Chapter 3-A filler chapter for no good reason
I own none of this at all...please just see the disclaimer at the first part cause I'm a little lazy
Third POV
Annabeth and Percy walked up to the praetors' office hand in hand, where they saw Hazel and Frank exit, talking in hushed tones.
"Frank, I'll IM you as much as possible, or however messages are sent with wizards. Promise." Hazel said, and Percy gathered that Frank was being his usual overprotective self.
"Okay, but please be safe. I'll miss you." Frank sighed, hugging Hazel. She pecked him on the cheek and they both blushed.
Hazel walked up to them. "Ready?"
Percy groaned. "Yeah." He cast a final look over his shoulder at the city, then took Hazel's hand. Annabeth took her other hand, and the three melted into the shadows.
They were spit out in a gloomy square. Even though it was 4 in the afternoon in England, the sky was grayish and clouds obscured the sun. Hazel hated it-it reminded her of Alaska.
There was a chill in the air, too, so the three all grabbed their jackets from their various storing places-Hazel's was in her bag, Percy had been pretending to be a superhero, so his was tied around his shoulders, and Annabeth(like an actual sane person) had hers tied around her waist.
"Gods- I mean, God, it's cold. Why are we undercover again?" Percy asked, shivering.
Annabeth slapped him. "UNDERCOVER, Seaweed Brain."
"Right."
A man in sparkly robes walked out of a house that wasn't there before-how did that work?
"You must be the American demigods, is that right? Don't worry, I know who you are. I'm one too, actually. Kingsley Shacklebolt, son of Athena."
"Hey. I'm Annabeth Chase, your half-sister." Annabeth shook his hand. "Do we still need to be undercover?"
"Yes. I think it would be wise to stay secret for the time being. We're on the brink of a war and your sole mission is to be quiet, retrieve the demigods, and leave."
"We can help! We've saved the world a bunch of times!" Percy piped up, and Hazel rolled her eyes.
"Percy, this isn't the kind of war you're used to, obviously. These are wizards, and I'm really not sure what it is that we're getting into. I think it's best if we just stay low-key and try not to make a scene. I'm Hazel Levesque, by the way. Pluto's daughter and Praetor of the Twelfth Legion. He's Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon."
"Yes, I assumed that." Kingsley said calmly.
"What made you think that?" Percy asked.
"The Nemo toy, Little Mermaid shirt, Dory baseball cap and your pen. Riptide, I assume?"
"Yeah. Can we go inside? I'm, like, really cold." Percy started shivering again, clutching his Nemo plushie tighter.
*le sigh from annabeth*
Annabeth POV
We went inside and Percy coughed. "There's a...bit...of dust in here."
"Percy! That's really rude of you."
"Sorry. Sometimes-"
"WE KNOW. Your thoughts fall out of your brain and into your mouth and then they come out. You've explained this too many times." Annabeth muttered.
"HALFBLOODS! VERMIN IN MY HOME, DIRTYING THE NOBLE HALLS UPON WHICH MY ANCESTORS WALKED WITH PRIDE, MUDBLOODS RUINING THE REPUTATIONS MY PEOPLE WORKED SO HARD TO-" The (quite ugly) painting was screaming, but Annabeth grabbed a knife from the table and threw it with deadly accuracy into the painting's head.
"Huh. Hey, George, why didn't we ever just...Stab it?" Two boys with flaming red hair entered, and the demigods jumped. "Uh, hi. I'm Percy, and this is Annabeth and Hazel. We're exchange students?"
"Oh, you can drop the cover. We know you're demigods, but none of the other kids do." One of the twins said. "I'm Fred, and this is my twin, George. We're starting our seventh year at Hogwarts."
"Oh, that's good. See, Annabeth, it's no use going undercover." Percy grinned, looking to Hazel for support.
She put her hands up and backed away. "Nope. I know better than to get into a Percabeth fight. For the two of you, Percy and Annabeth are dating, and their ship name is Percabeth."
One of the twins (George?) nodded, but the other looked confused. The other twin whispered something in his ear and he nodded in understanding.
A redheaded girl ran down the stairs. "FRED! Where's Crookshanks? Hermione's going insane looking for him-she nearly tore off Ron's head!"
"How am I supposed to know, Ginny? It's not like Crookshanks follows me everywhere!" The boy-her brother, probably- shouted back.
"Oh, hi. I'm Ginny. Ginny Weasley. The two idiots over there are my brothers. I'm in my fourth year at Hogwarts. You must be the Americans." There was an aura coming off the girl, but Annabeth was pretty sure that she wasn't a demigod-maybe a legacy or something. From the looks of her, maybe Ares or Hermes.
"Hey. I'm Hazel Levesque. I'll be a year ahead of you. Do you mind filling us in about Hogwarts?" Hazel asked, smiling at the girl.
"Sure. Come upstairs and we can talk."
----timeskip brought to you by wanda maximoff cause she's got them on her show----
"So this is Ron and Hermione. Our other friend, Harry Potter, is coming later." The five of them sat on the floor
Ron looked expectant when Ginny said Harry's name, but his expression fell when Percy asked, "Who?"
"Harry Potter? The savior of the Wizarding World? Bloody hell, do you even know who he is?"
"Ron, he's not as famous across the pond, as any educated young wizard knows." Hermione said patiently. She sounded like she'd had to explain this to him many times, and Annabeth could relate.
"You said there were houses at Hogwarts, right? How does that work?" Hazel asked, scooting away from Annabeth, who was glaring at Percy.
"Well, there are four houses. We'll start with Gryffindor. Gryffindors value determination and raw bravery. They can be a little self-righteous sometimes. All of us are Gryffindors.
"Next are the Hufflepuffs. They're often seen as gullible, naive, and overly kind, but they're actually really loyal and hard-working. They always put in 100%, and I really can't think of one bad thing to say about them." Hermione sat back.
"I can think of a few things." Ron grumbled.
"What, then?"
"They're closer to the kitchens."
"Oh, because that's so offensive. Ginny, care to explain Ravenclaws?"
"Sure. Ravenclaws value intelligence and originality, but they're often seen as the nerds. They're generally really nice, though.
"Slytherins...Slytherins are largely stereotyped as villains. They value ambition, confidence, and determination. There's a rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor. It's been going on for centuries."
"RON, HERMIONE, GINNY, ANNABETH, PERCY, HAZEL! TIME FOR DINNER!"
The six headed downstairs.
