Nalani, her uncle Henry, and her cousin Zephyr are on their way to the Annual General Meeting of the Foundation. "Sorry about this, Nalani," her uncle says from the passenger seat. Nalani, trying to keep her spirits up, smiles and reassures him, "It was going to happen anyways. Mother left it to me after all." Zephyr, driving, glances at her through the rearview mirror, offering words of encouragement. "You'll do fine, Nali," he says, and Nalani responds with a reassuring smile.

Upon arrival, the board members quiet down as they enter the meeting room. Zephyr shows Nalani her seat and sits beside her, while Henry takes a seat on the right instead of the president's chair, causing confusion among the board members. One of them stands up, questioning Henry's choice. Henry, however, insists that the seat is not for him. The room erupts in murmurs, but Henry remains firm, stating that they are waiting for another board member attending for the first time. This announcement calms the room slightly, though Nalani and Zephyr are both curious about the newcomer.

As they wait, Nalani learns from Zephyr that the absent board member is the foundation's largest sponsor, known only through his secretary. Suddenly, the double doors open, and two men enter. The room falls silent, and Nalani, keeping her head down, feels a sense of tension. When she finally looks up, she is shocked to see her father, Giovanni, smiling at her. Overwhelmed, she rushes to hug him, tears streaming down her face as she asks, "Dad... is it really you?"

Giovanni embraces her, apologizing for his long absence and expressing regret for missing her growth. After a heartfelt reunion, Giovanni addresses the board, explaining his previous health issues and reassuring them. As the meeting is about to start, they wait for the last member.

When the doors open again, the final attendees arrive, and the room stands once more. Nalani, wiping her tears, finally looks up to see Theodore, the man she didn't expect, entering with his secretary. Zephyr whispers that Theodore is the foundation's biggest sponsor, much to Nalani's surprise.

As the meeting begins, Nalani and Theodore exchange knowing looks, hinting at their intertwined futures. "Well, I guess it's good to see him again."
