(003 POV)

I'm currently in the elevator heading up towards Mistilteinn. I looked outside the window to see the city where the adults live. I then saw Nana sending a message through her communicator. Once she is done she puts the device in her pocket. I then broke the silence.

003: I noticed through the coms that Squad 13 don't use their designated codes

Nana: Squad 13 is a special test squad formed by the doctor. They are allowed more freedom than other plantation defense squads.

003: Test squad? That old man is always up to something

The elevator then stopped and the doors slides open. I followed Nana as she stepped out of the elevator following a path. Taking a walk through the forest always calms me down. The smell, the sounds, something about it makes me feel more relaxed. After a while, we reached the front of the boarding house.

When I walked through the door, Squad 13 is already gathered in the foyer of the boarding house, I took note of their appearances. For the stamens, first, is the tallest of the group, with blond hair and wearing a pair of glasses. The second, is average height with black hair and blue eyes. The third, is shorter than the rest with unruly blond hair. Next, is tall and somewhat wider with auburn-brown hair. Finally, is a boy with slicked back olive-brown hair.

As for the pistils, First is the shortest with short blue hair. The second, is a girl with wavy ashen-blonde hair and blue eyes. The third, is the second tallest with deep purple hair wearing a pair of glasses. Next, is a girl with auburn-red hair tied in twintails and the last one is someone who I am familiar with, the tallest of the pistils with long pink hair and a pair of red horns, Zero Two.

Nana: Kids, this is Code 003. He is a stamen that can pilot a Franxx by himself.

All of them have surprised faces, except for Zero Two.

??? 1: Another single digit?

??? 2: He can pilot by himself?

Nana: Just like Code 002, he is part of the special forces unit APE directly controls. He will be staying with you until the next transport ship arrives

003: Squad 13, It is nice to meet you all

It didn't take long for Zero Two to launch herself towards me and wrapping me in a hug.

Zero Two: Senpai!

I just smiled at her and hug her back.

003: Good to see you too, Zero Two. How have you been?

Zero Two: I've been good

003: That's great

Nana: Code 015, will take you to his room

The girl with blue hair nodded, looks towards me and spoke up.

015: Please, come with me

I just nodded.

003: We'll catch up later, Zero Two

I then follow 015 upstairs while Nana is still speaking to the rest of the squad. We walked for a while until I broke the silence.

003: I noticed through the coms that guys have names correct?

015: Yes, but we are-

003: I know, you are a special test squad formed by Dr. Franxx. What's yours?

015: What do you mean?

003: Your name. What is your name?

015: Ichigo

I then smiled at her.

003: Well it's nice to meet you Ichigo. My name is Akiri

Ichigo looked at me surprised that I had a name. I then raise my hand for a handshake. She simply smiled and accepts it.

Ichigo: Nice to meet you too, Akiri

We then stopped in front of a door and she opens it.

Ichigo: This will be your room. Bathroom is just down the hall. I am the squad leader, so if you need anything, just ask me

Akiri: Thank you

She then walked away. I open the door and walked into the room. It was just a small room with a single bed in the corner. I noticed that my suitcase is already placed beside the bed and I opened it and pulled out a pouch full of lollipops. I then took one of them and unwrapped it before putting it in my mouth. I took off my coat and lie down on the bed.

It's been a while since I lied down on a soft bed. Before this, I was sleeping on the seat of the transport ships. I then thought back to the dream I had back in the transport ship.

Akiri: (thoughts) That dream again... I've had dreams, nightmares before... But these dreams are different, It was more than a dream. It's more like... a vision. It felt so real... It's like I'm seeing things that I don't remember seeing...

I was interrupted by my stomach rumbling. I then remembered that I haven't even had dinner last night. It is time for breakfast soon so I made my way to the dining hall.

While I was walking I heard noises of people talking and saw that it was coming from the dining hall. When I walked inside, I saw all of squad 13 all of them fell silent and looked towards me except Zero Two.

Akiri: What?

???: N-nothing. Sorry sir

The stamen with the pair of glasses said.

Akiri: Please, I'm a parasite same as you all. Just call me Akiri

I noticed Zero Two was pouring an excessive amounts of honey onto her plate, which makes my mouth water. But I regained my composure and resist my temptation.

I then saw an empty seat with food already on the table on the stamen table. I assumed it was mine, so I walked over to it, took a seat and started to eat. The black haired boy beside me then looked towards me.

???: Hi, I'm Hiro, Code 016

I accepted the handshake and the others followed suit and introduced themselves.

???: Code 056, call me Goro. I pilot Delphinium with Ichigo

I simply nodded.

???: The names Zorome, Code 666. The ace pilot of the squad. Pleased to meet a fellow elite pilot

The boy with curly blond hair said with a puffed up chest and prideful tone. I notice the others roll their eyes at him.

???: I'm Miku. Code 390 and I pilot Argentea with this idiot

She said, pointing her thumb towards Zorome.

???: I'm Futoshi, Code 214. I pilot Genista together with my amazing partner, Kokoro

The girl with long blonde hair gives a small wave at me from her seat with a polite smile.

???: It's nice to meet you

I just nodded and smiled back at her.

???: Code 196, pistil of Chlorophytum. You can call me Ikuno

The girl with purple hair said after adjusting her glasses. Everyone then looked at the boy with slicked back hair as he is the only one left who haven't introduced himself.

???: Mitsuru. Code 326

He says without making eye contact. I just ignored his attitude since I've dealt with people like him before.

I listened closely as they introduce themselves and quickly memorized their names. I've always had a good memory. I don't know why though, I've never seemed to forget anything even to the tiniest of details. But despite my good memory, I can't shake this feeling that I'm forgetting something.

Akiri: I was honestly surprised when I find out that you guys had names

Goro: Yeah, Hiro here started it way back in the garden

Akiri: Really? Do you by any chance remember giving me my name?

Hiro: No, sorry. Why?

Akiri: I have a name, but I don't remember where I got it from. It just felt natural so I just went with it

Hiro: Is that so? Sorry I couldn't be of any help

Akiri: It's okay. It's just another thing I have to figure out while doing my job

Futoshi: What do you do?

Akiri: Well recently, due to more klaxosaur attacks, I have been transferred from plantation to plantation as backup for the defense squads if the situation is too much for them to handle by themselves. Before that, I was in the assault squad in the front lines with Zero Two.

Zorome: Assault squad?

Akiri: A parasite squad formed to find and destroy klaxosaur nests

Hiro: And Zero Two used to be part of them?

Hiro looked towards Zero Two who was eating her honey drenched meal.

Goro: How many plantations have you been transferred to?

Akiri: Exactly 57 to date

I answer before taking another bite of my food.

Ikuno: How is it that are you able to pilot a Franxx by yourself? That is practically unheard of

The other members of the squad looked at me curiously after hearing her question.

Akiri: I don't exactly know. Whenever I asked Papa or even Dr. Franxx, they would just tell me that I'm gifted

We then continued to eat our breakfast while squad 13 asked me more questions.

(Timeskip)

(Third person POV)

After breakfast, Akiri was walking towards the hangar with a lollipop in his mouth after being told by Nana to be there through his communicator. He reaches the elevator and as he was about to push the button to go down he notices Hiro and Zero Two heading towards him.

Hiro: Hey, Akiri

Akiri: Hiro? Zero Two? What are you two doing here?

Hiro: We got word from Nana to be at the hangar. How about you?

Akiri: The same

Hiro: Really? Can we tag along?

Akiri: Sure

Hiro and Zero Two then stepped into the elevator and Akiri pushes the button. The elevator doors closed and it started going down. Akiri pulled out two lollipops and offers them to Hiro and Zero Two.

Akiri: Want one?

Zero Two takes it, unwrapped it and puts it in her mouth while Hiro did the same.

Zero Two: Thanks

Hiro: Thank you

Akiri just nodded.

Hiro: So what do you think Nana wants to see us for?

Akiri: I don't know. I assumed it was because my transport has arrived and I am about to be transferred to another plantation. But after seeing that you two are called as well and I am told not to bring my suitcase, I figured that wasn't the case.

Hiro: Really? Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see

The elevator then stopped and the door slides open. They then walked out of the elevator and made their way to the hangar.
