Chapter: Master In Disguise
(Man without his dark shadow aura.)
"What just happened" Scarlett held out her hand in shock, watching every vein and muscle that seemed to tense up.
"I don't know" Ace rubbed the back of his palms thoroughly as if he was petting a dog or puppy. His eyes were wide with shock as he stared Scarlett down, seeing if she will do anything else that might result in a fire.
"This is weird" she sighed and fell back, laying on her side staring at the clouds. Her blonde hair falling into her eyes for a split second. We fell silent for a moment, the birds the only ones making noise.
"I don't get how this could be happening to us." Ace stated breaking the silence. "Obviously, this is impossible, like were not supposed to be able to create fire or control weather." Scarlett grumbled. "Actually I controled lighting, specifically." Ace stated earning a fierce glare from Scar. "Sorry just pointing it out" Ace said raising his hands up in surrender.
"It seems like something we did made us gain a super power, but what did we do?" Ace grumbled, tapping his chin in thought.
"Or were just being paranoid like you on a rollercoaster" Scarlett smirked at her own comment as Ace's eyes widened. "That was only once, and it was on Friday the thirteenth."
"That does not matter, you squealed like a little girl, and your a boy to make matters funnier." Ace groaned and attempted to give her a cold glare, but it only turned out to make Scarlett laugh even more.
"We are getting off topic here." he sighed while Scarlett smirked, "You can not refuse the truth at hand."
"Shut up with the smart remarks" Ace hissed, glaring deep into her eyes while his fingers twitched furiously. Scarlett smirked thinking solemnly to herself, 'I think that if either of us get scared or feel any severe emotions, our powers will glitch?'.
Ace twitched more as a lightning bolt smashed right infront of him, making Scarlett jump. "Oh, I guess I'm right." She rubbed her head smiling to herself.
He stopped twitching as Scarlett rubbed her eyes. "Ace it's getting late".
"Scar it's not late, it's only lunch time" he groaned and stared at her, both of them refusing to let down any of their glares amongst each other.
"Fine, but that storm you conjured up made me tired... and sore." She rubbed her shoulder while pushing it back into place. "Ow" she whined as they both rolled their eyes at eachother.
"Fine, but if we do go to sleep now, it will only be a nap." She nodded while bolting inside, Ace following as well, a dark feeling lurking through him, is somebody watching us?
*_*_*_*-DREAM: DREAM -*_*_*_*
Ace turned the corner, pacing around the room. His arms felt weak as he turned, a shadow chasing after him. It was a man probably 23 or so from his height concealed by a very dark and masking aura.
"Come back here" he snapped, but that just made Ace run faster. He panted, his chest rising and falling at an untimely rate.
"Never" he yelled as the scenes suddenly changed from a hallway to a large factory. Ace's eyes widened as he tried to slow down, resulting in him smashing into a large brick wall.
"Ow" he whined and rubbed his head as the shadow seemed to have materalized in front of him. He tried to scream but he could not, a hand covering over his mouth blocking out any sound.
"Shhh" he whispered, his beastly red eyes seeming to stare deeply into his soul, it made the hair on his neck stand straight up.
"It's alright now, your safe" the monster cooed and it seemed to make Ace feel even more trapped than before.
"Let me go please! What do you want?" he cried out struggling in his grasps that just seemed to make it tighter. "Why should I, you are my prize." Venom laced in his tone and words, seemed to make Ace shiver.
"I am nobody's prize so let me go or I will...." His voice trailed off as the beastly red eyes brightened. "What was that?" a hand grabbed Ace's shoulder and pushed him down harder.
"I will find you Ace, and when I do, you will never escape."
*_*_*_*- DREAM: AWAKE -*_*_*_*
Ace screamed bolting up, his lungs and muscles burning while Scarlett stared at him curiously. "What happened?" She replied as he sighed and breathed out.
"Ever since we got our powers, I have been having these dreams." He sniffed and wiped his eyes with his sleeve.
"These dreams are causing me to think clearly about this."
Scarlett stared at Ace confused as she gave him a face that was just laced with confusion.
"What do you mean?" She asked her eyes now beaming with interest and dread.
"I got the answers we wanted, and they are not good ones. We should have stayed silent and asleep that night."
"We are now in danger, and it's all my fault."
