Chapter 4: Freya

Chapter 4: Freya

"Human? Don't joke around because that race is just a product of the demigods' mind," I stated. She suddenly groaned and rolled her pale gold eyes.

Humans don't exist in this world. They are the ancient race that didn't receive any blessings from the gods. In short, they are merely empty vessels that can experience a usual way of life. I looked at the woman in front of me, and I can tell that she's lying, especially that she possesses the eyes of the gods.

She scowled and squinted her eyes as she looks at me, "I don't have the blood of the Greeks pero may kakayahan ako upang makita ang mga bagay na kinukubli ng mist," she explained—her pair of pale golden orbs glimmers as she looks at the lamp at the table.

"But humans are already extinct..." Savannah whispered while brushing her hair, "But isn't it rude that you didn't introduce yourself first?"

A sly smile appeared across the woman's face, "My bad! I'm Alyssa!" she extended her arm, and they shook hands. "In this world, I am the peculiar one. The only being that wasn't gifted by the Greeks."

"It does makes sense... especially because of your eyes," Glifford said. This is my first time to witness such peculiar orbs.

The colour of our eyes symbolizes where we came from, the god whom we came from. At the age of 3 to 9, the demigods must hone their skills; the necessary combat skills, and the basic manipulation of our blessings. And at the age of 10, we receive our real blessing given by our godly blessing aside from that our eyes changes according to our godly parents. And as the son of Hephaestus, I received his eyes; the blazing crimson eyes that can be compared to his personification, which is the volcano and fire.

I received the blessing of fire, and my siblings received his other blessing. I was different from my other siblings because I am considered as a king; a ruler of this world.

"What can you do?" I asked.

"I can see through the mist nga, bobo mo," Alyssa hissed. I languidly looked at her and sat on the couch.

And then I remembered something, sinabi n'ya kanina na halos isang taon na siya rito kaya sigurado akong kilala niya ang babaeng pumukaw sa interes ko, "Do you know... a woman with an odd hair?"

"The pink one? Ah, the most mysterious woman within the walls," She stated.

I curiously looked at her, "What do you mean?"

"She's the only one that I can't see through. What I mean, kung nagawa kong malaman kung sino ang godly parent n'yo... sa kanya ay hindi ko magawa' yon." She explained.

She's really a mystery, huh? "Her name is Alexis, if you'll ask." Alyssa mumbled. I pursed my lips, trying hard not to smile. A beautiful name that suits a mysterious woman like her.

Just by looking at Alyssa, I can deduce that she didn't waste her time being trapped in this world. She studied everything that amused her in this world. Even though she belongs to the race that exists in our legends and myths – "You are amused, huh?" Alyssa said while looking directly in my eyes. "In my world, the demigods and the Greeks are just a fragment of the human's mind, a creation of a world that shouldn't exist."

Her explanation is the complete opposite of our belief. In our world, humans are just a fragment of our imagination. But the question is... anong ginagawa n'ya sa mundo namin?

"I have a favor..." Alyssa whispered.

"We are not going to Mt. Seraphyl," I glared at them.

We already disobey one of the gods' law. Another disobedient act might put us somewhere we wouldn't like especially that Mt. Seraphyl is separated to the grasp of the gods. Hindi kami dapat makihalubilo sa mga fairy.

"KJ mo naman," Savannah jeered. She crossed her arms and rolled her pair of amethyst eyes on me.

I was about to scold her when Glifford suddenly crossed his arms and rolled his dandelion eyes.

"The two of you already defy the gods –"

"Exactly! Kaya ayoko –"

"I want to defy them, too." I was dumbfounded because of what he said.

"NO ONE WILL GO TO MT. SERAPHYL!"

"Why am I even here?" I beamed at them. Glifford put me inside a sack earlier just to come in the Mt. Seraphyl. Mga sakit sila sa ulo.

Ano ngang kukuhanin namin dito? Cellphone? Puta, ano 'yon?! "Stop struggling, gago!" Alyssa whispered.

"Then put me down!" I exclaimed. Serpahyl. We are in the forest, the same place where we hid from the odd fairy.

I felt an eerie presence, I covered Alyssa's mouth before she could even spout another nonsense. The melodious voice from earlier captivated our ears again, I raised one of my eyebrows when Alyssa's eyes suddenly grew wide. I know that fucking song," she whispered.

The fairy stops from singing, and she decided to brush the sphinx's fur, "I wish I could get out this land," her voice was soft and contains different emotions.

She has the desire to leave this place, I can see it in her eyes. "Too bad... It was just a lousy dream,"

It is not a lousy dream. Dumbass,"

"Garet! What the hell are you doing?!" Savannah exclaimed.

With her eyes widened, the fairy looks at me with disbelief, "You are not supposed to be here!" She shouted.

The sphinx flew at the top of my head and rested in there, "Venyr! Come back here!"

"I won't harm you. Kahit ang alaga mo ay naramdaman iyon, and the fact that you're not running away means you are not cautious of me," I stated. She frustratingly bit her lower lip and heaved a sigh.

"Leave, the queen might punish you for trespassing on our ground," She calmly said. I just shrugged my shoulder and sat down on the moistly green pasture, kinuha ko ang sphinx sa ulo ko at nilaro ang balahibo nito. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"Sitting,"

"Not that one! You are clearly defying the law –"

"Uh, tell me about it. I just defy my father's order, defying another law no longer scares me." I mumbled. Napansin ko ang pagbagsak ng mga balikat niya, she flew down and landed in front of me. The specks of her glittering dust scattered around us. I smiled. "You know what... there is no lousy dream. Every dream means you want to attain something. The only thing that is lousy is the dreamer who keeps on being trap inside her what ifs,"

I looked at the moon, the cold breeze of the night whispered at us. "I've already met a princess who wanted to reign, a right-hand man who wanted to explore all the medicinal herbs and a human... who wanted her cellphone back,"

"Tangina, napakabobo talaga ng kaibigan n'yo! Naiiyak na ako sa message n'ya tapos – ARGH!" Sinamaan ko nang tingin si Alyssa na bigla na lamang nag-inarte. Naguguluhan na tumingin sa kanya ang fairy dahilan para mapasapo ako sa aking noo. Napakabobo ni Alyssa.

"Who are they?" The fairy asked.

I pointed Savannah, "The princess,"

"The one who wanted to reign?" She asked, and I nodded. "Then is he the one who wanted to explore all the medicinal herbs?" she asked while pointing Glifford and I nodded.

Nginuso ko naman si Alyssa, "And that stupid one is the one who wanted her cellphone back," "Cellphone?" She quizzically asked.

"Hindi ko rin alam,"

"The thing on your pocket!" Alyssa said while pointing the fairy's pocket.

Is she talking to that thing? Alyssa's eyes suddenly grew wide, napatapik s'ya bigla sa akin at bigla na lamang matinis na sumigaw, "It should be OMD! Not OMG! I'm so brilliant!" "What is she talking about?" Savannah asked.

"A slang! OMG means Oh My Gosh and OMD means Oh My Demigods!"

Savannah crooked, "Are we supposed to say that?"

"Yes!"

She was carefully watching the girls, "What's your name?"

"Freya,"

I smiled and gently offered my hand, "Why don't you join us, and fulfill your dreams, Freya?"
