Suddenly, just as there are only a few people left before I myself can get on the bus, a familiar face appears next to me. "So how have you been today?"

I can't hold back my anger and so I'm really sarcastic. However, I don't smile like I usually do when using this tone, no. My moves are small but sharp and my eyes are holding a thunder inside. "Amazing, just... Just amazing, you know? Definitely not mad at someone, definitely couldn't have been better."

"Woah," Jeongin laughs. "Okay..."

I take a deep breath, letting it out with so much stress in it before giving him a very short look, turning to the moving queue again. "How have you been?"

"Pretty chill."

We talk and talk and I finally relax and forget.

"I'm sorry but I'd love to go home early today. You know, I'll go watch some anime and rest. Plus, it's cold so you should go home too."

He nods his head, smiling still. "Yeah, sure, cool. What are you gonna watch?"

We get stuck in a conversation for a few more minutes before I finally get back home.

Jeongin is a sweet guy and somehow always manages to bring my mood up, even though I didn't tell him I was feeling bad. He lives in the village next to mine but he has to walk there or wait an hour for his bus. And so he walks. However, not before we talk... for thirty minutes, an hour,... Who cares. As long as we have fun, it's not a problem at all. Even though the weather could've been a bit warmer to make it more comfortable (but what do you want from the beginning of January, am I right).

And just like so many times before, he made me feel better now as well.

I tell my mom I don't want to talk about anything anymore and get some snack before disappearing in my room for the rest of the afternoon.

Or at least that's what I hope for.

It's around 5pm and there is no light left outside when someone rings our door bell.

I finally leave my room - literally after hours of sitting in my chair.

My father just peaks out of the kitchen as I'm walking towards the front door.

"It's okay, I'll get it."

"Okay," he closes the door again, leaving me alone in the hall.

I open the door and freeze.

"Hi," his tone is sharp, colder than the weather, eyes killing me without even looking me in my face. A big bag is being pushed into my hand. "This is your Christmas gift."

"Thanks," I say, not able to put any emotions into it. I put the bag on the floor behind me, turning to him as he's kneeling on the floor with his backpack in front of him.

"And..." He pulls a blue box out, handing it to me. "This is for your mom."

I don't understand why would he do that but take it with a nod anyways. "Thanks, I'm sure she'll like it."

I turn my back towards him again to put the box of chocolates on the shoe rack.

I hear his footsteps getting further away - he's leaving without even saying goodbye.

But I need to hear it.

And I need to say it.

Those three seconds feel like an eternity. I'm putting the box down, million thoughts running through my mind while Seungmin is ready to leave me in this cold again.

No, this is it. I can't let him get away again.

And so I turn around.

"It's over already."

Honestly throughout my life...
