Chapter 13
Wilford's POV
I couldn't believe it. If this spell actually works then I could do anything. What would I do with all that power? It was a good question. Bill and I had been all over Gravity Falls in order to gather the correct things for the spell. We were so close! I had been feeling not quite like myself lately. I don't know, maybe it was that book. Was it controlling me? Just the thought of all that power plagued me. I could rule the world!
Was I going insane? No. It's just, I didn't just want the power. I needed it. But I had made a promise to Bill. I would use this power with him to find his family. But I had found his family. Yes. I knew where they were. So why didn't I tell him? Because he wouldn't like the truth. I just can't bring myself to tell him. I won't. I do feel bad. I'm using the poor boy to get what I want. To fill this ambitious hole inside me.
I'm losing it. I don't know what will happen when it's finally time. What have you done Wilford? What have you done?
Bill's POV
Wilford's been acting strange ever since we found that spell. I didn't regret helping him. We were in this together right? I wasn't so sure. I was a bit worried about Wilford. I would often catch him muttering to himself, I even told him he'd been acting weirdly ever since we came across that book. He didn't seem to hear me.
It was the last day. Almost time to work the spell. We had found the last thing. A bit of crystal. It was time. We decided to do it at night. You know, to have the closure of night. Wilford dressed to impress, he wore a red and white striped suit with a white tie. The look was completed by a black top hat. I wore a yellow and black suit. The bottom was made to look like brick work.
"It's time my friend." Wilford told me. We were in our favorite clearing. The spell page was opened and lit by a beam of moonlight. I laid out the ingredients in a line. I stepped back. Wilford began to chant the words on the page. The items glowed and conjoined. I stared in awe. Wilford's chants became louder, and everything fell in a haze. Lights encircled us, they flew and whipped and you could hear the chants everywhere.
You could feel the power. Then it all formed in a ball, and dissapeared into Wilford. Everything fell silent. I looked at him. He looked at me. Then he started laughing. It was a laugh of victory, and maybe a bit psychotic too. "We did it Bill. I have it all now. More power than you can imagine." Wilford said. "Thank you for helping me. Sadly there is no use of you to me now."
What? "What do you mean? What about your end of the deal. You said you would help bring my parents here." I said to Wilford. He only smiled at me.
"Your family never wanted you. I did my research on them and I even called, they didn't love you. You were just a burden. It was better off if they just left you."
I felt like I had just been shot. Was he lying? No. Something told me he wasn't. "You used me! Wilford this isn't you. Where's the man I knew?" I asked fearfully.
"Gone." Wilford laughed. I couldn't let him use this power. I charged at him but he shot me back with power. "Time to get rid of you." He smiled. He's lost it.
"You promised!" I yelled. Wilford only smiled that same insane smile. He pointed at me and I felt a pain in my chest. I gripped it in pain and fell down. What was he doing? Then I could tell from the look on his face that something was wrong. I was surrounded in light, and then I transformed into this monster. Wilford had some how slipped up and the books power flowed into me. I was transformed into a dream demon.
Wilford backed away from me in fear. He was powerless. I realized my newfound power. I was filled with so much hate. I knew the book made Wilford think irrationally but he had wronged me. I wish it wasn't this way. "Bill! l-I'm so sorry, I didn't know what I... What are you going to do?" Wilford asked fearfully.
"Send you away. Don't return to Gravity Falls. I'll let you go with your life." I said. I knew that he had betrayed my trust and turned me into a monster , but the human part of me that lingered knew he was still Wilford. I sent him away. And my human feelings left me. I felt nothing now. I never saw that pink mustached man again.
