When They Met Again
special chapter ;
(a/n: this is pretty emotional try and handle it i guess)
a few months before 'end'.
(Miyun, are you free tonight? Are you busy?) Aoi, one of Miyun's closest friends' voice was slightly muffled by the distracting noise continuously being created by the people squeezing together in the streets.
"I don't know, but right now I have to take the bus to take me to the train home though. I will probably be home at 8. My afternoon class just ended.." Miyun solemnly said, her voice sightly becoming hoarse because of fatigue.
(No no, you don't have to come with us. I was having Rina over that's why. Are you okay? You seem really tired. Jimin, Rina and I can pick you up near the bus station. Just sit and wait for us ok?)
"No.." Miyun's voice was frail, "I don't want to bother you guys anymore. It's okay.."
(What the hell are you saying? We can't let that happen, the train will probably be packed and you will have to stand up. Jimin agrees so just stay there, okay? No buts.)
"Aoi please-" Aoi ended the call before she can contradict one last time. She then realized she was a few steps away from the bus station. Seeing the seat there empty, she sat there, relief flowing throughout her body as she muttered a small 'thank you' to her self.
Miyun has gotten weaker over the course of four years.
Nobody really noticed, but after her last heartbreak from high school, everything about her became duller. A repeating college routine was the only thing she majorly focused on.
She tried so hard after high-school to become what she wants in the future, an architect, to both become successful in life and to be able to mask her sadness. She would pretend to be happy in front of her friends most of the time, but little did she know that they have already been getting hints about her slowly increasing depression.
She kept a close eye on the road in front of her, watching if there's any children or elderly people who need help in crossing the road, which is what she usually does. When she didn't see any, she slowly drifted to sleep, without any taking notice of the people around her anymore.
Jimin, Aoi and Rina dropped by about twenty minutes afterwards, seeing the restless girl sleeping soundly on the bus station seat. Aoi eyed Jimin to carry Miyun inside, which he eventually follows and they later drove her to the former's home.
Unbeknownst to everyone in the car, a special someone from Miyun's past life in high school has entered the train she was about to enter earlier. Thus creating a missed opportunity of their gazes crossing paths.
(Hey! Dokkie told me that you're in Korea since last month. You never told me anything about it!) Ha-reun, his only Korean friend from overseas asked energetically.
"Yeah," he said sadly. "You never really try to keep updated about me."
(I'm busy.. are you staying there for good? Let me come with you, Teahyung!)
The ends of Taehyung's lips unknowingly curved upwards at the sound of the nickname, remembering the someone whom he was waiting for to see after all those years. "Teahyung.. huh?"
(Hey? I was asking something.)
Taehyung snapped back to his thoughts. "Yeah, yeah. My stepdad offered me a job here, and I need to see someone. I need to go now. I'm inside the train, Ha-reun."
(Okay. I'll just call you later, Taehyung. Love you!)
Taehyung ended the call afterwards, wishing she wouldn't say that ever again. He entered his old, refurnished home he lived in when he was in high school.

Miyun left Aoi's home after chanting thousands of sorry's towards Aoi and Jimin. Guilt crushed her deep inside for she wanted to become more responsible of herself. She left her friends sharing words to each other about how sad Miyun suddenly became.
While walking with her head down she suddenly came across someone's hard chest, causing a slight collision between the two parties.
"Hey, watch where you're going," the voice muttered deep and low, somewhat familiar in some sense. Miyun rolled her eyes up but instead saw a face almost completely obscured by the hat's shadow. She look back down.
"Sorry!" She said in a high-pitched tone spun her heel to run away the opposite direction, cheeks turning red in embarrassment for her clumsiness.
Little did both of them know, that each other was the one they were looking for. That guy happens to be Taehyung, who wore a hat just to visit Miyun's house and surprise her, but didn't know that he already bumped into the girl he's been wanting to meet.
But he didn't know that Miyun had already moved away from that house two years ago.
Miyun, on the other hand checked her watch frequently, realizing that her first class for today is still four hours a day. To pass time, she made the decision to visit her old house from high school. She memorized the address by heart, for it created so many memories with a special someone.
After arriving at the location, a smile appeared on her face as she first noticed the bench where Taehyung and her sat on as they waited for the new year to happen. A few minutes after her short yet nostalgic visit she saw the man again from earlier, thinking that it's probably the owner.
She was about to get on her senses and walk away but she decided to talk to the person, whose back was facing her.
"Excuse me.. I know this may be weird to ask but if you're the new owner I would like to ask if I can spend time on the bench for a while?" She reluctantly asked with her head down once again.
"Oh no-" the man was cut off.
"It's okay! It's okay if you say no I-was-just-wondering-but-it's-completely-fine-please-take-care-of-this-place-and-have-a-good-day!" She said in an uncatchable speed and once again hurriedly walked away until she was stopped by the man who suddenly realized who owns the high-pitched voice.
He half-ran towards her and called out the name he first thought of. "Lee Miyun?"
Miyun's feet immediately stopped on its tracks. The familiar voice finally pieced together a perfectly fitting answer. It was Kim Taehyung's- a voice unheard for years.
She spun around slowly and she couldn't believe her eyes. The boy stood quite a distance away from her.
"It's.. you, wow. You haven't changed at all," Taehyung lowly said in disbelief, trying to bottle inside the hidden emotions he kept for four years. He waited for the moment to see her again and he was full of glee. After all, she's still the girl whom he loved the most.
Miyun was frozen on the other hand, speechless. Burning desire circled around her heart, wanting to run to him and hug him tight and not let go. Tears glistened her eyes, both palms then covering her mouth in shock and in extreme happiness. Butterflies inside her stomach were alive once again, after years of yearning and waiting.
"I-I want to ask first, Miyun.. do you like someone? Are you married? I mean that would be weird to ask because you might have not finished school yet but it's possible.. Yet still, Are you in a relationship?" Taehyung asked while they remained their distance.
"N-no, you idiot! How can any of those happen when you aren't here!" Miyun began tearing up uncontrollably.
"I.. I want to make sure. Do you still love me, Lee Miyun?" Taehyung stammered in nervousness. She was the only one who remained in his mind all these years. But he wasn't sure if Miyun felt the same. "I.. still do, a lot."
Miyun nodded repeatedly.
Taehyung's heart jumped and a smile formed in his lips. He spread his arms out, wide enough to make Miyun lost inside his arms, drown inside his scent as if a spell were to be casted on her. Miyun didn't hesitate to run towards him, jump and wrap her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist while he supported her weight.
She closed her eyes and let the tears stream down her cheeks, laying her chin on his right shoulder as she circled her arms tightly around his neck.
"Did you miss me? I missed you so much, you know that?"
She pulled away to look at Taehyung in the eyes. "Can't you see how long I waited until we see each other again? I was willing to lose every bit of what makes myself me just to wait for you to bring me to life again. It was that much, Taehyung."
Taehyung's expression dropped in guilt. "I'm sorry baby, I swear I won't hurt you that way ever again. It was hard for me to reject it back then, but I realize that I'm the most selfsh between the two of us."
Miyun shook her head. "Please, don't, it's okay. I'm fine now. You've become more handsome and manly, Tae, and you look more confident. I like that."
Taehyung nodded. "While you've grown cuter after these years, but you feel the same," He leaned closer, making their noses touch, which surprised Miyun suddenly. She leaned closer too, and they both moved their noses side to side, their noses adorably moving past each other.
"Put me down.. Taehyung," Miyun chuckled.
Taehyung gently put the small girl now and wiped her tears. "Don't cry anymore, it makes me feel sad, I won't leave you anymore, okay?"
"Okay.." Miyun nodded while wiping her tears like a small child.
"Miyun-ah," Taehyung called as he looked fondly at her. "I want to tell you a secret.."
"W-what is it?"
"Back in high-school, I've already seen my future with you ever since we watched the sky together, at 11pm, waiting for the new year. And I realize now that, I want you to be mine. No hindrances, rejections, selfishness or whatsoever. Just you and me, together."
Miyun couldn't help but sob again at the quick release of emotions inside her head. "Please, yes."
Taehyung smiled, cupped both of her cheeks and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Thank you,"
Miyun's cheeks flushed at the sudden action. "But seriously though, isn't it supposed to be 'you and I' instead of 'you and me?'" Miyun chuckled as she teased.
Taehyung playfully poked her head, "Stop trying to correct me when I'm trying to be poetic, we haven't seen each other for ages and you still correct like what you used to do."
"Geez, I'm sorry, I was kidding," Miyun laughed again.
She looked up, her eyes lighting up as their gazes met once again. And from there they realized that the strong, electrical jolts they felt from their unbroken stare has already ignited a special connection between the two of them.
And nothing can take them apart ever again.
