Chapter 6

***EDITED***

Annabeth's POV

Sila had been gone too long. There mu-

"ROOOOOAR"

Yep. Basilisk. Strangely enough, no one else seemed to notice.

"I.. uh... I gotta go to the bathroom..." I said and stood up quickly.

"Me t-" Percy started, but I cut him off with a look that clearly said,

It's too suspicious! Stay here, I can take care of myself!

He grudgingly sat back down.

"Okay!" Ginny said. "Do you need me to show you the way?"

"No, I'm good," I said, and quickly ran to the doors. I pulled them open just in time to see Sila kill the GIGANTIC basilisk, and then pass out; her arm covered in blood. "SILA!" I shouted, closing the doors.

"How.. the spell?" McGonagall stuttered.

"Doesn't work on demigods..." I muttered as I ran to Sila, catching her just before she hit the ground. I fished around in my pocket, pulled out a piece of ambrosia, and force fed it to her. Nothing happened.

"WHAT!?" I growled.

"Here," McGonagall said as she approached us. She pulled a large vial with clear liquid in it out of her robes, and poured a few drops of it on Sila's arm. The wound began steaming, and the blood stopped coming and it cleared up. It now only looked like a deep gash in her arm. Sila's eyes fluttered open; she gasped and sat up.

"Wha-What happened?" she exclaimed.

"The basilisk bit you," McGonagall said.

"What is that?" I asked, gesturing to the clear vial.

"Phoenix tears, they cure almost everything," McGonagall informed us. "Take it," she added. "Combine it with whatever you just fed her, maybe it can heal anything!"

Sila raised her eyebrow at me.

"Ambrosia," I whispered to her. She nodded and pulled some out of her robes. I took it and poured a drop of the tears on it. It burned up

"Okay... So that's not going to work," She said.

"Let me experiment with it some, I might be able to get it to work?" I reached out to take the vial, but I wasn't too sure of myself.

"Can we eat now?" Sila asked, acting if nothing had happened. She still looked a little pale, but at least the bleeding had stopped.

Sila studied her wound, then pulled a little bit of silver cloth out her robes and wrapped it, so no one would see the bite mark.

"That should hold for now..." she was muttering. She stood up and walked back into the hall, with me tagging along. We walked back over to the Gryffindor table and acted as if nothing had happened.

"Hey! Find it okay?" Harry asked.

"Yup," I hastily replied, popping the p. Sila caught McGonagall's eye and nodded. A small fire appeared beside each of our plates. I tossed in a chicken leg and a corn cob, muttering "Athena," Sila and Percy doing the same, but saying Apollo and Poseidon.

"Hey! What did you do that for?" Ron exclaimed.

"It's our religion," Sila explained.

"Still..." Ron muttered. I rolled my eyes and then dug into my food. It was very good, almost as good as the food at camp. Almost.

Percy's POV

When everyone had finished eating, Ron and Hermione, being the prefects, led us back to the Gryffindor common room. I shared a dormitory with Harry and Ron since the rest of their room mates hadn't returned this year. Sila and Annabeth were sharing with Ginny and Hermione; we had agreed to meet in the common room at 2:00 AM to discuss what we would do next. I decided to sleep now, worry later. Ron and Harry couldn't really understand why I wanted to go to bed, but I just told them I wasn't used to the time change. As usual, I had nightmares...

***TIME SKIP***

Hmmm... I see you met my basilisk, little hero. Well, with our combined forces, we will destroy your puny camp and then that weak school of yours. An evil laugh came. When we combine our monsters, we will crush you. You don't stand a chance.

A pale woman with dark curly hair and black robes appeared. But by all means, little hero, try to save your precious camp. The basilisk will not miss a second time.

I was suddenly standing on top of Half-blood Hill; the camp was totally submerged in the earth. All the people I had ever loved lay dead. I tried to scream, to save my friends and family, but my vocal cords weren't working. The pale woman laughed, pulled out a pitch black wand, and shot a blast of red light at me. I tried to run, but my legs were rooted in place. When the spell hit me, my whole body erupted in pain. The earth began to swallow me up and....

I gasped and sat up, covered in cold sweat. There were several deep gashes all over my body, the deepest being where the spell had hit me. I sighed and then headed off to the bathroom, trying to keep most of the blood off of the floor. The second I got in the shower, the water stopped the bleeding and the gashes disappeared. I got out and put on jeans and a t-shirt; returned to the dormitory to clean up the blood.

When I finished it was exactly 2:00 AM, so I crept down the hallway, down the stairs, and emerged in the common room. Annabeth and Sila were already standing there, eating squares of ambrosia, their gashes fading away.

"Nightmares?" I asked grimly. They nodded, and then sat down in two of the big armchairs. I sat in the other.

"So," Sila started. "Whoever we're facing has obviously teamed up with a wizard. The prophecy said that 'the dark lords servant' had risen with 'the maidens worst enemy'. If I had to take a guess, I would say that 'the maidens worst enemy' is Orion. I did some research, and one of moldyshorts, or whatever his name was, one of his most loyal servants was named Bellatrix Lestrange. I'm not positive that its her involved, because the thought of Orion working with a woman is... disturbing."

"Right," I said. "They've obviously combined their monsters, making them bigger and better. But I think they lost some qualities too. For example, the basilisk. It was huge, had a poisonous bite, and could spit acid, but it couldn't petrify people. We need to use these to our advantage,"

Annabeth nodded. "Its a lot to wrap my head around, and I've been working on the infusion. I need some sleep,"

Then Sila leaned closer, and motioned for Annabeth and I to come closer too. "Ginny's been watching us," she whispered, barley audible. "I'll have to wipe her memory!"

Sila then looked directly at Ginny, snapped her fingers, and said,

"You didn't see any of this. You never got out of bed, and don't remember any of this. Now go to sleep." She finished as Ginny collapsed to the floor. Sila walked over to her, picked her up, and carried her back to the dormitories.

"So..." I asked Annabeth sheepishly. "About that kiss?"

She rolled her eyes, but kissed me nevertheless.

"Night, Seaweed Brain," she said, finally pulling away, before heading off to the girls dormitory.

"Night, Wise Girl", I said, and then headed back to my dormitory, praying for a dreamless sleep.
