Kris X Shy!Childhood Friend!Reader

Requested by inesnff, AreebaDazzle, Kellizone, AlexTheSecond92, and NoodsDoobs900. Thank you!!!

Kris is male in this.

Oh, and for all y'all who voted in the Jevil poll: some lemon sauce is coming for those tacos. ;3 It's taking a bit longer than planned, but a friend is helping finish it (really, she's writing most of it, I love her so much), so it'll be coming soon!

"What are you eating...?"

Kris jumped in surprise and gulped down whatever was in his mouth. You felt a twinge of embarrassment at bothering him, especially when he turned away instead of responding.

It was late afternoon, and you hadn't talked to Kris all day. He'd disappeared yesterday with no warning, and you wanted to make sure he was okay.

"S-sorry, I just wanted to ask... Would you like to go with me to the library?" You said softly. Kris paused a moment before shaking his head and moving to walk away.

"I'm busy." was the only reply you got.

You had known him for a long time, ever since Mrs. Toriel adopted him, and suddenly Kris had begun ignoring you. It hurt, you hated to admit, that such a close friend would disregard you like that.

His well-being mattered to you. And he didn't seem to be doing so well.

"Chalk."

Jumping in surprise, you turned to see Susie standing behind you. Like most, you had a fairly strong fear of her. But no maliciousness was in her words.

"He was eating chalk," she repeated, raising an eyebrow. "What are ya, an idiot?"

You hastily shook your head. She let out laugh.

"Pretty tasty, you should try some. ___, was it? Yeah, anyways, you're gonna have trouble getting much outta him."

"Why's that?"

Susie stiffened a bit, and for the first time you could remember, she looked nervous. "Eh, well," she stuttered, rubbing the back of her head, "Kris and I, we, went somewhere, and he's a bit... Out of it, y'know?"

You looked away from Susie and towards Kris' retreating figure. He did seem different, somehow. Susie clapped a hand on your shoulder, and you let out a small yelp at the sudden pressure.

"Maybe you should talk to him, eh?"

That is a lot easier said then done, you thought. But she had a point.

So, squaring your shoulders and taking a deep breath, you stepped out after him.

--

Kris turned to look at you with a blank expression. The boy you once knew was gone, replaced by this.

"W-what's up Kris? Y-You aren't acting like y-yourself..." the words fell from your lips very fast, nervous as you were.

"____, please, go away, I don't-"

Something inside you snapped. "STOP BRUSHING ME OFF!" you yelled, drawing attention from a few passerby. (Author-Chan: Reader has Yandere moment) But your shy nature wasn't going to sit down to be ignored. "What's wrong with you?! Are you being bullied? Are you having problems at home? Tell me what's wrong! I've known you for so long, you always confided in me. What happened!?"

Kris looked surprised by your sudden outburst. His eyes widened and he shook his head. Wiping his bangs away from his face, his eyes widened in confusion.

"Huh? What? I-I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me, I've been out of it since yesterday..."

This was really dang confusing.

"What exactly... Happened yesterday?" You asked hesitantly. Krsi gave a wry smile, the first you'd seen all day.

"You won't believe me."

"Try me."

He shrugged and looked off into the distance for a moment. Turning back, he smiled softly and put an arm round your shoulder.

"If you insist. I'll tell you and walk ya home, how about that,"

You nodded, glad that he was regaining his normal demeanor.

So, on the walk home, he told you the story. And yup, you didn't believe him, not at first at least. But you slowly were being pulled into his tale, and it sounded  so... real.

You wanted to say he was lying, but Kris wasn't a liar, far as you knew. He looked at you with a knowing gaze. "You think I'm lying, don't you?"

The two of you had reached the door to your house. Kris looked sad, and, you noticed lonely. Guy had few friends.

You where happy to be counted as one of them.

"I believe you, Kris." He looked up at you, surprised, and grateful. "And I hope I can see this place too, someday. Soon, hopefully."

He enveloped you in a hug, and you squeezed back. "Thank you," he muttered in your ear.

"Take care, buddy."

You planted a kiss on his cheek, then stepped away and turned to go inside, not seeing the embarrassed blush that graced his face.

--

What a lovely person, the small voice in the back of his head said softly. Unfortunately, we have other things to do.

Kris' eyes suddenly darkened, and the smile slowly slipped from his face.

He turned and headed home.

Dark ending wtf Author-Chan

Sorry for the shorter one, Kris ain't easy to write. He's such an emotionless sh*t. I love him, reminds me of me.

See ya soon with those delectable Jevil tacos. Extra lemons.
