Annabeth

Annabeth smiled as she approached Happy's, the best restaurant in New Rome, though she might be a bit biased. She inhaled deeply as she entered, smelling all the college staples: hamburgers, pizza, tacos, and so much more. Her smile brightened when she saw the owner.

"Leo!" Annabeth greeted excitedly. "I didn't know you were back yet!"

"Hey, Annie," Leo grinned as he walked over. "Our vacation had to be cut short. Turns out, Tucson has a big cyclops problem."

"That sucks, but it doesn't mean you can call me Annie." Annabeth crossed her arms, trying not to smile.

"Hey, Leo," Percy smiled.

"Hey, P Man!" Leo grinned and gestured to a table before sitting. "How's college life treating you both?"

This caused the mood to drop immediately. "It's fine I guess," Annabeth mumbled.

"What's up with her?" Leo asked, turning to Percy. "I assumed she'd be all over this 'pursuit of knowledge' stuff."

"Pretentious rich girls and mansplainers," Percy briefly explained.

"Oh gods, that calls for olive pizza and a strawberry milkshake," Leo stood up and started walking towards the kitchen. "Is Reyna coming?"

"Yeah, she'll be here in about 5 minutes," Annabeth yelled after him.

"Awesome sauce." Leo ran back to the kitchen to put in their orders before rejoining them at the table.

"I didn't tell you wanted," Percy frowned and crossed his arms.

"Cheeseburger with extra cheese, no tomato, a side of fries, a loaded burrito, and a vanilla milkshake with blue food coloring," Leo said in a deadpan voice. Percy just rolled his eyes.

Reyna walked into the restaurant as a teenage girl dropped their food off at the table. "Hey Leo! Where's Calypso?"

Leo smiled brightly, a slight blush on his face, "She's unpacking her things."

Percy tilted his head, "I didn't know she was moving...what was wrong with her apartment?"

Leo smiled harder which Annabeth didn't think should be possible. "She's moving in with me! I helped her get all her things packed and to my apartment as soon as we got back! She's already almost done unpacking!"

"That's great!" Reyna said. "This will be good for you two...Annabeth?" Annabeth hummed and looked up at Reyna. "Olive pizza and a strawberry milkshake? Either something really good happened or something really bad...spill"

Annabeth sighed, "Do you know someone named Genevieve?"

Reyna frowned. "Genevieve who?"

"Avington," Percy and Annabeth said simultaneously.

"Oh her," Reyna frowned. "Her mother was the longest standing senator, she still advises us. We were in the same cohort too, but she was never helpful. I don't like her."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. Of course. "She said you two were best friends. Anyways, she already hates me. She threatened to have me kicked out of the school...and New Rome."

Reyna laughed angrily, "As if she could convince anyone to do that."

"It's okay," Annabeth looked at Percy who was looking at her concerned. "Really, I'll be fine. We need to get going anyways, or class is starting soon."

The others agreed and they grabbed their things to go to their next class of the day.

I'm sorry for the short, choppy chapter. I promise they'll be better in the future. I'm really busy right now, but I really wanted to give y'all an update. Thank you all so much for reading!
