Chapter 9

***EDITED***

Thalia's POV

"There's a basilisk under the table," came Sila's panicked whisper. The demigods froze and dropped their food.

"W-what?" Nico stammered.

"How do you know?" Annabeth asked.

"Because," Sila said, shaking. "It crawled over my foot,"

"Oh my gods Sila," I said, knowing that she was terrified of snakes.

"Yeah, but how do we get rid of it? And why is no one else noticing it?" Reyna asked.

"The mist,"  Nico said simply.

"Maybe...... maybe if we all stabbed it at once, no one would notice us and it would disintegrate?"  Percy said. I mocked a look of shock.

"Wow, seaweed brain! You actually came up with a decent plan!" I said in a mocking voice.

"Shut up pinecone face. Now, everyone have their weapons ready?" Percy said. I unsheathed my hunting knives under the table, then nodded, as did everyone else. Sila and Annabeth were concentrating hard, and the Annabeth said,

"Okay, ready? One, two, three, go!" I shoved my blade down and it met the basilisk's scaly body, and then it denigrated.

"Whew," Reyna breathed a sigh of relief as we all sheathed our weapons. "That was close!"

Unfortunately, we hadn't gone unnoticed. Harry, Ron, Ginny and Hermione were staring at us with questioning looks.

"Bloody hell, mates!" Ron exclaimed. "What was that?"

Harry looked just plain confused. "You guys were all talking in Greek and you sounded really panicked, and then you all jerked down all of a sudden, and-" he was cut off by me snapping my fingers.

"You didn't see anything. All you saw was us talking and eating our food," I said, manipulating the mist. They nodded, and went back to eating.

"Sure is great having you here, Thals," Sila said. "I've been stuck with this," She gestured to all the guys who were still staring at her.

I smiled mockingly, and then looked around at my friends. Reyna and Nico were having a whispered argument in Greek about who's parent was better. Annabeth and Percy were sitting close together, holding hands while Annabeth was raving about the architecture. Sila and I talked about the hunt for awhile, and then we all left together to go up to the Gryffindor common room. Annabeth, Sila and Percy finished their homework, and then we all went to bed. I was in a dormitory with Reyna, Sila, Annabeth, Hermione, and Ginny. We talked for a little while, and then settled down, praying for a dreamless sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of Annabeth AND Reyna screaming. Sila jumped out of bed, and ran out the door. I cursed, and then ran back and forth from Annabeth to Reyna's side, trying desperately to wake them up.
"C'mon Annabeth, wake up! Its just a dream!" I said while shaking her violently. Hermione and Ginny were sitting up in their beds, not quite sure of what to do. I heard other students running to our dorm, trying to get in.
"Really, now," came McGonagall's voice. "Back to bed with all of you!"
Sila ran back in the room, with Percy and Nico close behind. Apparently they guys had gotten up the staircase somehow. Percy ran to Annabeth's side, Nico to Reyna's, and they both began muttering in their ears, so that only the demigods could hear.
"Its okay, wise girl, its okay. Its just a dream, we're not there anymore, your with me. Please wake up, wise girl, please?" Percy pleaded Annabeth.
Nico just simply shouted, "REYNA!", who opened her eyes, silent tears streaming down her face.
Annabeth shot bolt right up, looked around the room, and then began sobbing into Percy's shoulder. He stroked her hair, whispering comforting words to her. Just then McGonagall burst into the room.
"What happened? Is everyone okay? Who's dying?" she said, a concerned expression on her face.
"No ones dying, professor," I said. Then Sila walked closer to us and said,
"Though it might be best for the demigods to be in a separate dorm from the rest of the wizards, in case of..... nightmares," Sila whispered to her.
"That can be arranged," McGonagall nodded, and then left the room.
Sila sighed and looked at me, and said, "We have a lot of cleaning up to do,"
I nodded and said, "I'll take care of the girls if you do the boys?"
She cringed and made a face, but proceeded out the door and up the boys staircase.
"Girls!" I said loudly, and then snapped my fingers, manipulating the mist. "You didn't hear any screaming, and you didn't get out of bed. This was all a dream, but you can't remember the dream when you wake up. You are all very tired, and it would be best for you to go to sleep now," Everyone nodded, and then headed back to their dorms. Sila returned from the boy's staircase, though looking very tired; wiping that many people's memory's probably drained her, because she was new to the mist.
"I-I think I n-need t-to..." Sila stammered, and then collapsed onto the ground. I sighed and then picked her up and carried her up to our dorm, where Hermione, Ginny, Annabeth, Reyna, Nico, and Percy were sound asleep. I laid Sila in her bed, and then curled up in my own, hoping to sleep the rest of the night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Thals! Wake up!"  Sila was shaking me awake. I groaned and rolled over, hoping to go back to sleep.

"Thals!" Sila said, shaking me even harder. I pulled the blanket over my head. I heard Sila leave, and I quickly fell back asleep.

And then I was wet.

Soaking wet.

And not with warm water.

But freezing,

Cold.

Ice.

Water.

I sat bolt upright.

"SILA ESTRELLA! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!" I screamed. She chuckled, and then her eyes widened as I began to chase her around the room.

"Wait, Thals! I'll let you wake up Percy!"

I skidded to a stop with a mischievous smile on my face. Sila shook Annabeth awake, who climbed out of the bed and stood against the door. Reyna and Nico had apparently already left the room. I walked over to Percy.

"Percy," I whispered in his ear. He remained motionless.

"Percy you gotta get up," I said.

"But I gotta save Nemo from the crazy flying fishermen," He moaned.

"Percy get up now!"

"Don't turn me into a guinea pig!" He said, his eyes still closed.

"Percy-"

"DON'T TOUCH MY BLUE COOKIES!" he shouted, and then snored loudly. I sighed.

"You give me no choice then," I said, grabbing his wrist and shocked it. Hard. He sat bolt up right and hit his head on the wall.

"Thalia. Pinecone. Grace. I. Will. Kill you!" He lunged at me, but unfortunately for him, he was still half asleep, so I side stepped easily.

"Don't ever do that again!" Percy seethed, getting up from the floor. I whistled innocently. He rolled his eyes, and headed out the door, kissing Annabeth on his way, mumbling something about wishing I had stayed a tree. Boys.

We all got dressed and headed down to the Great Hall, where the others were waiting.

"You guys are SOOO hard to wake up!" Hermione complained. "You only have 5 minutes for breakfast!"

"Shoot," Percy said, and started shoving food into his mouth, while us girls began stuffing food in our robes.

"Might not want to do that," Ron advised us.

"Why not?" Annabeth asked him.

He blushed and said, "'Cause we have Care of Magical Creatures first today. Who knows what kind of stuff we'll be dealing with!"

Annabeth, Sila, and I shared the same horrified look, and began furiously eating the food that was stored inside of our robes. Reyna and Nico laughed at us as the bell rang, and we all began making our way outside towards Hagrid's hut. He smiled at us, a large brown trunk sitting behind him. Once all of the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs had arrived, Hagrid said,

"So, wha' we 'ave 'ere is a boggart. Now, I know yeh 'ave already done 'em with Professor Lupin, bu' I thought we 'outta go over 'em again, yeh know, jus' in case. So, if yeh'd please get intta a line..." After a lot of pushing and shoving, we had formed a line that went like this: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Sila, Susan, Emmaline, Ginny... blah blah blah, you get the point.

I turned to Annabeth. "What are boggarts?" I whispered to her. She shrugged, but looked a little pale not knowing what we were facing.

Harry approached the trunk as Hagrid opened it, and out came a dementor.

"Riddikulus!" Harry cried, and the hood of the dementor flew off to reveal a clown face. Ron stepped forward and CRACK! The dementor changed into a giant spider. Annabeth gasped and staggered back.

"Riddikulus!" Ron shouted, and all of the spiders legs fell off. Hermione stepped up, and the legless spider changed into Professor McGonagall telling her that she had failed all of her classes.

"Riddikulus!" The boggart McGonagall changed into a giraffe. Neville stepped forward. The boggart changed into Professor Snape.

"Riddikulus!" boggart Snape was wearing a dress.

"Its showing our worst fears!" Annabeth said suddenly. "Hey, Sila? I don't think-" too late. Sila had already stepped forwards. CRACK! The boggart changed into a tall man who had wavy light brown hair, green eyes, and a scar over his right eye. There was a giant red snake coiled at his feet, and it was slowly wrapping up his body. Sila froze.

"NO!" she screamed. "NO, PLEASE! I TRIED TO STOP IT! I TRIED TO SAVE HIM!!!! I TRIED SO HARD! NOOO! PLEASE, NOOOOO!" Sila was crying now. I lunged forward and stepped in front of Sila, who was on her knees. CRACK! The boggart changed into a giant cliff.

"R- r-ridikulus!" I stammered. CRACK! There was a black tarp over the cliff; it was a trampoline. Ginny stepped in front of me and I dragged Sila towards the others.

"I talked to Hagrid, he said we can sit out of this lesson," Percy said. Sila was still on her knees, silently crying, muttering things under her breath.

"You okay?" I asked her. She nodded, drew a shaky breath, and stood up.

"I'm good," Sila said. "Just... thinking," we all nodded, understanding what she had just went through. Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked towards us.
"You okay?" Hermione asked her.

Sila shrugged and said, "I think I'm gonna go lie down...", and got up and left.

"Who was that?" Ron inquired.

All of the demigods glared at him; he gulped and took a few steps back.

"Woah, he was just asking!" Ginny said.

"Yeah, no need for, that!" Hermione said.

I opened my mouth to tell them to back off, but the bell rang and we all took off across the lawn. Our next class was History of Magic; I heard it was really boring. We walked into the classroom, only to find that "Professor Binns" was a ghost.

He gasped when Nico walked in, and if possible, turned even paler.

"M-m-my l-" Professor Binns was cut off by Nico violently shaking his head no. Hermione and Ron were glaring at us. I shrugged and took a seat next to Annabeth, and Binns began his lecture. It was SOOO boring.

Annabeth was taking notes, looking very eager. Percy was playing with her hair; his feet on his desk. Nico was asleep, and Reyna was building a miniature New Rome. Eventually, I put my head down and went to sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up to Annabeth shaking me.
"Hey," she said, "Sila didn't turn up all class,"
I sighed and said, "I'll go check on her," and made my way out the door. As I climbed the many staircases towards the Gryffindor Common Room, doubts began to form in my mind. What if something happened? Was she hurt? It wasn't like Sila to miss a class.
"Fortuna Major," I told the portrait of the Fat Lady. The painting swung open, and I entered the Common Room. There was now a new staircase with a sign labeled 'Guests', and underneath that 'επισκέπτες', and underneath that, 'Hospites' (Guests). I climbed the staircase and opened the door, only to find an almost exact replica of the Gryffindor Common Room, but there were three staircases.
One was labeled 'κορίτσια', and underneath that, 'puellae' (girls), one was 'αγόρια', and underneath that 'pueri' (boys), and one was 'αίθουσα διδασκαλίας', and underneath that, 'disciplina locus'  (training room). There were two copies of a note on the table from McGonagall that said:
Semideis,
Posse hunc tantum pars turris, quae pro disciplina instructa. Tibi gratias ago pro adventu tuo parente est disposito in cubiculum tuum de hoc q.
Optimum,
(Demigods,
I put the Greek note back on the table and climbed the girls stair case, and entered a hallway with 7 doors. They were labeled 'Annabeth, Piper, Hazel, Thalia, Sila, Reyna, and Calypso'.  Curiosity won over, and I walked into my room before checking on Sila.
I gasped as I entered; the room was beautiful. The walls were a cool blue, and there was a large bed in the center of the room. One wall had a weapons rack, where my bow and arrows, hunting knifes, and sword already rested. There was a light brown desk pushed up against another wall with two large windows. I opened another door, which was the closet. Hogwarts robes, along with my hunters uniform and my usual choice of clothing were hanging there, and there was a fridge filled with all of my favorite snacks, along with ambrosia and nectar.
I reluctantly left my room and went across the hall to Sila's room.
I knocked on the door and said, "Sila? Can I come in?" No response.  I slowly opened the door and stared at the room. It was a mess. Sila's sword was missing from her weapons, there was stuffing from the bed and pillows all over the room, and... blood? There was blood all over the bed.
"Thalia Grace," a voice came from behind me. "Just the girl I'm looking for,"
I spun around, and everything went black.
