100,000 down to 10,000 

over the past 100 years,

the cheetah could soon be extinct, 

one of mankind's biggest fears.

Those that are left need protecting,

stop illegal hunting and pet trade,

we need to stop taking their land,

they need us to come to their aid.

Cheetahs are now facing extinction, there are less than 10,000 of these beautiful animals left in the wild. December 4th was chosen as International Cheetah Day because it is the birthday of Khayam, a cheetah Dr Marker raised from a cub at the Wildlife Safari in Oregon. The loss of natural habitat and climate change, the problems between cheetahs and livestock farmers and the lack of cheetahs in protected areas means numbers are dwindling fast. We  need to take action to preserve these magnificent creatures, they badly need our help .
