False crouched behind a pillar. She was spying on the grey skins, as they were having a meeting. Some of the people seemed, different. It was so sad to see them slowly changing from their living selves, her friends, to these dead creatures. False didn't know what was up, but some of the dead seemed nicer, while others seemed to be very evil.

Oh my! False noticed Cub was just walking around holding TNT. Not caring where he was, just holding it. Scar was in the room, but nearer to the back. His eyes flicked back and forth as if he was uncomfortable there.

False huddled further back as Tango, who was very much a demon now, scanned the room. A light suddenly flashed in the room. Was she found out? False pressed herself to the wall as the dead hurried out. Scar stayed, walking to her pillar. She sucked in a breath, hoping that he couldn't hear her madly beating heart. A hand rested on her shoulder.

False started to shriek, but Scar put a finger on her lips. "If you don't want the others to know you're here, follow me and stay quiet."

False trembled as she nodded. Scar grabbed her hand and rushed her to a back room. His hand strangely had warmth in it. Scar hurriedly closed the door.

"What are you doing here? Do you know what they would do to you if they caught you?" Scar seemed worried.

"I was doing fine on my own." False then realized what he said. "Wait, they? Aren't you dead? I thought you all wanted the death of the living."

Scar hesitated. "I've not been under the influence as much as the others. Granted I've had my moments but not nearly as bad as the others."

"What do you mean?" False narrowed her eyes, tucking a strand of her straw blonde hair behind an ear.

"When someone dies, because of what we believe to be a command block, they get kind of consumed. It's like something in us is just different. Xisuma noticed it first. When he died he was fine, then he started losing control of himself. His eyes, they lost their color after a while, and his skin turned deathly cold." Scar shuddered. "It was slow for him, X is strong willed. He still has times where he tries to escape himself. He begs me to help him." Scar looked like he was going to cry.

"So you're saying you can fight the urge?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying. And I'm creating a device that will help us fight it and find the command block. See, some are completely gone. Cub and Tango have no memory of their former lives."

"And you?"

Scar clenched his fist suddenly. False backed up and put her hand on her sword. Slowly color started swimming up Scar's body. False gasped as his eyes turned blue again and his hair returned to its original color. "How did you-"

"Did you still feel the warmth in my body?" Scar unclenched his fist. False nodded recalling the strange warmth she felt earlier. "I've been hiding the life underneath me, disguised as the dead. Only feeling the warmth is a giveaway. Don't get me wrong, I still died, but I've found a way to escape the battle."

"Woah," False was not usually short for words.

"I hear Tango," Scar snapped his fingers. "Trust me will you?"

"Haven't I this entire time?"

"Shhh!" Scar grabbed her wrist. A strange tingle started creeping up her nerves. She started losing color.

"What?!"

"Shh!" Scar said more urgently. He had lost color completely, and as False looked down so did she. The door slammed open. Tango's dark wings took over the entirety of the room. False shrunk back. It was as if Tango could see right through her with those glowing red eyes.

"What are you doing here, Scar?" Tango spotted False. "When did she die? I don't seem to remember. Maybe we should check." Tango laughed evilly as he started pulling out something from his pocket.

"That won't be necessary, Tango." Tango scooted aside as Xisuma walked in. "I seem to remember that she died from drowning. It was when you were asleep, I'm afraid. We will catch up later."

Tango didn't seem to be satisfied with the answer, but never-the-less he left. Xisuma took off his helmet. "Scar, are you crazy? You just put False in danger!"

"Wait," False stepped forward. "Are you pretending to be dead or just in one of your lucid moments?"

Xisuma seemed surprised. "Pretending to be dead? No, I'm not sure what you mean by that. I- Argh! I'm fighting the feeling."

Scar sighed. "Xisuma, I have a remedy. I'm not sure how long you'll understand me, but we need to get you to my mansion."

False yelped as she saw a tiny part of X's eyes turn black. His gaze was hardening. It seemed he was losing any footing he had before. Scar quickly grabbed Xisuma's helmet and popped it on his head. "Follow my lead, False." Scar quickly guided X through the many halls of the castle. Impulse gave a confused glance at the scene but Scar just waved him away.

They reached the drop. "I'm going to need you to carry half of his weight, False. I can't do it alone while flying." Xisuma groaned. "Hang in there buddy."

False wrapped one of X's arms around her shoulders, and Scar took the other. Xisuma had turned into a bit of a dead weight, so his attached elytra would be no help here.

"Three, two, one!" Scar and False ran jumping off the edge. They started falling instantly. "Spread your wings!" Scar commanded False. She complied, her body straining against the effort. The ground spun closer and closer. They weren't going to make it. False closed her eyes. Woosh. They launched into the sky, right before they hit the ground. Scar guided them to the mansion.

"Well that was close," Scar breathed heavily.

"You made this?" False stared at the beautiful structure. It curved perfectly around the natural cliffside, towers twisting to a point. Carved wood beams held up the eaves, and the grand doorway invited a multitude of guests.

"Yes," Scar grinned. "Bad Times complained the entire time."

False laughed. "You should have seen True when I was building FalseWell." Their laughter was cut short when they heard another groan from Xisuma. False was suprised he hadn't put up a fight yet.

They entered the magnificent mansion, which was grander than the outside. Glimmering chandeliers hung from the ornate ceiling. A red rug lined the center of the hall.

"I need you to keep this a secret, False." Scar grabbed a sword from the wall. Was he going to kill her? Instead of swinging it, Scar pushed it into a barely noticeable crack in the wall. Stone ground on stone as a secret entrance opened up. Xisuma groaned again.

"How much farther, Scar?"

"Not much."

"We need to get there soon. X can't take much more of this."

"I know." Scar rushed them to a lab-like room. They carefully laid X on the table, who was now twitching.

"Can you do anything for him? Like knock him out?" False asked worriedly.

"I can, and I will." Scar pulled out a syringe and a long needle. "Otherwise Xisuma will be in a lot of pain." False shuddered. She hated needles. "This isn't one of your Area 77 experiments is it?"

Scar looked up suddenly. "What? No!" He put on some gloves. "Grian helped me with this. Trust me, I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't know it would work. I did it on myself, remember?'

False had to do a double take to remember that according to the code, Scar was still dead. They still needed to find the command block that started this mess. Their only hope was Xisuma, who had admin powers.

Scar injected the medicine and the antidote. Now all they had to do was wait. Wait and wait and wait. False paced back and forth impatiently.

"How long?" She would ask. Scar would always reply, "Not much longer."

An hour and a hundred more questions later, False had run out of patience. Grabbing Scar's shirt she pulled him up. "I'm tired off your vague answers. How long did it take you? Is Xisuma even alive?"

Scar stuttered, "I don't know, I was unconscious." False released him and resumed pacing, now shaking in fear.

"False, it will be okay. I promise."

False turned back to him, tears welling in her brown eyes. "How do you know? What if it doesn't work? What if he dies? What then, what do we tell the others? We both know someone has messed with the code. And they could have messed with our respawn as well. X could die for good, there could be no going back for him."

Scar sadly gazed at False. "False, I know it seems bad. You saw him, he was fighting himself. He wasn't the person you remembered him to be."

False seemed ready to retort, when they heard a noise from the cot. Xisuma sat up groaning. As he did, the color rushed through his body turning his eyes back to their normal blue color.

"Xisuma!" False cried in happiness.

"False? What am I doing-" Xisuma's reply was cut off as False tackled him with a hug.

"I was afraid the remedy wasn't going to work!"

"Remedy?" Xisuma looked at Scar in confusion.

Scar and False told X about the special potion and the command block. False ended the story by telling about her being turned into a gray skin temporarily.

"Scar changed my skin as well. If it weren't for him, Tango would have instantly known I was alive."

"Oh," Xisuma seemed to slump a little. Scar noticed and intervened.

"However, if it weren't for you she would be dead. You distracted Tango so we could get out. It seemed as if you used all your energy doing so."

False looked at Xisuma gratefully. "I don't know how you did it, but I certainly appreciate what you did. I'm glad I didn't face whatever Tango had in his pocket."

Xisuma pushed himself upright. I know exactly how I did it, X thought. He grunted a little when all of the sudden False hugged him.

"Thank you for all you did, X," she told him. Scar went to grab a strength potion for Xisuma when they heard a crash.

"What was that?!?" False shrieked. The beams on the ceiling started to crack and debris fell through.

"False you need to get out of here!" Scar shouted. "We have intruders on the north side. Xisuma, take False to the back exit."

Xisuma nodded and grabbed False's arm. Scar tossed Xisuma the potion. "False, follow his lead. We can die but you can't. I'm not sure how many more times I can revive people.

Xisuma started to leave then thought for a moment. "If I die, will the changes be reset?"

Scar shook his head. "No, you are still technically dead by the code, so nothing will change. But it will change for False soon! I'll hold them off." Scar turned himself gray again, as did Xisuma and False.

They leaped up the stairs and took a left. False and X ran through a library which was slowly cracking. As they turned a corner, they came face to face with a wall of broken beams.

"Oh no, no, no!" Xisuma searched his pockets. "I always have chorus fruit on me. Where did it go?"

"Why do you need it?" False tilted her head at another boom.

"To get through the wall. Too late, quickly back the way we came." They both turned the corner again to see that the library had finally collapsed. The two heard an ominous crack. Looking up, they saw that the beams were seeing the last of their days of holding the roof up.

"False!" Xisuma cried out as the ceiling caved in.

False heard the voice faintly as the roof came down. Her world turned pitch black. Xisuma somehow managed to survive and he rummaged through where she had been standing. All the search rewarded him with was finding the XP she had.

"Oh, False." He murmured. "Fight the feeling. I'll be there as soon as I can."
