guess that's a relief.

Before he reaches his hand out to mine, I forcefully grabbed his wrist to stop him from moving. I tried my best to not break his wrist. As I locked his wrist down, for the first time, I held Cervi's hand, removing my hand on his wrist.

He stared at me with a little fear visible. I'm still holding his hand. I can't hold a human's hand for this long!

We were standing there, emotionless. He's seeing me resisting all my strength to wreak havoc in this place, more importantly, to himself.

He assured himself that I won't do anything else and, taking advantage of my hand in his hand, he shook it with an appropriate pressure to my hand.

After that, he lets go. I did too, at the same time.

"That's how you shake someone's hand. Don't be tense, come on. How about we practice this everyday so you'll get used to this?"

I bit my lower lip, hesitance came crawling all over my body. I don't know what to do...

"O-ok..." I figured that if this really helps me deepen my friendship to a human, I can easily catch them off-guard and I will eat their souls right after that. They're suffering inside, aren't they? If they found out that one of their friends betrayed them...then it will be easier.

"Great!"

"C-can you also teach me about...other stuffs as well?"

"Sure!" He smiled brightly, ruffling my hair.

Somehow...that human's contact with my hair doesn't bother me. His contact with my hand really bothered me but why wasn't I bothered when he messed with my hair? Is this a power of a human that after they made contact with an unknown person, that person won't bother being made contact again? Humans really are an interesting species. I wonder how they do that...

Month 3, Day 2 since I got in the orphanage...

"Celeste, are you excited of being adopted?" Cervi asked me excitedly.

"If that particular family has a high standard in society." I briefly explained.

"Hahaha. Being a realist as always, I see." He giggled.

"But I'm not particularly excited like that. If I'm not with you then it's not really worth it."

"What?! Really?! Aww, you're so sweet~~"

"That's not really my point but it will be too complicated if I reveal too much about it." I denied, still being calm and composed as ever.

"I have a very great surprise for you... You're being adopted!!" He stretched his arms out to cheer me up. I let out a small smile. "You smiled! You smiled, you smiled, you smiled!!! Hehehe!"

"Yeah, yeah. Shut up." I quickly turned around to hide my small smile. "Do we have any contact after I got adopted?"

"Maybe not."

"Then I'll visit you every night!"

"Won't you get in trouble?"

"Not at all! I sneak out from the windows every night, so I guess that's fine!" I smiled brightly, excited to see his face after the sun sinks and the moon rises. Stars will shine brightly in the dark relaxing sky.

"But soon, you'll have to go to school and...be too tired to even visit me every night..." He bowed his head in despair.

"School? What is that?"

"You know, you need to study to feed your brain some more knowledge and information. There's a building that's called. You call that building a school."

"I see..."

After learning that information, I counted the hours until someone had barged in the room to make announcement. It was 2 hours, and then that particular someone barged in, breaking the silence.

"Celeste~~~!" Oh god, her mouth doesn't stop, does it? "I have big news for you! You're so lucky, you know that?"

"Why?"

"You're getting adopted!!.....by the Auden family!"

"Auden family? Wow, that's amazing Celeste!" Cervi seemed happy. But underneath that smile, I knew that he's hiding something. Is it jealousy? No, it's not that. I can feel his soul, not suffering at all.

"Cervi, do you know anything about this?" I pinned all my suspicions on him.

"N-no. Not at all." I see him trembling and all that.

"That's useless against me. Do you not remember? I can sense your lies...because you're an open book, I can see right through you."

He stayed silent. I knew it. He has something to do with this.

"I'll prepare everything soon. Hope you will be finally happy about your life, Celeste!" Maria, the sister, said before she exits the room.

As if really waiting for Maria to exit, Cervi started moving his mouth to speak. "I'm supposed to be the one to be adopted by the Auden family... I'm staying here for about a year now and no one doesn't want to adopt me. So I was really happy with that news... But I remembered that you want to have a family that has a high standard in society. I wasn't sure that time so I asked you again earlier and was relieved that I did the right thing... I told the Auden family that someone else is worthy of their name-- you. So please...don't forget about me Celeste..."

"Why did you do that? Why are you being nice to me?!!" What is this I'm feeling? My heart tightens, and this feeling I get... I didn't ask him to be this nice to me! Wh-why? Why?!! What is this feeling?!!

"Because you're my friend." He simply answered. He didn't smile or frown. His expression didn't change a bit!

"H-huh...? Sh-should I repay you? I...I think I should... As long as I'm not in school yet, I will surely visit you, Cervi! Don't go please! Don't leave! Maybe once I visit you, you're already gone. Don't leave me, AAAHHH!!!!!" I clutched my head tightly.

"C-Celeste! Hey, don't worry too much. I won't leave this place..." He tried comforting me.

"B-but if you won't, th-then you won't be happy because you won't get adopted..." My eyes started to form water... Do humans have water inside their bodies? That's so gross! What is this feeling? It's so gross! "Wh-what is this? I hate water. Why is it coming from my eyes? It's gross, it's so gross! Gah!"

"It's called crying. When I think about it, this is the first time you cried." He puts his finger to his chin, as in to properly remember if I did cry or not.

"It's gross. Crying is gross." I grimaced.

"Oh yeah, now I also think about it, you hate water, don't you? Why?"

As soon as he asked that, my heart sank. I was in a dilemma to tell him the truth or not...

Because I trust him so much, I mean, he's the only one I trust, I wanted to tell him this secret. If he reveals it to anyone, I won't hesitate to end his life right now.

"B-because--"

"Celeste, everything's prepared. Go on and greet your new family." Maria interrupted. Well, Cervi should thank her. If she hasn't come, I should've revealed my terrifying secret.

"Well, I gotta go Cervi. I'll visit you later at night." I waved, bidding him goodbye.

I exited the room with no sign of expression on my face.

"Oh is this the dear Celeste you're talking about? She exceeded my expectations! Welcome to your new family, Celeste. From now on, your full name is Celeste Auden." An unknown woman told me. I guess this is Mrs. Auden, my new mother. "My name is Patricia, Patricia Auden. Call me Mom from now on."

"Mom...." I mumbled.

"And I am Johnny, Johnny Auden. Call me Dad from now on."

"Dad..." I again mumbled. "Mom and Dad, huh... What's your status in society?"

"Oh dear, we're one of the families that have very high status in society. We're very wealthy and popular. You're very lucky that we picked you."

As she said that, I remembered the times where adults will ignore me because of my attitude, or even mainly in my presence. Of course they would also ignore me because they were supposed to adopt Cervi instead. But that boy remembered what kind of family I wanted...

"Yeah right. I know what that goody-two-shoes did. You didn't want to pick me first, did you? That guy told you to adopt me instead! I don't care what your position in society is, if you really don't want me, I won't complain and leave in a blink of an eye! What do you say, Patricia and Johnny Auden?" I shouted.

"My, you have no respect towards the elderly." Patricia stated.

"No respect?! Why you--!" I gritted my teeth, clutching my fists tightly.

"It seems that I made a regrettable mistake listening to Cervi." Patricia glared at me.

But my glare is better than hers. She doesn't stand a chance.

Little did we notice that Cervi is just watching in the corner, timid as ever.

"Cervi?" Patricia and I simultaneously said as we noticed him at the same time.

"Please don't fight..." He weakly said.

"We weren't fighting dear. We were just...talking. Yeah, we're talking about how we should live together. Hehe." Patricia scratched the back of her head, thinking that her lie is convincing to this kid.

"Celeste?" He asked. He knows that I'm always saying the truth, no matter how it seems offensive or harsh.

There was a brief silence before I sighed. "She's not lying."

Cervi's eyes widened in shock. "You're not lying, are you?"

"Why would I? Besides, I never lied to you, have I?"

He was left speechless... "I want you to be happy Celeste. Please don't be disappointed with the Auden family." He said before going back to his room, along with the others.

When he was out of sight, Patricia glanced at me. "Even though we might have a lot of differences, there's one thing we have in common-- we both love Cervi. So, can we ignore our personal feelings for each other, as long as we see Cervi happy?" She offered his hand out.

"Don't take this the wrong way, lady. I covered up your lie solely because I don't want to disappoint him. But I won't go as far to ignore my personal feelings towards you just so he would be happy."

Hearing those kinds of words out of my mouth, Patricia raised an eyebrow and smirked. "I guess I'm not entirely regretting it. You're very interesting for a child. Saying harsh truths, condescending others like that, you really are enjoying your own life, no?"

"That's right. Not bad for someone who's rich and famous. I hope you won't adopt Cervi solely because he's shy but kind. If you harm him in any way, even when you're just training him, I will slit your throat and gouge out your eyeballs, understand?" My right eye glowed red for a second. She wasn't able to notice it at all so I guess she was focusing too hard in my sentence that she has no interest in what I look while I say it.

"Yes, I understand. Now hurry up. We're going to your new home."

2 hours later....

We eventually reached my new home. It was a mansion. I remember Cervi told me that he wants to go to a mansion or apartment. I crushed his dream, didn't I? But I still can't sense any suffering in his soul. Is he happy that my dream is fulfilled and not his?! Such a weird human... Why isn't he selfish like I am?

When I entered the door of the mansion, I was astonished by the inside. It looks very grand and spacious!

I stared in awe, looking around the mansion.

"Do you like what you see?" Patricia whispered in my ear.

"Hmph. My original home is better." I crossed my arms, ignoring her initial impression.

I know that she wouldn't believe me because she thought that the home that I was talking about is the orphanage.

But I don't want to reveal that truth right now. It's too early for that. Or, I will never reveal it at all! Not to this family... I wonder how my life is going to be from now on...

1 month after I was brought in by the Auden family.

I learned a lot of new informations regarding the human world. I learnt that humans can also manipulate, deceive, and lie just to get what they want. Patricia told me about this regarding the other rich people. She also mentioned about abuse and taking advantage of these people. It's hard to think that humans can also be demons themselves.

"Celeste, I think it's time for you to go to a school." Patricia said out of the blue.

"School, huh... Alright." I emotionlessly responded.

"That's really quick for an answer. Change your clothes to formalwear, we're going to the mall to buy school necessities." With that sentence, she immediately turned, exiting my room.

Still maintaining my calm and composed personality, I took the nearest t-shirt and pants that I could find. I also took the nearest rubber shoes. With that, I'm ready to go.

"Patricia, I'm ready to go." I shouted, my voice echoing throughout the mansion.

I walked outside, waiting for her at the gate.

A few minutes later, she walked out wearing a dress with high-heeled sandals.

"Oops, it's my official tea time that I just obviously made up. Too bad. It seems that I can't go. I'll go back to the house and stay there until you return." I waved but not looking at her, bidding goodbye.

"Ok, but what do you want me to bring you?"

"Just give me a banana milkshake."

With that simple sentence, I returned to the mansion, changing all my clothes back to casual.

I pounced on my bed, burying my head into the soft pillow.

I raised my head afterwards, thinking how I would say this amazing news to Cervi.

I walked to my wall mirror and stared at it for a bit before I saw my eyes glowing red involuntarily. I was surprised to see this, backing down in panic.

Argh, geez, when did I last consume a suffering human soul? My demon instincts are getting out of control each second. What do I do? Sh-should I continue murdering these humans? These frail stupid mortal souls wandering around... Should I...eat them??

A-ahh...no... W-well...maybe I could try...

My fangs came out, my eyes glowed bright red, my clothes changed too (not really sure how that works), and holding the spear that I summoned, I proudly introduced myself "I am Celeste, the princess of the demons, daughter of Abaddon and Lucy, the great ruler of the underground! AHAHAHA!!!" I maniacally laughed out loud.

Feeling my demon self again, I flew out of the window, searching for suffering souls.

I eventually stumbled upon a poor drunk guy, who's in a bar, drinking some beer as his usual routine.

My smirk grew wide from ear to ear! I bet this is tasty!

I approached him with a seductive face, twirling my tongue on my lips, covering it with saliva.

"Hey there." I bat my eyes, winking at him sexily.

"Wh-wh-who are you?" He stuttered. I can see his face flushing red, and his banana is standing up firmly.

"My name's not important in this, is it?" I giggled, covering my mouth. "Call me Rachel. Want to spend a good time with me?" I crossed my legs and adjusted my dress to make it look like that I'm inviting him to something.

"I-I-I would but... I-I-I mean I c-can but... You...you wouldn't tell this to anyone, would you?" He formed fists on his lap, nervously shaking around. His whole body started shaking in either excitement or nervousness, I can't tell.

"Of course not, darling~~! I would never do that! I will lead you to a place where no one will go to nor cameras are present. Only the two of us will be present." I giggled seductively again, doing one more twirl with my tongue. "You wouldn't mind that, would you?" I showed off my disguise as a busty woman, caressing my breasts and stimulating myself, causing me to blush, complete with seductive eyes.

"I-I-I wouldn't!" He proudly proclaimed.

"Good to know that, dear. Do you know any place where we could go to?" I leaned a little closer to him, my breasts feeling his arm.

"U-umm... I kn-know this place th-that my friend used to sh-show me..."

"Oh? Tell me where it is then."

He showed me to a room. It is completely empty despite its appearance. There are no cameras present too. This is a perfect place...to eat!

When we saw a bed, that guy promptly sat down... John is his name...

"Wait for me, ok darling~~?"

He nodded, still trembling.

I removed all my clothes, then went back to bed to get in some action.

I pushed John on the bed, laying down. I removed his buttoned shirt and pants, as well as his shoes. All that's left now is his underwear...

"That's big one!" I acted surprised.

He innocently scratched the back of his head. "Ahehe... Well..."

"Would be a shame if..." I readied my mouth, removing his underwear, revealing its huge and tasteful prize inside. "Someone..." I slowly put my mouth inside. "Were to..." I said in a muffled voice.

I took my time playing with it inside my mouth before...

...My eyes started glowing, my fangs grew sharper, my dress returned, as well as the spear hiding in my palm, all in a split second.

"CHOMP IT!" I shouted, biting the whole thing off.

He suddenly screamed in pain, trying so hard to escape. But I trapped him with my demon abilities, holding him off with red chains on the bed.

"What's the matter, darling? It seems like you've seen a demon approaching you. Hahahaha!!!" I laughed again, approaching him on his neck.

He desperately screamed in pain as I chomp him from the neck all the way to the last bite...

His soul seems to really suffer a lot. This thing is indeed very tasteful!

I returned to my original form as a 13-year old human girl, removing the chains from the bed, and the spear that I haven't gotten to use except for being a knife as I eat this suffering human. Although, I would say he is very tasty, because of his very large bird standing up quite firmly. Man, that's such a feast for me. Hahahaha!!

And with that, I flew back to my own home, clean as ever, like nothing happened. I pounced on my bed, resting my body like I had a really bad day.

"I'm back! Here's the banana milkshake you want." Patricia opened the door and brought me the milkshake that I ordered her. "Would you like to eat dinner?"

"No."

"My, what did you eat?"

"I ate some snacks while I roamed around the streets."

"I don't know why you would roam around the streets but ok. Glad to know you're safe though." And she closed the door...

I stared at the milkshake for a few seconds, before grabbing it tightly and flew to the orphanage.

It is around 7 pm by now, I think. Which makes it night!

"Cervi!" I exclaimed. I ran to him and gave him the banana milkshake. "For you."

"Thank you, Celeste!" He seems genuinely happy. "So, what's up?"

"Hmm... So I heard the news from Patricia that I'm going to school! I'm not sure when though. I'm excited for it!! I will learn how to interact with other people! Right?"

"Yeah! So that means..."

"Don't be sad. I'll still try to visit you every night." I smiled brightly and widely to cheer him up.

"O-ok....." He stared at the ground, sipping his milkshake.

I then laid down and stared at the relaxing sky outside. It's already full of stars... A peaceful and relaxing night as always...with Cervi.
