Shit. I thought.

A faint snarl caught my attention. I slowly turned my body go face a-rather large- alligator. The green color was darkened and black. I could hear everyone's rapid breathing.

Then it charged.

"Guys!" I called, "Move to higher ground!"

Elijah and Sub followed my command and ran to a building. Denis stayed put.

"What about you, Alex!" Denis yelled.

"Get them to the hotel! I'm finding that girl!" Anubis's spoke.

"Alex-"

"Don't 'Alex' me." I turned away. "I'm stopping that thing and it's too dangerous for you!"

"Whatever you say." Denis ran off.

It's her.

The gator snapped its jaws at me. I dodged the punch and kicked  in the face.

It's your wretched girl.

I grumbled st the voice and attempt to shift. The tar oozed, but only my arms were black. Why is it hurting now? I feel like I'm being stretched. I extend an arm and whipped the gator. A scream hitched from my breath.

It hurts! Gahhhhhh!

Why is it hurting?! It never... hurts...

The whip must've scared Esther off because the gator wasn't there.

Well shit. Better keep this wild goose chase up-
