The Next Afternoon - Ray's POV

Me and Shinso walk to the training room while he helps me with my math homework and I help him with his English homework. "So what's the new guy gonna be like?" I ask Shinso.

"He seemed nice in class, not to sure though, I didn't talk to him, I was supposed to be paired with him to show him around school, but he got called out of class early to fill out additional paperwork and what not." Shinso says to me as he fills in an answer.

"He's probably not gonna like me then." I say with a cringe.

"That's a lie, everyone likes you on the first impression." Shinso says to me.

"Bullshit, you didn't like me." I say and Shinso nods.

"True, but that's because you were being rude." Shinso says to me.

"I'm always rude." I say and Shinso shakes his head.

"Not recently, you've been nicer since going to therapy. You've stopped taking your anger out on others through your words unless you've been provoked first." Shinso says to me and I nod. "Your rude for waking me up in the morning though and forcing me to go running." Shinso adds and I smirk at that.

"It's for your own good. I bet you've noticed changes because of it, your dark bags under your eyes have decreased, now they look like you could hold a gallon of bleach, instead of a whole cow." I say to Shinso who nods.

"I sleep a lot better, which, fuck you for that, I was doing just fine." Shinso says to me. "The healthy food is disgusting by the way." Shinso says to me.

"But your body probably feels a lot less sluggish, right?" I ask and Shinso sighs heavily and nods. "Healthy food makes a happy body, your taste buds will grow to crave it, I eat junk food in the afternoons usually, but that's because my body usually works it off with how active I usually am. That's the only way I can eat the junk food I like." I say to Shinso.

"And you tell me not to eat junk food." Shinso says to me.

"We have different issues, I suffer from low blood sugar thanks to my quirk, you don't. Because my quirk deals with water, my body is mostly made of water, there's no room in my blood to have a normal blood sugar level, I would take insulin, but that's annoying and I hate needles, so I generally get my dosage of needed sugar in the afternoon, I have a natural sugar in the morning with my breakfast which get's me to the afternoon, and then I eat my more sugary foods that I work off until dinner where I eat another natural sugar and then I go to bed." I say and Shinso nods.

"That makes sense." Shinso says to me with a nod.

I nod and we get to the training room and Dad isn't here yet, so I sit down and continue with my homework and so does Shinso.

We work for about 20 minutes before Dad gets here with the new guy.

I finish writing the last answer before I put my homework away into my bag.

"Ray, stand up." Dad says to me.

"I'm working on it, I didn't want to do my homework later." I say as I get up and I turn to look at Dad and the new guy.

"I assume your cascade?" The new guy asks me.

I stare him up and down. "And I assume your lame?" I ask and Shinso coughs.

"That was rude." The guy says to me.

"Ray, you were unprovoked." Shinso says to me.

"He looks like the annoying type." I say to Shinso.

"Again, rude." The guy says to me.

"Ray, this is Nora's son, his name is Matthew." Dad says to me. "Like I mentioned last night, he will be joining us, therefore, when in this room, you have to be nice to him, I don't care if it's fake." Dad says to me.

I cringe at that.

"Your the patient that caused my mom so many issues." Matthew says to me as he stares me in the eyes.

I stare at him for a long moment. "I need a safe word for this shit." I say and Shinso pats my shoulder. "This is not what I signed up for." I say to Dad.

"Too bad." Dad says as he throws me a staff that I catch, easily. "Get over it, talk about your issues later." Dad says to me.

"I would rather not talk about my issues at all. It benefits people more." I say and I duck another staff that Shinso catches.

"That's not healthy though and then you back track into how you started here at UA, a angry teenager who hated everyone around her, except her brother." Dad says to me.

"But had I kept quiet, Nora would not have been in danger, I'd be a hell of a lot worse right now, true, but at least, she would not have been subjected to being hunted by the League of Villains." I say to Dad.

My phone starts buzzing like crazy, so I look at it to see Endeavor is calling me. I pick up the call as I hold the phone to my ear.

"When your available, come to the agency." Endeavor says to me.

"Your cringe." I say to Endeavor.

"What does that mean?" Endeavor asks me.

"Find a dictionary." I say to Endeavor and I hang up, tossing my phone onto my bag.

"Who was that?" Shinso asks me.

"Endeavor, I'm picking up my work study again, on top of these classes, and hopefully, if I find a therapist, therapy as well, I am going to be popping a blood vessel in stress here soon if things don't smooth out, I'm getting real sick of the League fucking things up for me right now." I say and Shinso pats my shoulder.

"You just called the number 1 hero, cringe, then told him to find a dictionary, therapy is the least of your issues." Shinso says to me.

"No, no, that's my major issue, Endeavor doesn't give a shit about my disrespect, he knows I respect him as a hero and a teacher, so he lets me get away with a lot." I say to Shinso. "And definitely not because I can kick his ass in a no casualty fight." I say and Shinso smirks.

"You can what?" Matthew asks me.

"I can do a lot of things. I find loopholes in everything." I say and Dad sighs. "Which is why I get away with a lot, right Dad?" I ask Dad.

"Your lucky Nezu favors you." Dad says to me.

"Principle Nezu enjoys our weekly teas." I say to Dad with a shrug.

"Why are you so powerful in this school?" Matthew asks me in shock.

"That's for me to know, and you to figure out." I say and I attack him with the staff to start off training.

"There she goes, I was wondering how this was gonna go." Shinso says to Dad.

"Just let her take her frustrations out in a 3 on 1 spar, go join Matthew." Dad says to Shinso.

I spar against Dad, Shinso and Matthew for 2 straight hours, before the three need a break.

"How?" Matthew asks shocked as I stand, perfectly fine.

"RAYYYYYYY!" I hear Mina yell as she runs down the halls.

"Oh dear god, please don't try to convince me to make a close group of friends, for the love of god, I don't want to go out in public and do fun things, please don't let it be about Katsu either. I'm scared." I say the last part to Shinso.

"She's your classmate, therefore your problem. Not mine." Shinso says to me.

Mina jumps on me. "You have no say in this matter, we are going to go make you friends." Mina says to me.

"Didn't I tell you to back off?" I ask Mina.

"Yes." Mina says to me.

"And what did I say about that issue?" I ask Mina.

Mina pouts. "Not to fix it because your a buzzkill." Mina says to me.

"I don't want a close group of friends Mina, now get down." I say to her.

Mina pouts. "No, you have to make me." Mina says to me.

I sigh as I look at the ceiling. "So it's looking like punishment pudding for desert for dinner tonight then?" I ask Mina and she gets down.

"NOOO! It tastes awful!" Mina cries worried.

I smirk. "That's the point." I say to Mina. "You and Denki haven't been doing well with homework or studying either, even though we're coming to an end of chapter test here soon in our classes." I say to Mina who sulks. "Go study, pick up a book, not my issues, I'll handle them myself." I say to Mina.

"Fine." Mina pouts and she leaves.

"Thank god I got out of that." I say relieved.

"You haven't studied either." Shinso says to me amused.

I look at Shinso. "Shush. I know the material already, I'll be ok if I don't study." I say to Shinso. "Just leaves more time to play video games, annoy my boyfriend, wallow in my drowning amounts of stress, and babysitting my cousins and my class apparently." I say to Shinso. "Which by the way Dad, we need a lock for the fridge, and a door with a lock for the kitchen." I say to Dad.

"Why?" Dad asks me.

"Denki and Mineta thought it would be a good idea to blow the fridge up yesterday to figure out how to do a combined attack while I was here, where I could not see them. And also, the amount of times I have yelled at them for blowing up the kitchen while I was busy, is an alarming amount of times." I say to Dad who sighs.

"I will talk to Nezu." Dad says to me.

"I can not take my eyes off this class, someone has to teach them common sense, or I might bash it into their heads one day. Because if my kitchen is blown up again, I will lose my shit." I say and Dad nods.

"Yeah, that's reasonable." Dad says to me with a sigh. "I will have a talk with them." Dad says to me.

"Good." I say to Dad.

My phone buzzes and I see Endeavor calling again, so I pick up my phone and answer the call.

"Any chance you can be here in the next hour? There's an issue." Endeavor says to me.

"Your giving me a good excuse out of being forced to be nice, I will be there." I say to Endeavor and I hang up. "There's an issue at the Endeavor agency, have fun here." I say to Dad and Shinso and Matthew.

"Uh huh, when you get back, there's a new therapist I want you to try to talk to." Dad says to me.

"If she's anything like Tina, I will probably end up leaving halfway through the session." I say to Dad.

"No, his name is Cameron, he's from America. He's a licensed therapist with a good background." Dad says to me.

"This'll be fun." I say sarcastically and Dad nods. "I'm going now, Shinso, I will text you a recipe dinner, make it, and eat it." I say to Shinso who grumbles.

"Can it have chicken?" Shinso asks me.

"That was gonna be included." I say and Shinso nods.

"Good cause I went food shopping for myself yesterday and bought chicken and was worried it was gonna go bad." Shinso says to me.

"You went food shopping without me?" I ask Shinso surprised.

"I've gone with you enough times to know what to do." Shinso says to me with a small huff.

I look at the time. "Ok, gotta go." I say and I grab my bag and my coat and I leave quickly.

I head to my dorm room and I change into a pair of skinny jeans with a gray tank top and Katsu's white coat.

I put my hair up into a pony tail and I grab my mask and my boots and my gloves.

I put on my boots and that's when Katsu comes in.

"Your done early, where are you going?" Katsu asks me.

"I'm continuing my work study with Endeavor." I say to Katsu who nods surprised.

I get up and I hug my boyfriend around the neck. "What's up?" I ask Katsu as he hugs me around my waist.

"I'm just worried about you, that's all." Katsu says to me quietly.

I kiss his cheek as I stand on my toes, Katsu then buries his face in my neck. "Is doing all this stuff, worrying to you?" I ask Katsu quietly.

"Yeah." Katsu whispers as he holds me tightly. "Are you sure you can handle all of this stuff?" Katsu asks me quietly.

I hum softly. "I like having a lot of things to do. It's ok. If it gets to be too much, then I'll drop something, but for now, I like having a busy schedule. It's comforting." I say and Katsu nods.

"As long as it benefits you." Katsu says to me. "And that there's time for me." Katsu continues.

I smile as Katsu raises his head to look at me with his forehead on mine. "There will always be time for you. I will always make time for you." I say to Katsu who smiles at that. "I have to get going now, but I will see you later, ok?" I ask him softer.

"Ok, go kick ass." Katsu says to me and I grin softly.

"I will." I say and I kiss him goodbye and then I step back. I grab my bag, my mask and my gloves and I leave.

I head to Endeavors Agency and I see a lot of pros. I walk to the center of the mass and I see Endeavor arguing with another pro.

"Uhm, chill the fuck out." I say and everyone stops to look at me.

"Cascade, you made it, thank god." Inferno says worried as she quickly walks over to me.

"I will always show up, just to ruin Combustions day." I say and Combustion scowls at me while I smirk, putting on my mask. "So can I ask, what's with all the drama?" I ask Inferno.

"Well, there's a villain, in your jurisdiction. The town of Kurashiki. The Mizukage Agency is currently shut down for the next two weeks, so the villains are running rampant. However, the pros are arguing on who is going to get that jurisdiction since no one is there right now and it's a major crime area." Inferno says worried.

"Oh." Is all I say to that. "Technically it's my mothers jurisdiction, I'm just babysitting until I can set up my own agency there after I graduate." I say to Inferno.

"Who is this kid?" A pro asks as he looks at me.

"Your problem if you call me a kid again. The names Cascade, I'm a student hero. I go to UA and I will make your life a living hell if you take my mothers city out from under my nose. Especially since you are a major gambler." I say to the Pro and everyone looks at him in shock.

"How do you know that?" He asks me.

"I didn't. You just look the type." I say to the pro. "Of course I would know the type, Randy's friends were gamblers." I say to him with a small shrug. "The look of someone with a loan shark after them, never leaves the eye, it's fear." I say to him as I put my hands in my pockets.

"Your perceptiveness got ten times keener." Inferno says worried.

"I've been stressed out recently. I've had to look at everything in six-thousand different ways so I don't fuck up and cause anyone any unnecessary problems." I say to Inferno, who nods surprised. "So, anyone else want to call me a kid and the proceed to get all their issues brought to light? Or are you gonna leave my city alone? The Endeavor Agency that I'm doing my work study with, get's the rights to the city when there are no hero's there. Back off bitches. Kurashiki's mine." I say to the pros.

"So vulgar. How are you gonna be a hero?" A pro asks me.

"Unlike you, I don't care about my appearance, I don't need the attention, unlike your needy ass." I say to him and he gasps in shock. "Your an attention whore and you need to lay off." I say to him. "Not everything needs to be about you, sometimes you need to put your attention into saving people instead of your looks." I say to him and he scowls at me. "I save people instead of checking my tongue, so shut up." I say to him. "Anyone else?" I ask.

"Nope, we're good." A pro says and everyone backs off and leaves.

"Thanks." Endeavor says to me.

"No problem." I say to him and I go with the Endeavor Agency to go take care of the villains in Kurashiki.

After the threat is neutralized, I get to go back to the dorms.
