Chapter 2-The Calling

Hazel POV
Hazel wasn't really having a great day.
It had started when she went over to Bombilo's to get her daily caramel frappe. Of course, they were out-a horde of college students had rampaged in and sold him out. Then, the Fifth Cohort didn't show up to help construct the temple to Kym, of course, because they were out in San Francisco at Lavinia's favorite tap studio.
Gods, that girl could be quite infuriating when she wanted to be.
So that set building progress back a day, which was bad, because Annabeth had finished a lot of the designs for the Temple Hill additions.
On top of that, she still hadn't mastered the cloak-to-sweater wrap thingy. Frank liked to wear his around, and he was trying to teach her how, but the two of them never had the time.
Then there was the new exchange program between the camps; it was one of Piper's ideas, actually. She'd Iris-Messaged both camps to share her idea- Roman kids could go to Camp Half-Blood to learn about other fighting styles, and Greek kids could go to Camp Jupiter to get some discipline and see New Rome.
Hazel was completely on board with it, but it took a lot of time and energy to organize everything.
Being praetor was hard, and that was why Hazel was worried about this new message from Chiron-it would only add more to her workload.
"What do you mean, wizards exist?" Percy asked, his mouth full of blue corn chips.
"I know it's a lot to take in, but there are two demigods at Hogwarts-"
"Their school is called Hogwarts?" Annabeth said, trying not to laugh.
"I-yes, laugh all you want, Annabeth, but the two demigods are in danger. One is fourteen, and the other is fifteen. Their school's magical boundaries have kept out monsters for now, but two schools have just visited from different parts of Europe, which means some borders are still down, which also happens to mean that monsters will be able to get in."
A/N: Please just pretend that the timelines match... Also, comment! I'd love to hear what houses you want Percabeth and Hazel in! Should I make Frank go too? I was thinking Gryffindor for Hazel, she literally died-that takes bravery, but it would be a tough choice between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Annabeth's a total Slytherin, and I'm definitely not saying that because I'm one. Percy... IDK, anything except Ravenclaw for him XD.
"Why us, though, Chiron? Haven't we been through enough? I mean, Percy and Annabeth walked through Tartarus, and I had to deal with a farting magic polecat for 13 days. Isn't that enough for you?" Hazel exclaimed.
"This is a serious mission, Hazel. I chose you because you're skilled in magic, and this is Hecate's domain. Percy and Annabeth because they're the strongest and smartest demigods I know of, respectively. I already asked Reyna to take over as praetor while you're gone. It shouldn't be more than two months."
"Two months? Chiron, I'll miss school!" Annabeth groaned, and Percy put an arm around her.
"Annie, it's fine. I heard college only gets intense around, uh, March." Hazel could tell that Percy had made that up just to make Annabeth feel better.
"Don't call me that, Seaweed Brain. Or I'll call Sally and tell her about your tattoo." Annabeth smirked triumphantly.
Hazel whipped her head around. "Perce, really? Sally doesn't know about the brand? Is someone scared of losing blue cookie privileges?"
Percy lifted his chin. "Perhaps, but I take the Fifth."
Annabeth laughed. "Hey, is anyone else coming? Piper, Leo, Calypso, Frank?"
Chiron shook his head. "No. Leo and Piper's powers can come out at random moments, and Frank tends to do it whenever he gets emotional about something. Calypso would draw too much attention-she still hasn't adjusted to the modern world fully."
Annabeth nodded. "That's reasonable, but I do think two months is a bit long. I'm pretty sure we can find two demigods in about a week."
Chiron sighed. "We'll see, all right? How would you like to get there? A boat would take too long, Percy, so don't think about it. We know you can't fly, maybe Nico can shadow-travel you?"
"Actually, I can do it, Chiron. I've been practicing, and I can do up to four people now, so I shouldn't have trouble. We're not going to bring very much, right?" Hazel asked, estimating in her head.
"Yes, you'll be outfitted with new clothes there, so just bring the necessities. Can you leave tomorrow, once you've told all of your families?"
"I think so, but this is really short notice, for a potentially two-month quest. Actually...sure, whatever. It's gonna be an ADVENTURE!" Percy cried, flinging his stuffed Nemo across the room, where it conked Hazel in the head.
"Ow!"
"Sorry..."
"Alright. You'll be shadow-traveling to Grimmauld Place, London. I've got the coordinates here, too-" (Chiron shows her a piece of paper and Hazel writes it down) "and you'll be posing as exchange students. If you ask Ella at Cyclops Books And Prophecies And Also a Cat, I'm sure she'll have something for you."
Percy waves his hand through the IM, severing the connection.
"We've got work to do."
