Chapter 5

Percy's POV

I glanced at the two strangers behind me. The girl looked like the type of daughter that me and Annabeth would have if we get married. Oh wait, what am I thinking? I blushed inwardly at this thought. The guy just looked serious and scary, kinda like Jason.

"So this is the archery place," I said to the couple, while waving at my fellow friends from the Apollo cabin. "Unless you're my friend Frank, a hunter of Artemis, or a child of Apollo, you probably won't be very successful at this station."

"I have a question. Do they use guns here at all?" Tris asked. I think she sounded hopeful. Maybe it was her signature weapon?

"Pssh. Guns? We rarely use those. What else do we need when we have swords, daggers, knives, spears, javelins, and Greek fire?" I said.

"Well, at least they have knives," I heard Tobias whisper to Tris. Before I could say something, my buddy Grover strolled over.

"Hey Percy! Hey strangers I didn't get to know! What're you doing at the archery station, Percy? I thought you sucked at archery?" Grover said.

"Well, thanks for rubbing it in," I mumbled.

"I was just joking Percy!" Grover said, laughing.

"Well, Tris and Tobias, that's one of my bestest friends, Grover the satyr. Say hello Grover!" I introduced, chuckling to myself as Tris and Tobias gawked at Goat Boy's legs. It just never gets old, does it?

...

After showing my fellow strangers the amphitheater, the lava climbing wall, the mess hall, the sword-fighting arena, the arts and crafts area, the armory, the stables, the volley ball courts, and (gasp for breath) finally the cabins (I don't understand why they didn't make Annabeth do all the introducing. But then again, she would make our guests fall asleep with 10,000 history lessons, so yeah, it's probably better for me to do the showing around), it was lunch at last. Finally!!!!!!! I was so hungry that my rumbling stomach sounded like the waves of the ocean (a.k.a. one of Poseidon's very disturbing farts).

"Where's the food?" Tris asked from next to me.

"Oh, it'll come. The food you most desire will show up on your plate," I replied plainly. Tobias looked down at his and gasped at what was on it. I raised an eyebrow. It looked like just a chocolate cake.

"Dauntless cake..." he breathed. He was drooling over it more than I drool in my sleep. Tris just smirked at him and stared down at her own plate. Her food looked really bland, although she seemed to love it. She called it Abnegation food. Suddenly, both Tris and Tobias's eyes were on my plate. I looked down and saw blue cake with blue coke. I grinned like a maniac then dived in. They were staring at me with a weird look on their faces.

"What?" I asked them, with a mouth full of blue food. "Don't judge." The two awkwardly broke away from their gaze.

"So, are you guys demigods or what?" I turned to see a familiar face decorated with an impish grin. It was Leo, of course, always there to joke with me. I wrapped my arm around his narrow shoulders, while Annabeth rolled her eyes and sat next to me.

"For the hundredth time, Leo, it hasn't been confirmed yet," my girlfriend said with a sigh. Leo held up a finger.

"Stop there. Numero uno - I Leo Valdez, Bad Boy Supreme. I am the super-sized mcshizzle. One does not just call me Leo." Annabeth rolled her eyes for what seemed like the fifth time today. How many times can girls roll their eyes in one day? Leo opened his mouth to continue but stopped as he noticed something. I felt a cold breeze wash over me.

Confused, I looked up from my messy plate to see Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Only her eyes were glazed over and she was surrounded in green fog the color of her eyes.

"Um, Percy, what is that?" Tris asked nervously from next to me. "Is this supposed to happen?" Annabeth abruptly stood up.

Worlds will collide,
Friends will turn into foes,
An old enemy will arise,
Bringing one friend on the go.

To the fallen city they will head
And pursue the enemy of the hero
Bullets and blades and blood
Will fall in a place down low

I stared in confusion at Rachel, my eyebrows furrowing. The message that the prophecy gave was oddly clear and the prophecy was unusually short. Even I was smart enough to know that something abnormal was going to happen. I opened my mouth to say something but the newcomer, Tris beat me to it.

"What the hell just happened?"

...

We were all seated at the Big House - me, Annabeth, Tris and Tobias, Chiron, Rachel, the rest of the Seven, and other head counselors.

"Well.. this is awkward," I muttered, my ADHD driving me to drum my fingers on the ping pong table. I looked up as Chiron started to speak.

"As most of you may know, this is a very unusual occurrence. Never has there been a prophecy this short and clear," he said, his wise eyes trained on the newcomers.

"Maybe it's like a trick question. Maybe it just seems clear, but has a hidden message behind it," Travis Stoll spoke up. Next to me, Annabeth knit her eyebrows. She was cute when she was thinking hard.

"I was thinking that Tris and Tobias might have some kind of influence on all this," she said, her stormy eyes showing confusion.

"Whatever the reason is, we have to take action. It's a prophecy, and prophecies mean quests," Clarisse said. Of course the daughter of Ares was eager to be engaged in another adventure. I was unsurprised.

"Well, how about..." my voice trailed off as I lost my train of thought. Everyone's head was turned to look at me as my ears turned red. I was being a Seaweed Brain again. Jason looked at me with sympathy as if to say, I feel you bro.

"Okay, then. Well, we know that there is a weird prophecy and we need to go on a quest, so let's get a good night sleep and come back here to discuss the matter. It's ten, and I'm tired," Rachel said after a while. Thankful that the attention on me was broken, I immediately nodded to her response.

Moments later I found myself walking under the stars with Annabeth, our hands intertwined.

"Well, Seaweed Brain, we have another quest coming up," she turned to look at me, the moon illuminating her blond hair, making it look like a halo of light. I smiled weakly.

"Let's hope we don't die," I said with a half-hearted chuckle. Annabeth kissed me lightly on the lips.

"Goodnight, Percy. We have a long day tomorrow."

...
