What did Y/n mean? She couldn't feel her legs? If she can't move then she can't fight and if she is unable to defend herself...

"What the hell did you do?!" Robin yelled at Brother Blood, who looked uninterested in the Titans' pain and more focused on Deathstroke trying to leave the ceremony.

Blood moved near the machine, hands neatly placed at his side. He eyed Robin who was looking at Cardinal. The girl was trying to keep her breathing steady, yanking on her restraints as she failed to free herself. It suddenly clicked what Robin was referring to.

"Ah yes. We learned about your," Brother Blood looked at Cardinal's legs. "Complications. I'm afraid the machine drained the power from your little implant. Though I must say, as the true God, you'll have no need for walking anymore." Somehow it felt as though the machine increased their pain tenfold. He gave the team no second thought and returned to the front of the stage. "Hail me, brethren, for the moment of ascendancy has arrived." The crowd chanted as Blood walked to the red light at the center of the machine, absorbing the stolen powers from the Titans'.

Then suddenly, Nightwing appeared, removing his disguise and attacking the crowd, making his way to Brother Blood. The crowd scurried away from the fight, shouting prayers and chants. After moving past Mayhem, Nightwing flung a batarang above Blood's head, blowing the machine up and freeing the Titans'.

Robin fell out first, pushing himself off the machine to be there in time to catch Cardinal. As the others regained consciousness and went off to fight alongside Nightwing, Cardinal fell into Robin's arms. She shook her head to force herself to wake up before taking in a breath.

"Can you walk?"

Cardinal tried to move her legs. She shook her head. He moved her behind a large piece of debris to cover her from the fight.

"We'll fix it later. If Blood cutting its power out is the reason you can't walk then we can force him to turn it on or I'll get you to Felicity and she'll fix it. Right now you have to stay hidden, find an exit and go."

"You guys need me, I can still shoot."

"No! Y/n you need to leave! You'll be no help if you're dead!" Robin shouted, looking back to make sure the fight was away from them. "You need to leave and go get help, we don't know what happens to you if the implant is turned off for long periods of time!" He began to leave but his girlfriend called out.

"I don't care that I can't walk, I figured this was going to happen sooner or later! Let me help while I still can!"

Robin stopped and turned around to face her, eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean you 'figured this was going to happen'? Y/n, what aren't you telling me?"

Cardinal's throat felt like it was closing. She looked past Robin to see her friends fighting what looked like a giant hybrid Brother Blood. He looked like a demon and she needed to be there to help but here she was sitting down and wasting both her and Damian's time.

Deciding to get it over with, Cardinal spoke, avoiding Robin's gaze. "I've been losing feeling in my legs for a long time. The episodes have been on and off for a while so... so I don't think fixing the implant will help me either way." She took her mask off to wipe her eyes and looked up at Damian from the floor. "I don't think I'm going to walk again." Robin crouched down and wrapped his arms around her. "But I refuse to be helpless."

Robin pressed a kiss to her forehead (only because they were hidden away from everyone) and placed her mask back on her nose bridge. He placed something into her hand and stood up. "Drink it. Please."

Cardinal was puzzled but before she could ask him, Robin was already gone. She looked at the vial in her hand and inspected it. It was a green liquid in a glass vial capped with a cork that looked like it was meant for testing. She swirled it and the liquid came to life, it shone a bright neon green that instantly made her aware of what it was. Lazarus water. Damian had given her Lazarus water.

How did he have this? Why did he have this?

No. There has to be another way for her to fight. Just for a little bit longer. Shoving the vial into her utility belt, Cardinal slumped against the debris and looked around for help. The implant runs on electricity - Felicity had given her a quick lesson on the basics of the implant as she had gotten older and updated the models, how it worked and such - and from her understanding things like EMPs would make it go out. So she needed to run a bunch of electricity through it.

"This is the worst idea I have ever had," she muttered to herself. Cardinal hoisted herself onto the debris and called out for Nightwing. It only took a few moments for him to run over, asking what was wrong. "Give me one of your batons, I don't have any arrows," she partially lied. He nodded and tossed her one of his batons then rejoined the fight.

Cardinal took a few deep breaths and charged the baton, it buzzed with life as on end crackled with electricity. All she had to do was basically jump start the device because her body was not conducting enough electricity. Cardinal took off her hood and put some of the fabric into her mouth, she sat forward and positioned the baton over the base of her spine.

This is a bad idea.

She shut her eyes and pushed the weapon onto her back, instantly shocking her. A scream caught in the back of her throat but Cardinal forced it to be quiet. Taking a break she tried to move her legs but nothing. Why wasn't this working? She was charging the device and it should work.

Y/n scratched at her neck and groaned. She could hear her teammates fighting a battle, a battle that she should be at their side for. If only her stupid spinal cord would work-

Oh.

Cardinal moved the baton to the nape of her neck, near the start of her spinal cord. She jammed it onto her neck and screamed, jolting with pain as she let go of the baton. Her knees banged against the ground and she felt the rocks dig into her skin.

It worked and now she needed to go help. She gripped onto the debris around her and pulled herself up. Robin and Nightwing were fighting against Deathstroke while the rest of the Titans were getting their asses kicked by the monster that was Blood. Someone was missing. Y/n scanned the room and found Terra shrieking while speeding towards Slade while on a giant rock. As Terra got closer she lifted the ground and Y/n found herself on one of the chunks of ground that was lifted into the air.

"Terra! Stop!"

Terra glared at Cardinal with a fiery rage and seethed, "You!" She hurled the rock that Cardinal was on across the distance causing Y/n to be knocked off and falling with a shout.

Before she was splattered onto the ground, a pair of arms wrapped around Cardinal and lifted her up.

She looked up at the person who caught her, "Thanks, Beetle." Blue Beetle nodded and held onto her tight. "Terra's going to bring this whole place down to kill Slade."

"One less thing to worry about," Beetle put Cardinal down. He looked her over before stepping back. "Uh, Cardinal?" He pointed at her thigh where a piece of rock was stabbed through her outer thigh.

She looked down and raised her eyebrows. "I'll... deal with that later." A scream tore their attention away. "You go finish off Blood, I'll get Terra." Beetle nodded and flew away as Cardinal ran in the opposite direction. She glanced at her thigh and grimaced. Suddenly the ground she was standing on was flown into the air - again - and stacked onto the wall that separated Terra's fight from the Titans'.

Terra and Slade were attacking each other. He sliced through the boulders she flung at him and he shot at her, turning Terra's attention elsewhere.

"Terra, watch out!" Cardinal yelled and quickly readied the spare crossbow she kept in her boot compartment.

She fired two arrows at Slade, slicing the side of his neck. He growled and aimed his gun at Cardinal but was hit by a rock, flinging him away. Terra crushed him. He wasn't coming back this time. Terra screamed as tears poured down her face and made everything shake.

"Terra!" Y/n called out. Terra weakly glared at her. "Terra, I didn't mean to," she was cut off as the rock she was on began to take her away. "Wait! Terra, no!"

The rock took her to the exit where most of the Titans were waiting. Robin helped her off the rock and looked her over, his eyes widened at her injury.

She tiredly rested her head on his shoulder. "I can't feel it."

Before Damian could respond, Beast Boy was flown in by another rock. Nightwing and Blue Beetle had to pull him away from going back to save Terra. His screams burned in Y/n's ears. Robin helped her climb onto his back and the team ran away from the collapsing building.
