Chapter 2: Savannah
Chapter 2: Savannah
“Leave my house,”
I can’t help but roll my eyes while looking at this woman with the amethyst eyes. She’s not even thankful that we let her stay in our secret base but instead, she’s shoving me away from my house.
“Wow. Ikaw ba ang nag gawa nito?” I asked. She glared at me.
I tapped my fingers on my table with my chin resting on the other hand.
Glifford went outside to get some food. Doing errands and gathering supplies was actually an easy job for him because of his blessing.
“Aalis o sasapakin kita?”
I grimaced, “Really? You’re a princess? More like an amazona…”
She gasped and looked at me with disbelief. I was caught off guard when she suddenly charged at me and was targeting my hair. “Tangina ka, sinong amazona ha?!”
“Tangina! Ang sakit, hoy!” I winced.
I angrily asked.
“Sinusumpa kita! Hindi ka magkakajowa!”
I looked at her with disbelief while she’s still pulling my hair, “And now you’re cursing me? You, jinx!”
“Tangina ka kasi e,”
“Same to you!”
“Again, are royalties allowed to curse?” She suddenly let go of me when we both heard Glifford who was now looking at us with curiosity.
He has two baskets on his hands, and just by looking at it most of its content must be fruits. “And please, shut up, some royal knights are heading this way,” Glifford mumbled as if we aren’t in trouble.
“Are they wearing alexandrite gems on their heads?” Savannah asked.
“Yes,”
“Hide me, hide me!”
“Feeling fairy ka ha.” I teased.
“NANDIDILIM NA ANG PANINGIN KO SA’YO, CHRISTOPHER!”
“HOY—”
“THIS WAY! NARINIG KO ANG BOSES NG PRINSESA!”
Glifford looked at us with disbelief, the voice from outside made this annoying woman shut up. “Tsk.” I rolled my eyes before snatching her hand.
She was struggling at first but when I glared at her, she stops.
“I told you to hide me.”
I frowned, “Shut up and watch.”
She frustratingly bit her lower lip when we heard the stomping of feet outside and the sudden busting of the door. We passed through the wall, and I smirked when she awed.
This is our real secret base, the room behind the white wall. Wherever you look, the thing that you’ll see is the view from the outside. In short, everything that is within our grasps now is transparent.
We can see the beautiful nature; the thick and strong trees, the beautiful flowers that were dancing while embracing the wind. And even the vagrant clouds above us.
I let go of Savannah’s hand, and she was slowly taking a walk in front while being mesmerized by the peculiar art.
“How—”
“I’m Son of Hephaestus, ” I stated.
She was about to utter another word when we saw a bunch of Amore royal knights marching towards the house.
“Hey, what if—”
“Huwag kang mag-alala, hindi sila makakapasok dito.” Glifford interrupted. Naglakad ako patungo sa pader, I saw the green switch that was emitting green light. I switched it on and the room changed into one of its features.
The transparency disappeared. My inventions. All my inventions were placed on the rows of long tables— most of them were not yet finished.
“They won’t see this,” I assured Savannah. She let out a sigh as she watches the royal knights who were pursuing her.
“To be honest, I don’t the fact of getting married... Sadyang hindi lang ikaw ang nais kong mapangasawa.” She uttered.
“So, who is the unlucky guy?” I asked.
She bitterly smiled, “The Prince of the Cerulean Kingdom.”
I softly laugh. “Wait, wait.” I murmured.
“You’re mocking me, Christopher.” She leered.
“Stop calling me Christopher. Let me explain first,”
“And?”
Glifford tapped my shoulder and gave me a robe, and he also handed another robe to Savannah, “Alendis is his archenemy.” Glifford laughed.
“Seriously?” Savannah mocked.
“Shut up,” I glared at them.
“So, why?” Savannah asked.
“They are hot n cold if you know what I mean.” Glifford teased. I rolled my eyes as I put on the robe, we need to leave these premises. “So, where are you going now, Savannah?”
“I’m coming with you,” She stated.
“No.” I firmly said.
“But I can help you!”
“No.”
“Please, I have nowhere to go.”
“Garet, let her come with us,” Glifford muttered.
I let out a sigh while looking at the amazona. She was giggling and giving thumbs up to Glifford. I languidly looked at her.
She likes Alendis, and I doubt that guy will be able to return her love. Especially, Alendis is the kind of guy who only thinks of himself. A selfish bastard and a king vessel like me.
The King Vessel system was made by Rhea, the mother of gods, and with her blessing, she successfully established the system. The offsprings of the male gods are the only ones that can be a king vessel, and being a candidate to become a king is rare. In the Divine Continent, there are only two king vessels— First was me, Garet Christopher Lockser, the Son of Hephaestus. And the second one is Alendis Wesley Lean, he was originally Apollo’s son but became Artemis’ blessed child when he was still an infant.
“I have an idea where we can hide,” Savannah stated. We waited for her to continue what she is saying, but she roamed around the room as if she was looking for something, her eyes laid on a map. “Here!”
She grins while pointing the infamous sacred walls. “But we still need to get from here.” I bluntly said.
“I can offer you my strength.” She smiled.
With just a glimpse, we are suddenly covered with a majestic light. Her amethyst eyes were glimmering as she began to change. The ash gray hair that she was proud of changes into a brunette, even her eyes became amber. She no longer looks like the amazona from earlier.
“Look at the mirror!” She pushed us towards the mirror.
“Guys, dadalhin natin ‘to.” I said.
I pressed the other switch of the secret base, and we immediately jumped out of the base that was slowly turning into a small cube.
“Holy Styx—” Glifford covered her mouth before she could actually shout.
We all covered our faces with the robe, I put the cube on my pocket and bid my goodbye to my beloved home.
“Let’s chase our dreams,” I whispered.
“You don’t have a dream.” Savannah scowled.
I cleared my throat, “Chase your dreams and I will find mine.”
