I just looked back and made a face to Carter and without looking at Andrew turned front again...........

Then I remembered something and said to Chloe,

'' Chloe can I talk to you for a second? You guys go ahead, we'll catch up '' ,

Chloe looked surprised but gave me a nod and whisphered something to Mike, who gave her a peck on the cheek, melting my heart seeing how cute and romantic it is. When Mike saw me staring he gave me a smile and walked with the others who started walking towards the town.

'' You want something?? '' asked Chloe.

'' Umm.... yeah. I need to find work somewhere...''

" I knew you'll bring this up. But why?? ''

'' You know even I hate bothering mom to send me money. Dad agreed to pay the school fee, but I can't keep asking for money to buy the things I want..''

'' You never change do you?? I'm teaching some of the sophomores, do you want to teach????''

'' Hell no, you should know more than anything that teaching is not my thing. Any other work??''

'' Yeah yeah... But Becca you know that working is not allowed in Avalon High right?? Working is prohibited for high schoolers and if we want to work we need to get permission. Carter has permission. Well, I'll try asking Carter........ ''

'' C'mon it's fine as far as the school doesn't know. Don't. Don't tell anyone anything. Specially Carter, you know how he hates me working. Just tell me if there's any restaurant or a bookshop.. any place hiring any workers, ''

'' As far as I can remember there's no..... wait, there's one restaurant, ''

'' Tell me about it ''

'' Owner is a friend of mine, practically all of us as we started going there when I first came to Avalona. It's called 'food corner'. Give me a sec, i'll call and ask if he still want an extra helping hand.. ''

I nodded and in that moment Chloe took her phone, dialed a number, and placed the phone on her left ear and walked few centimeters. That girl still doesn't talk with someone on the phone when she's with someone. When we were small we used to make fun of her...

After few minutes she came walking towards me and said,

'' Ok, you got the job. But you'll have to work as the cashier and the waiter according to the time. I told him not to give you night shifts. So is it good??? ''

'' Yeah, where's the restaurant?? ''

'' It's just around the corner. There's big board. So you'll notice it right away. You are pretty lucky as we don't usually go there unless it's someone's birthday. The owner's name is Henry. ''

'' Can I just go and meet him or should make some kind of an appointment?? ''

'' No, just tell the cashier you wanna talk with him and I sent you. They know me so they'll let you in. Remember what ever happens don't let them find out you are... you know.. his daughter. ''

'' Yeah, I know, thanks so much Chloe... ''

'' Anytime for you darling. Now let's go, before those idiots come looking for us .. ''

Just then my phone started ringing and when I looked it's from Carter. I looked up at Chloe and said,

'' It looks like they can read our minds. '' Chloe made a face and I chuckled,

'' it's from Carter... '', and answered the call, and added before he can tell anything,

'' Hey, we are coming.. ''

'' Really?? We can't see you.. Anyway come to the Burger Corner, Chloe knows the place. ''

I said ' ok ' and ended the call. Then I turned towards Chloe,

'' He said they're in the Burger Corner. Is it near the ' Food Corner ' ??? ''

After thinking for a moment she said,

'' It's kind of near, but not like near near "

I looked at her closely to see if she bumped her head somewhere and started laughing.

'' You have gotten bad at telling directions more, you know ''

'' Rebeccaaaaa, stop laughing.. '' I stopped laughing only because I really wanted to know where that restaurant is,

''That's better. Food Corner is just six buildings away from the Burger Corner. You go and talk with Henry, i'll say that you went to buy somethings, to the others. ''

I gave her a nod and then we both started walking. After around five minutes, I saw the town. I've to admit, whoever built this town has an artistic art. The town looks like a drawing out from story book. every building is unique from each other. They have their own designs and their own colors. This looks like a photograpgh of a secret hidden town that never met the human eyes. Well, it's still second to my hometown in Illyria.

'' Isn't it beautiful?? ''

I was distracted by Chloe. I nodded my head and added,

'' Yeah, it's like entering a new.... I don't know. But I still prefer Colonia ( my hometown ) more '',

without taking my eyes from the town.

'' Me too, Rebecca, me too ''

I chuckled, afterall Colonia had been her hometown too, before she came to Avalona because, of her mom. Chloe suddenly held my hand and motioned me to stop. I stopped in the midway and looked at her. She told me pointing somewhere,

'' That' the Food Corner.... and that's the Burger Corner, the building that painted like or actually build like a burger. ''

I followed her hand and saw both the Food Corner and the Burger Corner. It's hard to miss the Burger Corner specially cause of it's shape.. I sighed and turned towards Chloe,

'' Then i'm going. Wish me luck! ''

Chloe gave me a nod and crossed her fingers and walked passed me to the Burger Corner. I waited until she enter and once she did, I walked quickly towards the Food Corner....
