Omegaverse (A/B/O)

A sudden illness had spread three years ago all throughout Japan that caused almost the entire population of Omegas to go extinct. There was no cure for the illness as no one knew exactly what it was or how to deal with it. There is speculation from older heroes that some villain must've done this to try and wipe Omegas out. So far, there is only a very small handful of Omegas left in Japan now......if you could even call it a handful.

Izuku Midoriya is one of these Omegas, and he happens to be one of the extremely rare male Omegas that are probably now extinct with him being the sole remaining one. He's a Pro Hero at the young age of 22, ranked Number Three to be exact, only behind Endeavor and Hawks and just above Dynamight and Shoto.

He's been a beacon ever since his debut, mostly when he reached Top 10 due to his Omega status and because he's the next Symbol Of Peace. People love him, people adore him, people look up to him. And he's happy and satisfied with his life of living his dream and saving those who need saving and fighting alongside his fellow heroes.

However, that all comes to a screeching halt when the Omega-killing illness started spreading. Every single one of his close friends, family, and even colleagues were frightful for him, they weren't ready to lose such a sweet, selfless, and young hero. And after trying his best to continue hero work despite the deathly danger and trying to keep his close ones reassured, Izuku is one of the lucky few who make it out of this alive.

And now, Izuku is seen on-duty with his full hero gear on, patrolling around the streets as he usually did as a hero. But with this illness now having gone through and ended, many people who were previously mates or related to an Omega were now bitter. They were bitter that their loved one wasn't one of the few who survived, and so, some of these people started taking it out on the survivors, Izuku being one of them since he was a hero that regularly showed his face.

"Why do you get to survive but not my mate of 50 years?!"

"How come my mother didn't survive but you did?!"

"Why were you one of the ones who survived?!"

Izuku faced those kinds of outbursts now and it tore apart his soul to know that despite being a hero, he nor anyone else couldn't save the other Omegas who perished from the illness. And now, these poor people who lost beloved family had to live without them while others, though is so few numbers, managed to survive despite no one knowing why they survived and no one else didn't.

It dampened Izuku's mood and made the weight on his shoulders feel heavier. And once again, he feels like he's powerless to do anything to help.
