Ingenuity (pronounced in-jeh-new-ih-tee) is actually a pretty useful word in my opinion. It's a noun that means "the quality of being clever, original, and inventive." Some synonyms include inventiveness, creativity, imagination, and originality.

The adjective form of ingenuity is ingenious, and dictionary.com defines it as "possessing or done with ingenuity" or "skillful or clever." Google gives it the main meaning "(of a person) clever, original, and inventive" with the sub meaning "(of a machine or idea) cleverly and originally devised and well suited to its purpose." Also according to Google, it's pronounced in-genius, not to be confused with ingenuous (pronounced in-gen/jen-you-us), which I'll address later.
