HP

It was the hour of twilight, the full moon shone through stretched out clouds, illuminating the rocky ground below. The air was filled with the scent of dirt and gravel, most likely due to the substance under the Titans' feet. They were on a mission, to take over a H.I.V.E. base. The team had been tracking the cult for a long time. By removing any members from this area, their steps to victory were gaining closer.

Starfire and Nightwing struck first, attacking two guards as they patrolled their designated spot on their hovercrafts. Once the couple finished, the alien woman bent her arm at a ninety-degree angle, a green flamed danced on her hand, signaling the rest of the team they should move forward.

Blue Beetle announced they were ready for those who were not paying attention. Mainly for Beast Boy, who was entranced with his phone, updating his social media. Robin grumbled about the two being slow and went to meet with the team. The green teen complained about not having enough time to answer a post.

Nightwing, who updated his costume: switching his iconic blue symbol with red, looked up the side of the mountain. "It's a tough climb, especially in this moonlight," he squinted in thought. Starfire tried to get his attention. "They're bound to spot us," he kept going. Once again the leader tried and failed to cut him off. "If we wait for those clouds -"

"Dick!"

He looked at the woman and questioned her. Starfire nodded to the newest member of the Titans, "Terra's taking us up there." Nightwing raised an eyebrow and questioned her again.

"Yeah," the short-haired blonde started. "I do all the dirty work around here." She walked over to a different side of the mountain and extended her glowing hands. She separated the rocks, they rumbled under her control. A doorway was created. "Going up."

The group entered the makeshift elevator and Terra closed the door then proceeded to make the ground go up. The team had to steady themselves so they wouldn't fall down at the sudden movement. Starfire used her flame once more to light up the room.

The only sound was the surrounding rocks grinding against each other when Jaime's Scarab made noises. Beetle said the bug wasn't feeling great about their current situation. Raven agreed. The cloaked demon asked Beast Boy why he was calm, to which he responded that he could transform into a gopher.

As Terra struggled to keep the Titans moving, a piece of the earth from above hit the Scarab causing it to get frightened or angry or nervous. One of the above. It moved its tentacle, attempting to strike Raven and Beast Boy but failing.

"Scarab, stop!" Beetle shouted.

Robin growled and began to unsheathe his sword, "Control that thing, Beetle. Or I'll control it for you."

Cardinal rolled her eyes, and pulled on her boyfriend's shoulder, "Knock it off, Robin. It's not his fault." Robin looked and her and she returned it back. Robin put away his katana.

Nightwing explained how instead of bickering with each other, the team should focus on the enemy above. He told them how different these people were. How they would easily sacrifice themselves to get to each of them. For a second, the elevator shook, and the team looked at Terra. Starfire questioned if she could continue.

"Yeah," the girl scoffed, "If you'd all shut up."

Cardinal rolled her eyes as the ride stopped. Terra rested her hands on her bare knees, informing the group they were six inches underground. Starfire took it upon herself to knock.

A hole was blasted from the floor, out flew Starfire, shooting her beams at the soldiers, "Titans, go!"

Beast Boy emerged as a hawk then quickly turned himself into a rhino, charging at a small cluster of bad guys. Blue Beetle, Robin, and Cardinal jumped out to fight the first yellow suited men they saw. Raven carried Nightwing out by the hand, he let go and landed in a summersault, prepared to fight. The last one out was Terra, who rampaged against any enemy she laid her eyes on.

The group took down the H.I.V.E. members quickly, dodging their attacks and shots while at the same time defending themselves and others if need be. Once they were finished with the batch of criminals, Robin noted how they had upgraded their defensive moves.

"They prepared well," Robin huffed as he stood from his landing. "Their reaction time is much better."

"Robin, stop complimenting the bad guys," Nightwing scolded.

Cardinal crossed her arms. "He's right though," she defended her boyfriend. "We need to be ready for anything."

As the final word left her mouth, a large metal door opened revealing three large yellow mech suits. Beast Boy joked how they must have bought their "bad guy stuff" in bulk. The team took cover, Starfire and Nightwing behind some crates and the others behind an oversized shelf. Soon, Starfire grabbed a hold of Nightwing's hand, throwing him at one of the mechs. The jet haired man took out the driver quickly. He used the gun to take out the second mech. The younger members of the team sliced through the last, bringing it down with a final bang. Raven used a large purple spirit raven to take care of two men who were shooting at them from above.

When the team moved forward to fight more villains, the Scarab lodged in Jaime's spine lost control for a second, sending beams at his teammates.

"Watch it, those are my friends!" Beetle shouted over the fight.

Robin barked in annoyance, "At least act you're trying to keep your parasite in line, Beetle."

Blue Beetle sent the shorter teen a glare, "Just because you're not getting any with Y/n, doesn't mean you have to be an ass to the rest of us."

Cardinal heard their little squabble and decided to intervene. She ran from her position beside Terra, jumped onto a soldier and knocked him out before pushing herself off of him and flipping to the two boys. Sure she was showing off, but it was the fastest way to get their attention.

"Would you two stop behaving like children?" Cardinal placed her hand on her hip as she eyed both. Hearing something behind her, Cardinal readied her bow and shot an arrow into her enemy's left shoulder. He'd live. "We have work to do." She walked past Robin, not giving him a second glance, still upset from a disagreement they had the night before. Soon enough, the battle was over, and the Titans had taken over the base.

Everyone met into the small communication tower where Nightwing and Star were. Cardinal chuckled since he was interrupted by the team's sudden appearance. She took her place by Robin's side but not as close as she'd normally be.

Nightwing sighed and continued to talk to Starfire. He told her he had gotten an apartment in Jump City, and that he would like her to move in with him, to take the next step in their relationship. He took out a small box and gave it to his girlfriend. She opened it to reveal a key - more likely than not to their new home - and smiled. Starfire said she would and practically jumped Nightwing, engulfing him in a hug which he gladly returned.

Cardinal smiled at her friend's success and let her shoulders relax. The happy feeling soon ended when she felt Robin's eyes on her. Of course, he wasn't staring directly at her life a creep, he kept it subtle, just wanting to see her reaction to the scene in front of them. The teen furrowed her eyebrows and looked away from him, not wanting to remember the talk they had the night prior. Well, she wouldn't call it a "talk" per se because it was mainly yelling.
