TAKE XI.

    Thirty minutes later, we arrived at Akashi’s mansion and hell it was so beautiful I can’t believe something like this do exist. I walked through the stunning timber and glass entrance and entered the first floor open living and kitchen area. The huge marble kitchen with island bench has state of the art appliances including a double french door fridge, 2 dishwashers, an oversized induction cooktop, a double-sized oven, a microwave oven and a built in coffee machine.

    A butler and a maid greeted us politely. “Okaerinasai, Seijuro-sama.” They said in chorus.

    Akashi nodded. “Niji and Sora, I expect you to explain all the features in this place so she won’t get lost. I’ll wait upstairs.” he said and brought his own bags upstairs.

    “The kitchen has a separate walk-in pantry and butlers’ kitchen with its own dishwasher and sink to keep the mess out of view and gives you the ultimate space. Moving on to the dining room, it boasts a 3 meter long solid timber table big enough for 12 to feast at, with beautiful designer timber chandeliers hanging overhead. While sitting at the dining table you have views out to the ocean.” The butler, Niji, explained.

   “There’s also the lounge room. The lounge room is a huge 8 meter lounge which seats 12, and a coffee table. The lounge has views out to the ocean and cliffs beyond. On the first floor there is another lounge area with a luxurious King Lounge Suite. This lounge faces the huge 2 meter open fireplace and built in plasma screen. This lounge has views of the eastern ocean cliffs and ocean. This entertainment center has full foxtel including all movie channels, DVD player and a computer which connects to the TV.” The maid, Sora, cut in.

    “Wow, I think only first floor is enough.” I commented.

    Sora just smiled. “The first floor has its own designer bathroom with floor to ceiling Italian travertine tiles, freestanding sink and rain shower.” She added.

    “Let’s move to the second floor, Akihiko-sama.” Niji said and led me upstairs. I gaped.

    “On the second floor is a rumpus room which has breathtaking views of endless ocean to the east, west and north. It connects straight to the pool area and outdoor entertaining kitchen. The rumpus room has its own leather lounge, arm chairs, plasma TV which features DVD player, VHS player, WII, Playstation and video games including games accessories such as the action pack for tennis, golf, fishing, car racing and so on. Usually, Akashi-sama would spend time in this room.” Niji said and chuckled at the thought.

    I held my laugh. “Akashi plays game too? Hah! I thought he’s such a strict person!”

    “He wasn’t before his mother died. Before Nanami-sama died, she often played with Seijuro-sama here.” Sora said. I nodded.

    “The main bedroom is extremely luxurious and spacious, with a King Bed and top of the line mattress it is the ultimate in comfort. While lying in bed you have view out to the ocean and can hear the waves crashing. There is a huge wall mounted plasma screen which has full foxtel including all movie channels and DVD player. The main bedroom boasts its own 1 meter long fireplace for romantic nights in.It also has its own massive walk-in wardrobe and dressing room. The main bedroom has a toilet, sink and huge shower.All bathrooms are floor to ceiling tiled in Italian Travertine with marble bench tops and dark timber vanities.” Niji continued.

    “This will be your room, Akihiko-sama,” Sora gestured towards a luxurious room. “The queen bedroom is decorated in beautiful tones with unique antique pieces and original art. It is a king sized bedroom with an amazing queen bed and mattress. With its own wardrobe, plasma screen with DVD – you would think this was the master suite! It also has its own door leading outside.”

    “Wow, this is my room? Th-that’s too.... uh, fancy..?”

    “Rest assure, because Seijuro-sama’s room are much fancier than this,” Niji said then pointed to the room opposite ‘mine’, with the door closed. “That’s his room. The king bedroom is decorated in shades of pale blue and grey, this bedroom is also huge and king sized, with a king sized bed, its own built in wardrobe, plasma screen TV and DVD. This rooms faces onto the pool courtyard and gets the beautiful north facing sun.”

    “Wow.... he’s like a king.” I said.

    “Seijuro-sama often comes here because of his shougi competition.” Sora said.

    We walked further. “There is a full laundry room with washer, dryer, ironing facilities and separate toilet.” Niji pointed.

    Sora added, “There’s an indoor steam room. The perfect place to relax and unwind any tensions. With beautiful Italian tiles through you will be addicted to a quick steam at the end of the day.”

    I nodded in understanding, admiring the view. And then we arrived at the pool. “The pool is tiled in natural stone from Bali, and surrounding by a beautiful deck and glass fence. With hanging masks imported from Bali and surrounding the pool, and the 3 meter high waterfall wall cascading into the pool, views of the ocean from the pool to the east and views of beautiful trees and gardens behind you - you will think you are a world away. The whole pool area and courtyard lights up at night for a real relaxed and fun atmosphere.” Niji said.

    Next to the pool is a grassed and tiled courtyard with a timber bench and cushions to lounge in the sun. In the pool courtyard is an outdoor kitchen with a built-in BBQ, bar fridge, meat cooler, wok burner, grill, and rotisserie and casserole cooker.

    On the roof level, there is a huge grassed garden with beautiful mature trees, hanging lanterns, hidden fairy lights and more gardens treasures. There is a built in seating area with cushions and a hanging hammock to chill and read or sleep! There is a wooden deck that backs onto the courtyard and a whole level of more entertaining and living space.There is a huge front timber decks with tables and chairs which has sweeping ocean views – the perfect place for complete privacy and all over sun-tanning!

    I smiled. This is like heaven. The roof level also has a gym and there is a third lounge and chill area with books, coffee table, board games, plasma TV and DVD player.

    “The roof bedroom has another bedroom which also sleeps 2. As with all other rooms, it is private, luxurious and you can’t hear a peep from the rest for the house as you relax in this room.” Sora said.

    “Wow, this house is.... a palace!” I exclaimed.

    “Let’s go outside. We’ll see what’s there.” Niji said.

    “Probably a waterfall.” I joked. They laughed and we went outside. Outside, there’s an open basketball court with a few balls stuffed in a container.

    “Seijuro-sama liked basketball since small. Since her mother was a basketball manager, she taught him about basketball. I still remember 9 years ago, the whole family played together with Nanami-sama teaming with Shusei-sama against Seijuro-sama. They got a tie and went out for minor celebration. It was truly a sweet scene at that time. Wish they’d gather together again....” Sora smiled.

    “A happy....family, huh.” I said and stared at the court.

    “Seijuro-sama was depressed when Nanami-sama died. Shusei-sama became stricter and Seijuro-sama was bound to the rules. Since then, Seijuro-sama became like that.” Niji said.

    “I see....”

    “What about you, Akihiko-sama? How’s your parents? I heard from Seijuro-sama that you lived here since years ago.” Sora tried to enlighten the mood.

    I dropped my gaze to my feet and chuckled. “Yeah, I’m from Port Macquarie. My parents.... they’re doing well I guess,” I said and gazed at the sky. “....In heaven.” I smiled.

    “Oh.... I’m sorry for intruding your privacy,” Niji and Sora bowed together.

    I turned to them. “No, no. It’s okay! I mean, that was long ago. I’m happy now.” I said quickly.

    “Sora, prepare dinner will you?” a voice said and it’s Akashi. I searched for him but I can’t see him.

    Sora and Niji rushed into the house. I was still looking around. Where the heck is him—

    “Up here.”

    I looked up and found Akashi leaning against the windowpane, looking down at me. I narrowed my eyes and went closer to his bedroom window. He was wearing plain white t-shirt and his locks are messy.

    “Don’t tell me each country has this kind of mansion.” I said, almost shouting because of the distance.

    He chuckled. “What if it’s a yes?”

    I giggled. “Rich as hell!” and ran inside. Niji and Sora had already started cooking. An hour later, Akashi and I were sitting on the dining table ready to eat. I called Niji and Sora over, ignoring the glare Akashi gave.

    “The more the merrier!” I said and rolled my eyes at Akashi.

    “But eating with Seijuro-sama.... we never did—“

    “Don’t mind him. He’s hard-headed and stubborn.” I blurted out. When I realized what I’ve said, I turned my head to Akashi. He was staring at me with the most dangerous eyes ever, I thought I’d die.

    “Okay! Okay! I’m sorry!” I quickly apologized. “Sorry! I was just kidding!”

    “Eat your meal silently.” He said.

    I pouted.

    “I’ll be leaving at 8 tomorrow morning, I expect you to sit here quietly and don’t go anywhere.” He said.

    “Why can’t I?”

    “Don’t ask.”

    “Ugh!”
