on this date King Herod had male babies executed,

because of baby Jesus he lived in fear .

On the Day of Holy Innocents in Mexico, the citizens there play jokes and prank on friends, very similar to April Fools Day. The media also take part in this by reporting stories that are too absurd to be true, all in fun. Some however visit cemeteries with offerings to the souls of departed children, this is a pre-Hispanic tradition.
