I originally was going to have Jay and Nya go on a date but the timing seemed weird and I needed to squeeze and so much more stuff before the big interview so I cut the scene. Hope you like it though!

A scene from Chapter two: part 9. Pride and Prejudice.

"Thanks for walking with me, Jay." Nya couldn't help but feel flattered as the brunette strolled quietly beside her.

Jay continued with her to her dorm and paused at the doorway, his hands twiddled nervously. Nya tilted her head and noticed how he hadn't made a move to leave.

"Do you need anything?" She asked him.

He opened his mouth to say something but no words came out. He ran a hand through his hair and swayed back and forth a moment. He swallowed and said something like: "what the heck" before opening his mouth again.

"Do-you-want-to-go-out-with-me?" Jay rushed out so quickly Nya almost missed it completely.

The girl blinked rapidly and stared at him in disbelief. "What?"

"Will... you go out with me?" He repeated, tentatively, his words were a lot less confident than they were before.

Nya wasn't sure what to say. She did have a crush on him, of course. Maybe a small little one. But she never really pictured ever acting on them, at least so soon. But as she saw his hopeful eyes something in her made her want to say YES!

Jay mistook her silence as a way of turning him down. "But you don't have to." Jay assuredly, panic-filled his gaze. "Especially if you and Lloyd-"

"Me and Lloyd?" Nya interrupted incredulously, a laugh escaping from her lips.

"The bracelets... and the talking," Jay said weakly, feeling himself turn red as she gave him a look.

"I'd love to go out with you, Jay," Nya said at last. Hesitating would do her no good. Sometimes it was good to take a risk. That was what Wu had been trying to teach her after all.

Jay's eyes were humongous and his mouth fell open. "Y-you would?"

Nya nodded. A goofy grin formed on his face as he backed away, accidentally slamming into the wall. He cursed and awkwardly righted himself, the childish joy still on his face.

"O-okay great! Um... would tomorrow work? Meet you outside after classes?" He stuttered.
