Chapter 2
Sorry for the long ass wait, but heres ch. 2!! So someone informed me there was a new movie with damian and asked if I was going to write it into the series. I'm not going to write it. I watched the sneak peak and there seems to he heavy inplications of Damian x Raven being endgame. And seeing that this is a Damian x reader series, not sure how I would fit it into there. Ofc ill watch it and ill probably drop references in the last book but i have a plan that im going to stick to.

The steam in Y/n’s bathroom turned the tile walls misty and the mirror foggy. She used her hand to wipe away some of the substance so she could get ready. Her hand lingered on the warm mirror as she stared at the thick nasty scars on her wrist. She had taken off the wrap she used to cover them for her shower. Y/n tried to not pay attention to them so she hadn’t noticed how - while the size and thickness remained the same - the color of her scarred skin had lightened. It now resembled her natural color, the pigment slightly off. Y/n sighed and held her arm to her bare chest, wishing there was a way to remove the damage. Perhaps a tattoo.
Y/n chuckled at the thought. Oliver would like it, although Felicity would become frazzled at her eldest daughter having a tattoo. William would enjoy it, he had thought about getting one. Y/n couldn’t imagine little Mia getting not liking a tattoo. After all, she was a baby and babies tended to like colorful things.
Opening the door to her bedroom, the heat leaked into the open space. Y/n picked out her outfit, dropped her towel and changed. Cleaning up whatever mess she made, Y/n sat on her bed and picked up the brush she kept on her nightstand. Beside it was a picture of her and Damian. They were sitting in the Batcave, resting from their workout/sparring session. Damian thought it would be a good idea for a date (considering they took great pride in their work and afterwards they would have the entire Wayne Manor to themselves. More specifically the theatre). Alfred had prepared sandwiches for the lovebirds. Damian got his favorite vegetarian sandwich and Y/n ate her (favorite sandwich). She remembered Damian unintentionally telling a hilarious joke which caused her to throw her head back and laugh till her sides hurt. When her laughter died down she brushed Damian’s cape away - the two were in their uniforms but took off their mask for food - and rested her head on his shoulder. He set down his food and wrapped his arm around her back, the two started chattering about something long forgotten.
Alfred was cleaning somewhere in the Cave when he saw the small gesture: Damian moving his thumb in a soothing manner on her shoulder. The image made his old heart squeeze, he had to capture it forever. He swiftly took out his phone and snapped the picture. The next morning, Y/n woke to a text from the butler, it was the photo and she just had to print two copies. She gave one to Damian, who stated it was cheesy for her to do and rude of Pennyworth to spy, but the next time she was in his room, the framed image was on his nightstand.
Setting the frame down, Y/n sighed. She needed insight, wise words that would help her situation. But right now, she needed food. The Titans had ordered pizza, hopefully it wasn’t gone. Quickly opening the small drawer she used the linen to wrap her wrist and left.
Moving to the kitchen she caught Jaime and Garfield rough housing, the latter getting a noogie.
“Hey, Y/n!” Gar spoke, shoving Jaime away to fix his hair. “Monkey kisses are cute right?”
Y/n opened the pizza box on the counter, it was empty. She grumbled and looked to answer the green teen. “I once saw on a documentary, a monkey drinking its mother’s urine.” Y/n gave him a sly smirk, “Does that answer your question?”
Both of the boys had disgusted faces, Jaime muttering in Spanish what the hell she watches. Y/n smirked and told him she was able to uncover his internet history easily in the same language. Jaime stuttered an apology and left the room.
Switching over to her next task, Y/n went to find Richard. It didn’t take long, he was in the computer lab, uncovering and going over data involving Brother Blood. Blood was the leader of H.I.V.E. and would stop at nothing to see his cult’s success. Dick had been studying him for months before he rejoined the Titans.
Y/n walked into the dark room, the only source of light were the various sizes of screens at the center of the back wall. She leaned against the desk, resting her palms against the metal, waiting for her best friend to finish typing.
Dick tapped the last key and swiveled his chair to face the girl. “What’s up?”
“I need advice,” Y/n crossed her arms and lowered her gaze. He had a slice of pizza on a paper plate. She took it and took a bite. She made a face… it was cold. Putting the slice back onto its plate Y/n began, “I assume you know about me and Damian fighting.” He nodded. Y/n sighed, “He keeps leaving at night, and everytime I ask him not to, or at least talk to me about it.”
“He doesn’t?” Dick caught on.
Y/n pushed herself off of the desk and paced in a small oval. “No he doesn’t! It’s not as if I’m ordering him to stop, I understand what he’s doing. But he never updates me about it or tells me where he’s going. I mean, what if he ends up dead in a ditch? What then?”
Dick started to talk but Y/n kept going. “And every single time I bring it up, he either avoids the question or yells at me. And then no matter what, he pulls back. He...he doesn’t let me in.” Y/n huffed sadly. She returned to her stop before with a solemn face. “I thought when we started dating he would open up more, and at first he did. But then we started having these little arguments. Now every step forward is five steps back.” Y/n blinked back the tears, she couldn’t cry right now. “I love him so much, Richard. I don’t want him to change, I just want him to understand.” She looked down. “I’m not sure if he ever will.”
Dick looked at her, he hated it when she was in pain. Of course he did not want to take a side, since he hadn’t heard Damian’s, but it seemed like the boy needed a good slap to the face.
“I’m sure Damian doesn’t mean to hurt you. He can be an idiot.” Dick watched Y/n as she bit her lip in thought. “Something else is on your mind.” She knew it wasn’t a question.
“I was only supposed to be at the Titans for a year, to give me some social skills. Damian is the only reason I stayed. But, recently, I’m not sure I made the right choice.”
“You’re leaving the team?”
Y/n sighed, her brain was full of confusion. “Cardinal was born so I had a place among the Titans. I hung up the cape as soon as I moved to Star City. I didn’t want to do this anymore,” she gestured to the screens. “I’m so sick of the fighting and the constant worry. If Damian and I keep fighting over simple things, it makes me wonder if we’re even worth fighting for. And I know it’s an awful thought because I love him, Richard. I’m in love with him. I’m pretty sure I always have been. But maybe we want different things.”
Dick got up from his chair and pulled the shorted girl into a hug. She wrapped her arms around his torso, taking in his smell. He must have switched colognes. Whatever it was it drowned out the smell of sweat from the training he did today. She only wished there was a way to drown out her problems with a simple perfume change.
