Make this recipe:

YOU'LL NEED:
Chocolate donut wands:
• About 3 cups whole wheat pastry flour, plus more for dusting
• 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
• 1 tablespoon ground espresso powder
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup neutral oil
• 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar

Glow glaze:
• 1/4 cup cornstarch or arrowroot powder
• 5 tablespoon tonic water, plus more for thinning (about 1/2 cup total)
• 1 cup white chocolate chips
• White glitter sprinkles, optional

LETS GO:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees, and prepare a sheet tray with parchment paper.

2. Make donut wands: in a large bowl, stir together flour, cocoa powder,  espresso powder, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, then add the sugar, oil, vanilla, and vinegar.

4. Fold dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until everything is just combined into a thick dough. If the dough feels thick, wet your hands and incorporate the moisture into the dough until pliable and holds together.

5. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface, form into a disc and roll out into a 1/2-inch-thick rectangle. Cut the rectangle into 12 long, thin, wand-shaped triangles that are about 1 1/2 inches wise at the base. Grabbing the ends of a triangle, twist it to create a swirled texture. Add more texture or carvings on the handle using a small paring knife, if desired. Repeat with remaining dough.

6. Place wands on a lines baking sheet, and bake until the donuts are cooked through, about 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool while you make the glaze.

7. Make the glow glaze: in a small bowl, combine the arrowroot powder or cornstarch and 5 tablespoons of the tonic water.

8. In a bowl over a double boiler or in the microwave, melt the white chocolate chips, then whisk in the tonic water mixture. Once its combined, add more tonic water until the icing is just thin enough to lightly coat a spoon.

9. Transfer glaze to a jar and dip the ends of the wands in. Add glitter sprinkles and enjoy!
