"Silver, are you sure this is the best place to be hanging out at. It seems sort of...creepy," (y/n) said to Silver as he led her through Ilex Forest. He glanced back at her seeing that she didn't seem to be scared but she continuously watched her surroundings. "Don't worry. It's definitely safe here," Silver muttered as he continued onward into the forest. It was sort of dark since the trees had canopies so dense that there was hardly any sunlight passing through the treetops. There were also a number of wild pokémon freely roaming...wait a second.

"You aren't worried about the wild pokémon are you?" Silver asked. "What? No, of course not. It's just, I don't make good memories in dark forest or caves. Also Gold told me that something bad happened here and that there might be a special pokémon hidden in this particular forest. This is Ilex Forest isn't it? Me and special pokémon don't really mix," (y/n) ranted as she continuously looked around.

Silver suddenly felt like their positions had been reversed. He remembered himself being the same way when he'd first battled with (y/n). He had constantly been watching his surroundings, not afraid but most definitely cautious. "Sorry. I didn't know that you didn't like forests. This place is sort of...you know, the place I'd rather be," Silver muttered as he remembered what (y/n) had said to him back when they'd been at the Pokémon Center together.

He didn't know why but the memory was a nice one that he did want to let go of. He was beginning to find (y/n)'s presence anything but annoying which was unusual for him. It was just like when he used to be friends with Gold and Crystal. The only problem was that if he let (y/n) become his friend, would she leave him like they had? "What are you smiling about, huh?" (y/n) asked as she caught up to him and walked by his side.

"Huh? I wasn't..." Silver said but then he realized that he actually had been smiling. Upon this realization, Silver's eyes widened in surprise and he felt a strange sensation of happiness. He gave in to that happiness since it had been a while since he'd felt it. "I guess I was," he said. (Y/n) suddenly stopped in her tracks and stared at him. "What's wrong?" Silver asked. (Y/n) quickly shook her head at him.

"No, nothing's wrong. You...you did it again. Your smile is so precious!" (y/n) exclaimed as she also smiled. Silver felt his face heat up a bit and he turned away. "No it isn't. You're just seeing things," Silver muttered in embarrassment. He continued onward and (y/n) followed until he stopped at the only area in the forest where light made it though. He was still in the shaded area of the forest just outside of the light that shone through.

A single large tree sat in the center of the sunlit area. Silver was about to walk out into the lit area but he was suddenly pulled back by his sleeve. He looked back finding (y/n) staring at the mysterious tree with uncertainty. "It's there. The special pokémon is there. I can sense its feelings. Its scared. If you go out there while it's like that, it won't end very well," (y/n) said in a quieter voice than normal. "How do you know it's the special pokémon?" Silver asked although he didn't doubt (y/n)'s judgement.

"I've sensed the feelings of many pokémon. Special ones give of a certain aura. This one has the same aura as that other special pokémon that I met," (y/n) said as she stepped forward with her eyes focused on the tree as if she was in some sort of trance. "Hey, wait, you shouldn't go over there either," Silver said, finding it a bit odd for him to be so worried about someone else's well-being. "I'm going to calm it down," (y/n) said barely above a whisper as she kept her eyes on the tree and walked towards it and into the sunlight.

Silver watched as she carefully approached the tree for he was curious. He'd never met someone with an ability like (y/n)'s. "Reveal yourself. We mean you no harm," (y/n) said in a voice so soothing that Silver found himself entranced by it. As if it had been there all along, a pokémon that Silver had never seen before appeared, floating in front of (y/n). "See. We don't want to hurt you. Do you mind telling me your name?" (y/n) said. The pokémon seemed uncertain but then it seemed to smile a bit.

"Celebi. That's what it is huh. You don't like humans do you, Celebi. I can tell," (y/n) said as she slowly lifted a hand and began to reach out to touch Celebi. Silver watched as Celebi floated closer to (y/n)'s outstretched hand. (Y/n) smiled a bit as she pet Celebi but then she laughed and the sound seemed to startle the pokémon for Celebi suddenly jolted away from (y/n)'s touch. This wasn't the only thing to happen either. (Y/n)'s eyes suddenly faded of color which Silver thought to be terrifying.

"(Y/n)!" Silver called out as he rushed forward to catch her before she fell. He didn't think his actions through, not really caring if he scared Celebi away or if Celebi attacked him. He didn't want anything to happen to (y/n) especially since they hadn't become friends yet. "(Y/n), say something. Let me know that you're okay," Silver pleaded as he held her. There was no answer from her as her colorless eyes stared up at him unblinking.

"(Y/n), please. You have to be okay. You didn't even get to tell me your story yet," Silver said as he felt his eyes beginning to fill with tears. He was startled when Celebi managed to sneak up on him. He backed away along with (y/n), not wanting the pokémon to touch her anymore but Celebi was persistent. Silver allowed the pokémon near (y/n) and when Celebi touched her, the color returned to her eyes and she shot up from Silver's arms. Celebi fled, hiding behind the tree in the center of the light.

Upon seeing that (y/n) was okay, Silver closed his eyes, letting out a sigh of relief as a few of his built up tears escaped. He suddenly felt himself being pulled into a hug. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that. I didn't know Celebi would be that sensitive," (y/n) said. Silver simply relaxed in her hold. Something about her just kept him from wanting to push her away. Did it have anything to do with her special ability? Silver wouldn't know but he was guessing that it did.

"Don't do that again. I thought something had happened to you," Silver muttered. "Okay, I won't," (y/n) said. "No, you need to promise me that you'll never do anything like that even if it's to save me or something," Silver said. This way, he'd know that (y/n) wouldn't be lying. Promises were not to be broken. "I promise, Silver, that I will never do anything like that even if it's to save you or something," she said as she let him go, looking him strait in the eyes.

"This is also my fault. If I'd never brought us here, none of this would never have happened," Silver said as he stood. "Don't say that. You couldn't have predicted what was going to happen. The past is in the past now. By the way, where did Celebi run off to? I know I said special pokémon and I don't mix but Celebi needed my help. Its feelings, even while I was unable to move, I could still sense them. Under all of that fright there was warning. Something bad is about to happen in Johto," (y/n) said.

Silver didn't really want to think about something like that. "It's okay though. We can figure that out later. How about we go looking around some more. There are still pokémon in Johto that I've never seen before," (y/n) said. Silver nodded in agreeance and for the rest of the day, they leisurely explored Ilex Forest with their pokémon exploring right alongside them. Silver found himself enjoying it since he was able to tell (y/n) about certain pokémon thanks to the pokédex that he carried. (Y/n) had never seen one before and seemed so curious about it.

As the sun disappeared, they returned to the spot where the sky was viewable under the tree in the center of the forest. "This was fun, Silver," (y/n) said as she sat with her back to the tree. She seemed to be tired and about to go to sleep as she sat there. Silver sat a little ways away from her. "Yeah, it surprisingly was. It's been a while since I've been here with a friend," Silver muttered.

"So we're friends now huh. You still don't know about me you know. Are you sure you just want to become friends without knowing what my past is like," (y/n) sleepily said. "You still don't really know about me either. Besides, didn't you say that the past is in the past," Silver said. "Yeah...I did didn't I," (y/n) said. Silver looked over to find that she'd laid on the grass and was close to falling alseep.

Silver was immediately reminded of the many times Crystal and Gold had used Silver as a pillow against his will. Perhaps, since he and (y/n) were friends now, she'd like to do the same. Just as Silver had scooted closer to (y/n) and lay her head on his lap so that she could peacefully sleep, a strange light appeared. Silver saw that it was Celebi and the pokémon seemed to be saying something but Silver couldn't understand it. Just like that, the light and Celebi vanished, leaving Silver to wonder what had just happened. He dismissed the thought and eventually fell asleep too.
