32: To End It All
The first characters to reach us were the nine villains Mary-Ann had recruited since we were in VillaVillains. As they sprinted toward us, I had a moment of fear. Yzma and Syndrome were Disney characters. What if the villains decided they would benefit more helping them and not my friends and I?
The doubt dissipated when Scar reached the robot holding me and lunged at it, claws making a screeching noise as they met the metal. The robot released its hold, falling to the ground. I stumbled, regaining my balance. Maleficent, Hook, Cruella, Mother Gothel, Hans, Gaston, Scar, and Hades all went for the other robots holding my friends and sister as well as the ones just surrounding us. There were currently only ten robots but that could change.
Ursula got to us last since she didn't have legs, only tentacles. But they worked wonders as she grabbed a robot and threw it into an exhibit holding Governor Ratcliffe. The villains still locked in exhibits were watching with malicious intrigue.
I moved toward Syndrome, my focus on the remote in his hand. He held it up, as if to show me clearly what he was doing, as he hit one of the buttons. Yzma stepped between me and him, eyes narrowed into slits. "Let's have another go at each other, shall we? Maybe this time I can give you a little more than just a scratch on your face."
I scowled, heart pounding, as she moved toward me. I was quick to duck away, lunging out of reach. She started to move toward me again but froze, eyes trailing to something behind me.
I turned around.
A swarm of characters were running toward us from the entrance of VillaVillains...with the exception of a few figures flying our way instead. Ones from all the parks; Creational Creatures, Ordinarily Disney, and Royal Rounds. I couldn't focus on who exactly had decided to help us as Yzma got over her shock and attacked me again. I knew it was a lot. That was for sure.
Just as the characters were closing in on us, I heard creaking from the opposite direction and whipped around. My legs nearly gave way beneath me as gigantic forms came into view, moving fast.
Robots. The exact ones from The Incredibles. There were seven of them making their way in our direction, crushing anything in their path.
Syndrome was smiling as he watched them approach. I was frozen at the sight, not even realizing that more of the humanoid robots were coming out into the open from who knows where too. Dozens.
This was going to be an all-out war.
Something flew over my head toward the gigantic robots. I couldn't make out what it was until I heard one of my favorite voices ever say in a snarky tone, "You balls may be bigger than mine, but I take it you don't have the charm that I do to win over the ladies."
I laughed.
Despite everything happening and how I could actually die in that moment, I couldn't help but laugh.
Tony Stark, my forever favorite Marvel character.
The wave of characters had reached us right as the humanoid robots did. Cinderella had a glass slipper in her hand, and as she reached a robot, she hit it as hard as she could on its faceless head. The slipper shattered and the robot stumbled back, giving her time to knock it over and climb on top, even with the ballgown she was wearing.
I snapped out of my trance and turned just as Yzma reached me again, hand grabbing my hair and yanking me toward her. I hissed in pain, grabbing her wrist and lifting my leg as fast as possible to knee her in the stomach. She wheezed, grip loosening, and I pulled away, throwing a punch at her face.
My fist collided with her jawbone. She let out a sharp cry of pain and so did I as searing fire stabbed at my knuckles.
That hurt!
The giant robots reached us. Characters raced away from where they stepped. Just seeing their size made me feel faint. Tony was doing a decent job distracting them, but there were seven of them and one of him.
I heard a familiar voice behind so I turned. The BFG. I had been in charge of taking care of him. I'd seen his size in the exhibit, but beholding him out in the open now, it was amazing. He was even larger than the robots.
Maybe we could actually win.
I saw Mary-Ann kicking at a robot a few feet away and moved to help her. She turned to look at me, eyes widening. "Gianna, look out!"
I turned. Yzma. She really did hate me. She had the knife used to stab Kellen raised and was already bringing it down toward my neck. There was nothing I could do; no time to react.
Something blue and fluffy leapt at me from the side, hitting my face and knocking me to the ground as Yzma's knife swept where my head had been. The fluffy ball hissed and snarled before cackling at Yzma and sticking his butt out at her.
Stitch.
He lunged at Yzma and she retreated back to where Syndrome stood protected by robots. Then he turned to look at me, perking up as he studied my face. I knew he recognized me as a worker from Creational Creatures. He stared at me a moment longer before racing off to chase after Yzma.
I needed the remote from Syndrome. I didn't know what it did but I knew it gave him some form of power. Maybe it could stop the robots from attacking.
The ground started to shake as I rose to my feet. I turned to see that two of the giant robots had retracted their legs and were now just balls rolling around at a terrifying speed, trying to crush people, animals, and creatures.
I had to focus on getting the remote.
Syndrome was distracted with Marcus who was fighting to get to Kellen. The boy was on the ground behind Syndrome wheezing, hands scrabbling at his blood-soaked shirt.
He can't die.
Focus, Gianna, I thought to myself, hands shaking.
Syndrome turned his attention to me when I approached. Yzma was still being chased by Stitch so it was just the one Founder before me. His eyes darted between Marcus and I before he crouched beside Kellen, holding a hand out to us. "Come any closer and I'll summon a robot over here to crush him."
Marcus and I both froze. There was so much shouting and noise going on in all directions, it made my head spin a little, no matter how focused I tried to remain. Kellen was still alive. There was hope. But not if Syndrome finished the job.
"You're doing all of this for popularity?" I said, voice shaking. "For attention? You can get all that back in your world. You don't need this reality to adore you. Pretty sure if I went to yours I'd be a nobody."
"You already are a nobody even here," he said.
Ouch.
The giant robots and BFG combined made the ground continously tremble. I struggled to remain steadily planted in place, tears brimming my eyes.
No. You're not going to cry.
I opened my mouth to say something more but stopped when I saw Zeke behind Syndrome, slowly creeping closer. Marcus noticed too and quickly spoke to distract the villain. "Please let me help my brother. He's just a kid."
"You've seen the movie I'm in," Syndrome said darkly. "You should know I don't care if he's a kid or not."
We didn't need to say anything else because Zeke grabbed him, arms wrapping around his neck. I immediately raced to take the remote from his hand before he could push anything. He struggled against Zeke as I grabbed ahold of his arm, wrestling to get the remote from his grip without accidentally pushing a button. He tried a few times to hit one but I managed to keep him from doing so.
It was a power struggle for a minute before I kicked him in the groin and he grunted, grip on the remote relaxing as he sank to his knees. I yanked it out of his hand, breathing heavily as I straightened.
"You don't know how to use it," he coughed with a small laugh.
Before I could say anything, the ground stopped trembling. We all looked to see what was going on.
The giant robots, as well as humanoid ones, all froze in place. The rest of the Disney characters seemed uncertain what to do, all turning to look at my friends and I.
"Gianna Yumia."
The voice came from one of the giant robots. It filled the sudden silence, making me jump.
"Y-Yes?" I hesitantly said, gripping the remote to my chest.
"Your orders," it said.
My orders?
"I did it!" a new voice announced over the speakers. "I reprogrammed them! They're under your control, Gianna."
I definitely cried after that. Sukie belongs in a freaking lab using her genius skills on computers and changing the freaking world!
"NO!" Syndrome shouted, but Zeke still had a hold around him and kept him in place when he tried to stand.
Yzma was shrieking as Stitch ripped at her cloak, trying to swat him off.
"Put them in here." I turned to see Ben holding the door open to one of the now empty exhibits. "Stick them in here until we figure out what to do next."
He didn't need to tell us twice. Ben helped Zeke pin Syndrome so he couldn't escape and drag him to the exhibit, shoving him inside. Yzma followed just moments later with a little help from Mary-Ann and I who shoved her in the exhibit direction whilst she still shrieked and stumbled around, trying to pull Stitch off.
"Come on, Stitch," I said with a small laugh. "Pretty sure you don't want to end up in another exhibit."
That got him to jump off. Ben slammed the exhibit door shut and locked it, smiling smugly at Syndrome and Yzma as they glared at us through the glass.
"How does it feel being in an exhibit?" I asked.
They just continued to glare.
Applause broke out around us. The rest of the characters started to cheer. Toothless was in the air, breathing fire in celebration. Even the villains were smiling and celebrating, actually getting along with the other characters.
I even saw Hans bow to Anna and Anna curtsy back. Elsa didn't seem to approve as she dragged her sister away. That was when I noticed tendrils of ice spiraling in different parts of the walkway, meaning Elsa had been using her powers to fight back. If only I hadn't been too preoccupied. I could have seen some magical characters in action right before my eyes!
I saw no bodies on the ground, meaning nobody died. That had been one of my main concerns. My happiness was short-lived, however, when I remembered that there was somebody dying.
I ran toward where Marcus was crouched on the ground, cradling Kellen in his arms. He had a hand pressed against his brother's wound, tears in his eyes. Mary-Ann was kneeling beside them, crying silently. Tears escaped my own eyes. Kellen was still breathing, but it was faint, his face deathly pale and eyelids barely open.
The thought that people could die tonight had crossed my mind multiple times. But I had never actually seen a person dying right before me until now. No. This couldn't happen.
"Rapunzel?" I called, turning toward the crowd of characters. Some continued celebrating while others quieted at the sound of my voice. "Rapunzel, are you here?"
"Yeah!" I heard her voice call back. Moments later, she appeared at the front of the crowd. My flicker of hope immediately died.
Her hair was short and brunette.
"You...You don't have your healing powers," I said.
"No, sorry." Her eyes landed on Kellen and she pursed her lips, sadness glazing her large eyes. "I'm so sorry."
"I called an ambulance," Zeke said, voice tight with worry, as he made his way over to us.
An ambulance might not make it in time. Marcus held Kellen closer, cradling him to his chest. He's just a boy. He's got a life to live.
It was quiet now as the characters realized what was happening. I cleared my throat, turning to them. "We're...We're going to find the portal and you're all going to go home."
That made them smile again. I could tell that some were slightly more concerned about Kellen than others. It didn't matter. They'd go home. This wasn't for them to deal with.
"Do you know if Seth and Sara have found the little girl?" I asked Ben.
He shook his head. "I don't know."
I nodded before walking back to Syndrome and Yzma's exhibit. They turned away from me when I approached.
"Where's the little girl you kidnapped?" I demanded, anger in my tone. "Why did you take her?"
They didn't respond. I banged my hand on the glass. "Where is she? If you don't tell us, you're never going home!"
Yzma just gave a small scoff. Syndrome turned, though, anger blazing in his eyes as he spoke, "Where else do you think she'd be in a castle but the dungeon, stupid girl! We took her because Yzma needed a couple of drops of a child's blood to concoct more of the potion that disguised us."
"You hurt her?" I said, voice rising in volume.
"A prick of a needle," Yzma hissed, kicking the glass where my face was. I glared at her, but on the inside, I was relieved. The dungeon.
"You'll be going home shortly," I said before turning to look at the crowd of characters. "All of you will be."

Woah. Only one more chapter left! That's so weird to think about because, even though I wrote this years ago, I never fully published it here so I never got to mark it as complete.
Now I will soon! 😳🥳
