Izuku woke up to a fiery burn lacing across his whole body, his very veins boiling.

The sun wasn't even up, if the lack of light in his room was any hint, so why the hell?

A broken gasp left the teen as he arched off the bed, fists tightening in his blanket and sheets. He broke out in a heavy sweat, stomach churning as a pain erupted from behind his eyes.

What the absolute hell was happening to him?!

Suddenly, the pain left.

Izuku felt a sob force its way out of his throat, his green eyes started watering as his muscles began to spasm.

Finally, his body calmed, and Izuku let out a sigh.

Sitting up with some effort, the boy looked around. There wasn't anything out of place, and now that whatever that was had passed, he didn't feel anything wrong with himself.

So, what in the world was that?

Lifting his hand to brush it through his hair, Izuku felt something brush the skin of his wrist falling to the side and onto his bed.

Looking down, Izuku felt his heart rate skyrocket when he saw the curled up body of a black widow highlighted by the moonlight from the window.

What . . ?

He leapt from his bed, rushing to his desk, grabbed a plastic baggy he would normal use for spare parts, and hurriedly scooped up the spider and closed the baggy.

Breathing hard, Izuku put the baggy on the desk.

Then his mind caught up with what had happened.

"Oh, o-oh god!" He whispered to himself, shaking his hands as he looked around for some hint about what to do.

"B-bite . . . Bite marks!" His voice was quiet, yet panicked as his brain tried to find what to do next, frantically looking down at the wrist the spider had been on.

Right there, an inch bellow his palm, sat a set of bite marks, pin-prick sized and colored by the dots of blood breaking through.

Izuku rushed over to his desk, opening his laptop then shakily sped through the password. He was about to look up what to do, taking a glance back at the spider.

That's when he noticed there was something . . . off.

The hourglass shape on her back, it was supposed to be red, right?

Then why was it green?

'Green Black Window Spiders', he searched, trying to understand what was going on. Nothing came up.

Of course.

'Can Black Widow Spiders be green?'

Nothing.

'Black Widow with a green hourglass.'

Nada.

'Green Black Widow Spiders.'

Nothing but photo-shopped nonsense.

Izuku sighed, collapsing forward so his head rest in his hands.

This wasn't going anywhere. Maybe he could do some research into biology at the library? That might help.

He couldn't really ask his mother for help, she'd die from worry. Plus, he didn't even know if it was really a Black Widow, the green on her back made it confusing.

Yawning, Izuku felt like every once of energy left him all at once. As if something had zapped him of all the panic he had been feeling, replacing it with the need to sleep. Izuku stumbled up from his desk, pushing the spider behind a few of his textbooks before collapsing on his bed.

He felt as if he had barely closed his eyes when his mother knocked on his door.

"Izuku, dear? Are you feeling alright, you are usually up by now, darling." Inko said through the door, the concern in her voice clear.

Izuku groaned as he sat up, mind foggy. "Come in." He rasped, throat tight as he felt his muscles strain.

Inko came in, green eyes wide as she shuffled over to her son and rest a hand on his forehead. "You're burning up! Izuku, are you alright?" His mother cupped his face, looking him over.

The boy held his mother's wrist, giving her a pained smile. "Just a little under the weather, I had a weird night's sleep. I can stay home and rest if you want me to." He would rather just brace himself and try and go to school, but his mother was nothing if not a worrier. He'd do pretty much anything to keep her happy and carefree.

"Please." His mother said, smiling down at him. "I'll make you some light food for later. Just heat some up when you feel like eating." She kissed his forehead, squeezing his face a little, as if hugging it. "I'm going to go to work now, call me if you need anything. I'll call the school on my way out." Another kiss to his forehead, then one to each cheek, and she smiled at him. "Now, rest, dear."

Inko walked out of the room, closing the door softly.

That left Izuku to his thoughts.

"Was last night . . ? " His voice trailed off, his wrist lifted in front of his eyes. "Guess not." The marks were faint, yet remained. The boy sat up, head groggy and muscles aching. "Better start researching at least." Izuku rubbed his eyes. "Ugh, I slept in my contacts again."

He ducked into the bathroom, slipping his contacts out then grabbing his glasses. The frames where a simple black color and circular in shape. They were fairly large, but Izuku liked them. He only wore contacts so that no one could break his glasses when they shoved him around.

Such was his life.

Sitting back down at his computer, Izuku started typing away.

A little over an hour later he was practically an expert at basic spider trivia, yet . . . There was nothing on anything that matched the spider that bit him.

The worst part, Izuku didn't have the equipment he would need to be able to do any experiments worth wild on the spider. Leaving him in the dark on what the hell he should do.

Though . . . Spiders did give Izuku a new idea.

Grabbing some paper and a pencil, the boy set out to sketch and formulate his newest idea.

Groaning, Izuku cracked his back after bending over the papers for a few hours. A grumble from his stomach made it painfully obvious he had forgotten to eat before sitting down to work.

Again.

Mumbling to himself all the chemicals he would need to get his hands on, he made his way into the kitchen to heat up whatever his mother had left for him.

As he pulled the container from the fridge it set off a chain reaction, knocking several things to the floor. Or, at least it would have, if Izuku hadn't caught them.

Huffing out a breath, he took stock of what he had just done.

Because right now, he was crouched down, several condiment bottles and a few containers balanced very precariously, and rather weirdly, on his arms and even one on his foot that had somehow come up in the air as he stood on one leg.

"What the hell?" He whispered, green eyes blowing wide as he slowly put everything back except the one he had wanted in the first place. "That was so weird."

Shaking his head, he tried to just move on.

Little did he know, it would get a lot weirder.
