SIX. a drunk thing to do

RORY'S FRIENDS versus Belly's friends were heavily drastic.

Belly was friends with Moon, Yasmin, Sam, whoever. You know, the fifty-eight percent. The popular crowd.

While Rory's friends were practicing karate on each other at the park during lunch. And while Hawk and Bert began to spare with each other, Aisha, Miguel, Rory, and Demetri sat on a nearby bench as Miguel sulked about Sam, his girlfriend at this point, having another boy over.

"Come on, eat something. It'll make you feel better." Demetri said.

"He's sadly right." Rory added.

"I told you I'm not hungry, man." Miguel pouted.

Demetri spoke, "I still think you're overreacting."

"Yeah, Sam seems like a nice girl. She's friends with my sister and Belle hasn't said anything negative about her." Rory said.

"I'm not overreacting, dude." Miguel sighed, "I know what I saw."

"All right, so you saw her eating dinner with some chode." Hawk said, after kicking Bert down to the ground, "It's probably her brother or something."

"No, dude. Brothers don't look at their sisters like that."

"Depends what part of the country you're in." Demetri said.

"You're not helping." Rory quipped, "That's probably the dumbest shit you've said this week."

"This week?" Demetri questioned, "I'll have you know that I—"

"Look, I just don't want what happened to Sensei to happen to me." Miguel cut.

In this case, apparently Johnny had his girl stolen from him from the guy who kicked his ass at All Valley years ago.

"All right, so you go over to this kid and beat his ass so he doesn't have the chance." Hawk suggested.

"That's also stupid." Rory said, "Just talk to Sam. It's the best way to go about things especially if you're not eating over it."

"She's sadly correct." Demetri added, "Don't listen to Eli."

"It's Hawk." He scoffed.

"Yeah, whatever." Demetri continued, "The fact is, Sam's given you no reason not to trust her."

Miguel sighed, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"That little bitch." Aisha suddenly exclaimed, "You know that video I posted of me breaking that board? Look what Yasmine commented."

Impressive... can't believe the belt made it around ur waist.

"I gotta do something."

"In this case, I would personally beat her ass." Rory said.

"How about we kidnap her and have my boy Rico tattoo bitch on her face?" Hawk suggested.

Rory slide down the bench and rolled her eyes, "Anytime you or Demetri speak I lose a slither of hope."

"Wait, wait, wait." Aisha called, "I've got a better idea. Look."

Yasmine was throwing a party over at the Canyon that was "VIP only". Rory had gotten the VIP invite through Belly before she left for the park.

Aisha's plan was simple. They would crash the Canyon before Yasmine and her friends made their way there.

So, that evening, Rory asked her parents to borrow their car and her and Belly would drive to the party together.

Layla hesitantly handed her car keys over and Rory rested in the car as Belly skipped her way down the steps and into the car.

"You know, I'm surprised you're going." Belly said.

Rory furrowed her brows and glanced over at Belly, "Why? We went parties all the time in Seaford."

"Yeah, but, you've never willingly gone to one, let alone thrown a party. I've always had to drag you to them."

Rory shrugged her shoulders and tapped the stirring wheel, "It's just revenge I guess. You're friend is always fat-shaming mine, so why not ruin her party."

Belly fell back into her seat. Staying silence for a moment before glancing over at Rory.

"I didn't know that."

"I don't think it's your priority to keep tabs on her." Rory said, "Like you said, she's the fifty-eight percent. She's an asshole. It's really up to you if you stay friends with her or not."

"I don't think I'll be friends with her after attending another person's party over her own."

"It's probably better that way." Rory softly smiled, "Sam was probably the best out of the friend group of yours."

"Moon's all right. She's not too bad. She has her moments, but nothing compared to whatever the hell Yasmine is doing."

The two sisters softly smiled and soon enough they arrived at the party and made their way down to the others.

Yasmine and her friends soon arrived, but they soon left only leaving Yasmine and Moon behind.

The party was in full swing. People were dancing around the fire, people making out, and drinking until the pain would go away.

It was dramatic, but it was true. Miguel had been off chugging beers even after Rory tried to have him back down. But her calls would go ignored and she would find herself leaning against her parents car as she caught Hawk and Moon making out by the fire.

"Here."

She looked up and saw Demetri holding out a water bottle for her.

"Is it poisoned?" She asked.

"No, I don't have the time to make anything like that."

She softly smiled and grabbed the bottle from his hands and joined her side.

"Eli told me about this kiss you two had." He said, "It must be weird seeing him swap spit with Moon."

"Not when you put it like that." She scoffed, "I don't really know Eli— Hawk... whoever the hell he is. I kissed him because I thought he should have it with someone that would care about him for the time being."

Demetri furrowed his brows, "Time being?"

"Do you really think he's going to keep up that Hawk persona?" She asked, "It's the stupidest fucking thing. No one can change like that overnight... not permanently."

"I don't know. This is the most confident I've ever seen him and I've been friends with him for years."

Rory looked up at Demetri, "Are you not scared that this Hawk shit is going to get to him?"

"No."

Rory only nodded and sighed, "Thanks for that water."

Demetri only nodded and left Rory side not long after. She was once again alone until another car pulled into view.

She pulled her phone out to look busy. She liked parties whenever she had a drink or two, but she felt out her element slightly when one of her friends was making out with a girl she didn't know, the other was drunk, and the other was Demetri... and she wasn't friends with him.

Her sister had been off with some other crowd of people and she wasn't going to indulge in any of the shit they were doing either.

She looked up from her phone and found Robby making his way towards him with Sam following behind.

Looking down at the duo, Rory saw Miguel approaching them and things shifted so quickly as Miguel shoved Robby to the ground.

Rory rushed down as other partygoers looked at the scene unfolding in front of them.

"Hey, man wanna try that again?" Robby questioned, quickly standing to his feet.

"Again?"

"Don't!" Sam cried.

And before anyone could interject, Miguel threw his first towards Robby, but Sam had jumped forward and his fist quickly collided with her face.

Miguel seemed to snap out of it as soon as Sam had hit the ground. He bent down to help her, but she stood on her own and broke up with him right then and there.

The party was slowly dying down and Rory received a text on her phone.

Belly had left with Sam and Robby to take care of the girl and Belly only told Rory that she would be leaving early.

But without knowledge, Rory and Belly would soon be at the same place.

RORY WAITED outside the household of the LaRusso's. It was a fairly large place... when you have a dad who sell luxury cars, you might as well have a house to match.

She tapped her fingers against the stirring wheel as she waited for Robby to come outside and once he had, he held a very emotional expression, but he didn't say anything as he sat in the car.

She pulled out of the driveway and silence brooded over them.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"I'll figure it out." He muttered.

"What is that suppose to mean?"

"Means I'll figure it out."

Rory only nodded and continued to drive. She hadn't done anything to him. In fact, she was kind enough to pick this guy up. A guy she didn't really know, by the way.

But, she knew he was upset with something or someone and she wasn't going to push his limits.

She glanced back over at Robby and he rested his head against the door of the car with his eyes shut.

A lot had happened in the little time that it did and she knew that "I'll figure it out" wasn't really figuring much out.

So, she kept on driving until the car stopped.

She gently nudged Robby and he lifted his head up. He furrowed his brows, looking out the window of the car.

"I'm not staying here."

"I'll give you the signal to climb up. My window is on the second floor. Climb the tree and skip the third branch."

She exited the car and Robby opened the passenger's door.

"Aurora!"

"If you don't stop shouting, not only will my dad kill you, but so will I."

She turned once more and entered her household. She prayed that her parents would be asleep, but it was only 11 and her dad was most likely watching PPV.

And he was.

He looked back from the couch and smiled at the girl.

"You're home late."

"I'm sorry." She sighed, "The party got out of hand and I was a part of clean up."

"I'm just surprised that Belly came home before you did." Jack said, "Most of been some party for you to stay... even with clean up."

"Yeah... crazy party." She paused, "Well... I'm pretty tired. Think I'm gonna shower and head off to bed now."

She quickly made her way towards to the steps to prevent Robby from waiting any longer, but she didn't get very far.

"Aurora." Jack called.

She sighed, "Yes, dad?"

Jack turned back, looking over at Aurora, "Love you, kid."

She gave him a soft smile, stepping down from the steps, and made her way over towards the couch. She gently threw her arms over his shoulders and rested her head in the crook of his neck.

Jack held a soft smile, shutting his eyes for a moment, turning to place a small kiss on her cheek.

"Love you too." She muttered, "Goodnight."

"'Night, Rory."

She gave him one last squeeze before rushing upstairs.

If only Jack knew she was about to sneak a boy into her bedroom.

She quickly shut her bedroom door and heavily sighed. She made her way towards her window, sliding it opened and waved her hands to signal Robby to come on up.

He jogged towards the window, his duffle bag fastened onto his back as he climbed the tree to make his way inside.

Rory stuck her hand out for him to grab and he took it with ease. She help the boy inside and once he landed on his feet, she shut the window.

She rested her hands against the windowsill, lowering her head and closing the curtains.

She turned and found Robby looking up at her karate belts from Seaford.

"Um, I'm lucky enough to have a bathroom in my room, so you can get changed and shower in there."

"Thank you, Rory."

She gave him a small nod, making sure to tell him where the towels were and sat down on her bed as Robby made his way into the bathroom.

She fell backwards and rested her hands over her face and sighed. She had never snuck a boy into her room before. Let alone a guy she's know for two days.

Her parents would kill her if they ever found out, so, she could only hope they would never find him anywhere near or in the house.

Robby soon stepped out of the bathroom and Rory stepped in.

He sat down on the bed, fumbling with his thumbs. She was kind of enough to let him stay the night and he knew that. He would pay her back, but he didn't know how to do that just yet.

He had a lot going on at the moment and he just needed a moment to breath.

Soon, Rory stepped out of the bathroom. She was dressed in her clothes to sleep in and Robby stood from the bed.

"Sorry," She apologized, "I thought you'd be asleep."

Robby furrowed his brows, "Where was I supposed to sleep?"

"In the bed." She softly smiled, slightly confused, "I think we're mature enough to share a bed for the night."

She pulled another blanket out of her closet and tossed to towards him before grabbing another and sat on the right side of her bed.

She used the blanket to make a border between the two of them. She looked up and gestured for him to sit down on the other side.

"Just in case you feel uncomfortable." She smiled, "Just relax and get some sleep."

She turned her lamp off, the room quickly going dark. She turned to him once more and softly smiled.

"Goodnight, Robby."

She got comfortable on her side of the bed and turned over so her back was facing him.

"Goodnight, Rory."

He was thankful to have a place to sleep that night. She didn't have to let him stay and yet, she went out of her way to make him feel comfortable.

He was grateful.

Very fucking grateful.
