In the afternoon, they met up as planned. The black and white haired man arrived at Tiny Orbit and was greeted by solemn faces.
"Now that everyone's here," Kirito began. "I'd like to just point out the fact that anything they do is basically a trap."
"Yeah, that's pretty clear to us, Kirito." Niara said, rolling her eyes.
The blonde clicked his tongue in response. "It was a necessary reminder." He pulled up a map on screen. "Recognize this?"
"A map of Country A?" Takeru blinked in confusion.
Ban nodded. "We traced a signal from the broadcast earlier. It led all the way to Country A."
"But the exact location is pretty hard to pin point." Hiro muttered. "We checked through the landmarks that us Seekers had gone to, but none of them had any leads."
Haruki took a closer look at the map. "It's as if the entire country itself is a beacon that's emitting the waves."
"You kids wouldn't know any military tricks for this kind of thing, would you?" Kazuya asked, only half joking.
The students turned to each other, before those formerly from Rossius stepped forward. The seven of them scanned over the computers in the room and nodded, immediately understanding their roles without needing to communicate to each other.
"Muraku." Nikolai called. "On your command."
"Right." He took a deep breath. "The aim is to pin point, or at least narrow down, the enemy's location. We've got this map as a guide. Kirito-san had shown us the landmarks that the Seekers had gone to. These are our only leads." He nodded to the other six. "We have more than what we needed. Disperse!"
"Roger!"
They immediately got into groups. Kageto and Hannah worked on the computer beside Kirito's. Muraku, Mikhail and Vanessa went to the other side. Nikolai and Wataru got one across the room. They all began typing rapidly, pulling up all sorts of information. The first team was center of the intel gathering. All the other information that the rest pulled up were immediately sent to them to analyze and eliminate. The second team were focused on the locations, while the third team were focused on the incidents or anomalies that have ever occurred.
The rest watched as the seven children worked on the case. They never once spoke, only sending each other eye signals or little hand movements, such as finger snapping or tapping the desk a certain amount of times. Even without seeing those movements, it was as if they each knew to which group it was addressed to.
After a full 30 minutes, Hannah suddenly stopped typing. She blinked for a second and glanced over what Kageto was typing out. Then her eyes widened. "Kageto, wait."
Usually, the pink haired boy would be against orders from anyone but Muraku. So it surprised the others when he listened. He took a step back and let Hannah work in his place. The other two teams came to stop too. They gathered behind the brunette as she filtered out all the information they received.
Every tab popped up and disappeared before any one else could read. It seemed that only the ex-Rossius members were able to keep up. Then, she stood up straight and took a deep breath. She pressed a button and the tabs cleared out, all but two. One had coding all over it, and the other...
"The National Defense HQ?" Ami asked, clearly surprised. "That's where the enemy is?"
"Huh... Alright, makes sense." Niara nodded. "The center dome might've been destroyed back then, but five years should be enough time to fix it. And the rest of the systems were just shut down. They weren't taken apart or anything."
"The president didn't want to take it apart." Kirito continued. "It was like that place was a memorial for her. Pretty weird since that memory wasn't exactly a nice one."
"It was that case, right?" Nikolai asked his cousin. "The one that you were involved in while I was on my vacation to Russia. Before the ghostjacking."
"You mean the one where Vice President Gardyne commited treason and got arrested?" Hannah specified.
"Yeah. That."
"Mmhm." Niara smirked. "We went to space and everything. Jealous?"
The younger boy rolled his eyes. "As if."
"What's with the numbers though?" Arata asked, pointing to the other tab.
"It's a piece of coding I got while scanning over the valleys." Hannah said. "I opened the file, but then Kageto almost deleted it, so I stopped him."
"Sorry. Got a bit caught up while looking over the other packets." The sixth platoon's mechanic reasoned.
"I know you all had... 'military training', but to think, you were capable of such coordination." Jin muttered, clearly impressed. "And to pull up results so quickly is also no easy task."
"Rossius was the largest nation in the Second World." Muraku began. "We have many classes, but we all know every single member and their abilities."
"You knew from the start that you were fighting real wars." Hikaru stated.
"I knew even before I went there." He replied. "My aim from the very beginning was to rise up my ranks to become a commander and free the other students from that warzone. Of course, I knew I couldn't do it alone. Which is why I got stronger and stronger, to earn the respect of all the other platoons and make them understand the situation so they would help me. It was pure chance that I was entered into Rossius though, a chance that I am absolutely grateful for."
"Aww! What a softie!" Vanessa playfully punched her leader on the shoulder. "But well, all that's pretty true. Mikhail, Kageto and I had a hard time believing it too at first, but after gathering proof, the four of us basically showed our whole nation at the dorms."
"It took time to gain everyone's trust, but Muraku was an outstanding leader to us all." Mikhail continued. "There were still few in disagreement, but the respect they had for Muraku was far beyond that."
"And since then, we've just been grathering any info we could get our hands on." Kageto summarized. "Each time someone gets LOST, we'd add them to our contact list to keep them updated about our progress. Each time someone new pops up, we'd come over and get them to play their role too."
"We firgured out pretty quick that Nikolai and Wataru are really fast at typing. They can search up multiple tabs and skim over them, getting the points." Mikhail explained. "Muraku, Vanessa and I are more focused on the details of only a certain amount of information."
"Kageto and Hannah are more practical than the rest. They're the ones to finish the half that we started." Muraku finished. "And there are many more roles for the other hundred students that we had."
"That's amazing!" Hiro complimented.
"That's my students!" Niara smiled proudly, making Nikolai roll his eyes again.
"Well, with all that aside," Kirito pulled up a different tab and Takuya's face appeared. "We've pin pointed the location."
"Good." The older man nodded. "We'll head down now."
Behind him, stood Gouda, Sendou, Asuka, Sakuya, Kiyoka, Takeru... Haibara Yuuya and Hanasaki Ran.
