Chapter 27: Clash with the reapers (Intro) (New Version)
PHOENIX.
I roamed my sight around. And we are inside a library, the place has laboratory equipment at the end and various books in the middle, and the side were tables and chairs. I squinted my eyes when I saw a bulletin board near me and it says 'Welcome to Shier University'. I look behind and saw Sky's ugly face. Malas dahil panget ang kasama ng poging katulad ko.
Based on my amazing and awesome brain, we were scattered by the portal.
And because this place was lacking the mystical vibes that our world has, I am a hundred percent sure that we are here in the mortal world. The eariness was faint but I can sense the clashing of powers in the surroundings.
"Matagal ka pa d'yan?" Sky asked impatiently. "Balak mo bang basahin ang mga libro rito? 'Wag ka na magbalak at bawal sa bobo 'yan. Tara na." Insecure talaga sa ka-pogian ko si Sky. Tsk, tsk.
We exited the library. A hallway welcomed us, the design was odd. In front of the library and other classrooms was an open space that can let you see the outside of the building. I held on the steel railings and wandered my eyes, I can see the green field and it was filled with booths and stalls.
Sky suddenly pushed me out of the way. Out of the blue, a strong wind emerges. I covered my eyes with my arm. I was trying hard to keep my eyes open yet my eyes cannot withstand. I can hear the loud slamming of the doors, even the scattering of the papers.
But a loud thud got my attention. It was a strong impact and came from a very big thing. "Phoenix, check the library—"
Sky was interrupted when a girl appeared in front. She was floating in the air, making her ginger hair sway in the mid-air. Her creamy eyes look soft yet it was piercing while looking at the library. "Is that all you've got?" The woman said.
Sky and I looked at the library when he heard footsteps inside, it was echoing in the deserted building. "Just a lucky strike and now you're being boastful?" It was Aizelle. She was smiling while jeering at the woman.
All her wounds from the training were still visible. I can sense that just like the other's her magic energy will run out soon. Kakagaling lang namin sa training tapos ganitong adventure ang bubungad sa amin. Aizelle smirked.
She summoned her legendary bow. A sakura-pink magic circle appeared beneath us. The surrounding became eerie, the little pebbles on the ground started to float and the wind was now visible to our naked eyes, it was just encircling towards Aizelle.
And then the realization hits me, "Aizelle, you're not supposed to do that!" I screamed. She tilted her head, still mocking her opponent as if she wasn't able to hear my scream.
Aizelle slowly raised her bow, the arrow began to change in color. From being gold it changes and turned into crystal white. "Heaven's Arrow," She cast. When the single arrow soared in the air, it multiplies until it became a shower of arrows.
The woman gritted her teeth. She made a shield made from the air but it failed on protecting her, some of Aizelle's arrow strikes to her; her shoulders, arms, and legs were now wounded.
When the majestic light beneath us disappeared I looked to Aizelle. Sky was fast enough to catch her. "Take care of Aizelle," I mumbled.
I jumped on the railings and made wings using my blessing. Jusko po, tatlong palapag pala 'to. The woman senses my presence and suddenly looked at me. She smirked. "Moron, you can't fly like me."
"Luh, bobo. May pakpak—" I wasn't able to finish my sentence when she snapped her fingers and my wings faded.
I looked at her with eyes widened. Tukmol ampota. "Now you can't."
"Oy. Ang gago naman," I scowled. I can feel the wind pressure in my body as I fall.
"Basic Science. Fire can't be productive without oxygen." She said. Mukha akong tanga na nilalangoy ang ere dahil nais kong malaglag sa damuhan.
And when I felt the soft bushes. I quickly got up saw the woman smirking. Pag pogi talaga hindi nasasaktan.
I summoned my sword. She mockingly tilted her head, "You're a king, but to be honest, you don't look like one."
"Shut up," I gritted my teeth. How can she tell just by looking at me?
"Are you confused?" She asked. I looked at her with straight-face, "That woman... Aizelle Shaina Buenatori. She will be your life," she meaningfully said.
I don't get it.
"So, Apollo and Eros didn't inform the two of you? Aizelle seems also clueless about your connections."
"Where did you get this information?" I asked.
"Aeolus," she answered. I raised my brows, Aeolus is the keeper of the winds. Then she must be his child. "Obviously, I am his daughter," she jeered as if she can read what's on my mind.
"I don't trust your words," I bluntly said. She just shrugged, "Well, why don't you ask your beloved father? Do you think that sending you to Demigods Academy is just to make you feel better in mourning to your mother?" she stated.
"Who are you?" I asked. Ang dami niyang alam tungkol sa 'kin. I mean, alam kong gwapo ako per ang creepy niyang stalker ha.
"A reaper," she answered. Okay, saya niyang kausap. "So, are you here to join the festival?" She asked while grinning.
My eyes widened when my body began to float. The wind was howling in horror, it was erratically blowing against my skin. I was slowly being suffocated with the wind dust that was now forming gigantic violent twisting air rotating around me.
I closed my eyes to prevent the dust from filling it. I was unable to breathe properly, the air for breathing became thin. "Might as well join Aicelyn in the underworld," she said.
I was gasping for air hard when I felt my eyes being a burden. "Earth-Shaker," a majestic light appeared beneath me.
The hurricane that was prisoning me and the ground started to collide. They are having a fierce battle. My body that was floating slowly falls, and when I felt the not so soft ground I groaned. I winced while opening my eyes.
My eyes were half open when I saw two pairs of feet in front, "Stand up, moron." It was Light's voice.
I slowly got up and I saw a woman standing beside Light, she was awfully familiar. "You, alright?" Light asked. I nodded, still looking at the girl. "Her name is Reina. She might be familiar to you because days ago we met her in Master Garet's office,"
AH! Si Ms. Pardon-my-intrusion!
"Thanks," I mumbled.
"Where is Aizelle?" Reina asked.
"Are you the one who called her?" I asked. She nodded. "She's the one battling Aisone, so, where is she?" Reina asked.
"She's with Sky. And she's unconscious right now," I said.
"Well, well, if it isn't my friend Reina," The woman said. She was floating in front of us while wearing a grimaced expression. "And Aisone isn't my real name. It is Ellen,"
Reina's eyes were leering at the woman in front. Light hid Reina behind him and looked at me, "Phoenix, bring Reina with you. Keep her safe," he said in a serious tone.
I heaved a sigh, "Fine. Just be safe,"
"I will."
Serena was grumpily kicking the cage made by Riley. She was so frustrated that she rips her gown. She concentrated her magic energy and attack the cage using her blessing but she brooded when the branches of the tree grew thicker. "I'm so naiirita na," she anxiously said.
She summoned her twin guns, "I'm so malupit, I have an idea na." First, she put the silencers, and then she fired her guns towards the thick branches and it was slowly making a whole yet it was immediately returning to its original form.
Serena fired continuously until she made a hole that can fit her body. And after she got out of the cage, she hid under the stairs, away from the guards that were watching the other princess. "So, how can I takas from them?" she mumbled.
With her eyes widened she shockingly sits down when she saw Riley walking near her. At the side of the stairs, a portal appeared. Riley entered there. Serena bit her lower lip and followed the man.
