{Piper's POV}

We were all hanging out in a large room that I didn't know we had when Nico ran in.

"Will! It's Will! And - and camp, and...and Bianca, and Quinn, and-"

"Woah, woah, woah. Calm down, Nico. What's wrong?" Percy jumped. Nico whimpered.

"I had a nightmare. Camp...camp is in trouble. Will had his powers taken away by that - that thing.  And that thing is Quinn Hartley! From school!"

I spit out my orange juice in shock.

"Are we talking about the same Quinn Hartley? Blonde hair, brown eyes, little short? That same  Quinn Hartley?" I asked in disbelief.

"That's the one," Nico nodded.

"Hold on. You know this...this monster ?" Hazel asked.

"Yeah! On the night of the Beginner Bash, I met her in the bathroom, we bonded over hate of Sarabella Johnson. I don't believe it! It couldn't be her !" I argued.

"Well, believe it! That's what my dream showed me! And you know  demigod nightmares are never fake," Nico countered.

"Well, then, I'm confronting her at school tomorrow," I decided.

...

I finally spotted Quinn at her locker. I made sure no one was around, and I walked up to her.

"Oh! Hey, Piper," Quinn smiled. I slammed her against the locker.

"Okay, Quinn Hartley, what are you doing to the demigods at Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter?" I scowled. Quinn looked shocked.

"How do you know about the demigod world? You're not a demigod, are you?" Quinn asked.

"No duh! I'm one of the seven. I suppose you know the prophecy? You know, seven half-bloods will answer the call, to storm or fire the world must fall, an oath to keep with a final breath, and foes bare arms to the Doors of Death ? Yeah, that's the one," I threatened.

Her eyes widened. "I didn't think...I thought it was a coincidence! I didn't know you were the  Piper McLean!" she stage whispered.

"Well, guess what? I am! So answer me, Quinn Hartley. What are you doing to the demigods at Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter?"

"I don't know what you're talking about! I didn't do anything to them! Camp Half-Blood is my home. I wouldn't - I couldn't!"

"Tell the truth, or I'll use my charmspeak, and from what I've heard, that isn't fun," I whispered.

"I am! What's your proof?" she demanded.

"A demigod nightmare from Nico di Angelo. I'm sure you know of him. It had you  hurting his boyfriend and one of my bestfriends, William Solace!" I shot back.

Her eyes widened even further. "W - William Solace? Will got - got hurt by that thing ? No. No, not my little brother!" she whimpered.

"Little brother?" I asked, skeptical.

"Let me reintroduce myself. Quinn Candace Hartley, daughter of Apollo. Pleased to meet you," she quickly started. "Now back to that thought, Will's hurt?"

"Yeah, uh, he got attacked by the thing that's stealing powers," I told her hesitantly.

"He stole Will's, too? Oh gods, he already stole mine. Then Kayla, then Austin, then Lydia, and - oh gods, do you know if Cassidy Meyers is okay? Cassidy is my little sister, she's - she's only seven! And there's little Cooper, Bridget, Claire, and - and Darcy, and-" Quinn's voice got weaker with every name, and her eyes welled with tears.

"Hey, can you tell me what's going on? If you didn't do it, why did the person look like you?" I asked.

"It's a monster. Known as The Πολυμορφικός, or-"

"It translates to The Shapeshifter," I muttered.

"Yes. Well, that's what it is. A monster newly created by Gaea during the war...I guess it's back from Tartarus," she whispered.

"Gaea...created a new monster?" I asked.

She nodded. "Yeah, I - I fought it. And it...it killed her," she whispered, barely audible.

"Killed...killed who?" I asked hesitantly.

Quinn bit her lip. "It killed Rio. It...it killed Rionach (ree-in-ock) McNealy. She was a daughter of Tyche, and Irish, not that it's not already obvious. Her sister...Rhia was so upset. Rhiannon McNealy, I'm sure you know her. I haven't seen Rhiannon since the war...they were my best friends. I don't even know if Rhia's still alive. Maybe she's out there, looking for Rio. But Rionach and Rhiannon are dead, I - I can't have hope. Not as a demigod."

I remembered the shroud we had burned for Rionach. Nice girl. She and Rhiannon were two girls that had helped me out in my first months at camp. It was so sad that two such kind girls had a fate like this, but then again, isn't that what happened to all us demigods?

"Rio sacrificed herself for me and Rhia...and I happy for that, I am, but I couldn't forgive her. If I achieve Elysium, I'll see her again, but who knows at this point,"  she laughed it off awkwardly.

"I'm sorry," I whispered. "I know how it feels to loose someone important to you."

She nodded. "But enough with my sob story. Let's get to camp."

I smiled. "After school?"

"Meet you by the parking lot?"

"Deal."

"Deal."
